Non-stick nonexistent
Bought a 5 Litres cassolette. Retailer assured me that the quality was as good as any imported product. Food has stuck from the very first use. Haven't use scourers or harsh chemicals. The slightest food stains have been impossible to shift. So you can imagine any burn marks are like.
Purchased in October 2021 for A$115.00.

Not non-stick
I just bought an egg poacher and the quality of the non-stick surface is really poor. 100% stick! The price suggests reasonable quality. Im tired of being ripped off - do not buy!!!
Purchased in October 2021 at Amazon.

Waited for 6 months before making a review.
Initially I loved it. The non-stick surface worked really well, however after a few months a lot of the non stick coating was starting to come off and the only thing 'stone' about it was the colour. These types of coatings have been found to be carcinogenic, so I chucked it. Off to buy another frypan today and it won't be another pyrostone.
Purchased in January 2021 at Harris Scarfe for A$50.00.

Great when new, didn't last long
Rubbish, handle snapped off, became loose quickly and then snapped off. It was a really great product for 3 months, rubbish after that. We bought a Scanpan at the same time and the Scanpan product is still as new.
Purchased in July 2021 for A$60.00.

As Good as the Expensive Brands
Pyrolux Pyrostone sauce pans and fry pans have held up as well as -- I would say even better than -- most of the expensive brands we have bought over the years. (See background info below.)
The sauce pans do not stick and are very easy to clean. The exterior surfaces have very few permanent markings or stains and the interior non-stick finish shows barely visible scratches or other wear. The lids fit well, have a glass top so you can see how things are cooking, have a steam vent in the glass top, and can be picked up with bare hands (but saf...Read more
er with mitts, and remember to keep the steam vent on the far side of you). The frypans heat up quickly and evenly (as far as we can notice) and the stick-free surface remains intact. The handles on sauce and fry pans have very good grip -- very firm with slight rubber-like finish for nonslip grip. the handles do not get hot -- we regularly pick up with a bare hand when pan is on the burner (where the handle is away form any heat, of course). Both fry and saucepans have a nice degree of weight -- not flimsy light but not heavy weight (try picking up a Woll Nuvo!) The small frypan is now starting to experience some minor sticking (especially fried eggs) and minor scratch marks (visible but nonstick surface is still intact). It also shows slightly coloration on the interior nonstick surface (very little, but noticeable against other Pyrostone pans). This is the pan that some family members have used on high heat and with more abrasive utensils (wood spatula, occasional metal). It could be a limitation of the Pyrostone product. However, the larger (26cm) fry pan has held up better, possibly because users applied less intense heat and better utensils. The larger pan is used more for sautéed cooking whereas the smaller pan is used mainly for fried eggs. We have definitely NOT noticed any peeling or removal of the nonstick surface (which we did experience on other brands long ago). Pyrolux Pyrostone apparently uses a fairly high quality coating from Whitford USA (one of the world's largest coating research and manufacturing firms). The name suggests this is a stoneware coating, and stoneware coatings seem to get superior reviews compared to other non-PFOA coatings. Still, coatings on domestic cookware aren't perfect. They can be damaged over time.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

After two years pyrolux pyrostone is unusable
I bought a 26cm and 28cm pyrolux pyrostone frypan in February 2016. I was pleased they came with a lifetime warranty and hoped to use them for many years. It’s now July 2018 and both frypans are unusable in that the non-stick has completely gone. I look after my frypans - I never put them on high or excessive heat and I always wash them straight away. I thought I would contact pyrolux warranties however their phone number said all the lines were busy and someone would get back - then the phone line goes blank. I looked up the website and it says Pyrostone coming soon. What a joke, I’m very disappointed and would advise avoiding all pyrolux products.

Best of the non stick frypans, regardless of cost.
I use my frypan every morning to cook tomatoes, and for general cooking. I have tried most of the non stick frypans over the years from cheap to stupidly expensive including Scanpan, Jamie Oliver, Bluestone, Flavorstone and Woll. The Falvorstone was the most non stick, being exceptional in this area, but it is fragile. You cannot let it get very hot and it has a limited life and scratches easily. The Woll lasted a very long time, but was not overly non stick. The Pyrolux has 85% of its non stick, and is better than the others, but outlasted all the others by several years and was much more tolerant to heat, and it is very well made and is my run away recommendation, and non sticky frypans are almost an obsession to me.

Have had them for years now
I purchased one pan then another, then an entire set.
I'm so pleased with pyrostone. I feel it does the same job as cast iron but non stick and light weight.

Dangerous
We purchased the Pyrostone 4 piece cookware set from Cooks kitchen on the 27th of May. My Husband cooked some chicken in it, the non stick pan was great. He wiped the pan and the handle snapped off! Resulting in him to have the handle in his hand while the pan was on the floor. We had this pan for ONE day used it once and this happened. What scares me is that this could have been a saucepan of hot water and could have burnt either my husband or myself. I am currently pregnant and it frustrates me that this pan set is valued at $439 and on sale ...Read more
for $199. We will be returning this set to the shops as we can't guarantee that this won't happen to the others in the set. You do get a 10 year warranty with this brand, but only worthy if you have it for more than one day.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Better than most of the expensive brands!
I have previously had a range of expensive non stick pans from several brands (Circulon, Le Crueset, Scanpan etc). All well over $100 each. They were all great to start with but within 6 months had started sticking. While staying at a friends home I cooked some eggs and was amazed with her frypan - every bit of the egg just slid right off the pan. Easily the best non stick I had ever seen! Her husband is a chef so when I asked the name of the pans I was amazed to find that they were cheap as chips. I have since purchased two items - a lar...Read more
ge and small frypan from range. I have only had them a month so still waiting to see how they go over a longer period but so far they are amazing. The best non stick range I've ever come across at a fraction of the cost of other brands. We are so pleased with it we are trying hard to care for them well with gentle hand washing and careful storage. I paid $60 for the two pans and at that price it's an absolute bargain! Well worth a try.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Value but requires basic care
I purchased this plan to try and get the BBQ flavour without having to fire up the BBQ in the middle of winter. After several uses and following the basic instructions to build the oil layer this pan is amazing value for the $23 i paid. This is not a basic non stick pan, you need to treat it with some care but doesn't take that much effort for the reward. I bought another within the range!

Came back for more
We have recently purchased 2 more saucepans (18 cm, 20 cm) after previously owning a 16 cm for 2 years, it lasted really well so far and has not lost any coating. I have read other reviews about people saying it's not non stick, I'm sorry but i have never found anything that is truly non stick & i thing people are kidding themselves when they believe all the manufacturers sales pitch, most things stick a little. We have had scanpan, frypans and have found then to be terrible, as there surface scratches overtime and they become just as bad as a $30 pan, but you have paid 10 times as much. These pans are not too expensive and so far is still in mint condition.

Great frypan
I recently bought a Pyrostone by Pyrolux Frypan 28cm from Harris Scarfe and was lucky enough to get it at a great sale price. It is early days of course, but I can already tell this is one great frypan. I love how little oil/butter you need to use in cooking eggs, bacon, steak, anything! And it's so, so easy to clean. Manufacturers tips on how to maintain the pan are clear and very helpful - but must be read. It is worth knowing how to properly look after this frypan because I'm pretty sure if the proper care is taken I will have it for qu...Read more
ite some time. It is PFOA free and can be used on all cooktops including induction, it has an ergonomic handle with a soft touch grip, and the weight is just right too. Very impressed - and can thoroughly recommend this product. Love it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best non-stick pan I bought
I have been using Tefal frypans for more than 5 years and I need a new frypan almost every 6 months. Then I saw these popular frypans on Victoria Basement website and gave it a try. The frypan heated up really fast and it remained hot for some time, so I could use less gas to cook and it really cut down the gas bill. The frypan was truly non-stick and I had no problem frying eggs with any oil, even after a month of frying fish and cooking pasta.
BTW, the frypan seems to cook well with meat at high temperature and didn't produce much smoke. ...Read more
I love cooking pan-fried salmon on it 'cos the skin always crispy. I will buy a 26cm pan for different type of cooking and hope the frypans will last at least a year, 'cos none of my Tefal pans last for that long and the coating started coming off in a few months time. This product is definitely better than other brands I use like Tefal, Circulon and Baccarat.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Not as advertised
I finally decided to purchase the Pyrostone frypan after viewing a lot of advertising about non stick cooking on stone products. I was dissapointed that the first time I used it to fry an egg without oil - (as I thought you could do this with a non stick product) that the egg did stick and I had to add oil just to get it off the frypan. I was trying to get healthy -obviously not with this product. I thought that given the price $109 that it would have performed much better. Next time I will read the reviews first before impulse buying.

Best I've ever had.
I've had a set of 3 Pyrolux Pyrostone frypans for the last 12 months and they get used a lot. Found them much better tan considerably more expensive ones I've had in the past.
I was advised to use a few drops of oil with them. I've had no problem with them by making sure I don't heat them to a high heat when dry. I test the heat by heating then putting a couple of drops of oil in and seeing if it spreads quickly but does not start to smoke. They are not (and I understand not designed to be) completely non stick, i.e. cook an egg and it will slide out. Also make sure it is cool before washing.

Worse than terrible.
I used it to cook eggs, medium heat, they stuck and stuck badly. Do not buy this product or any Pryolux product and do not buy from Victoria's Basement. They refused a refund for this dreadful product.

Not what it says!
I purchased a 3 piece set for $165.00 (casserole with lid and large & medium pan). I was also advised and purchased non-stick utensils (recommended in store $50) I didn't use oil or scourers, and used a low heat setting. However after only 3 months the surface has started to peal off and therefore I cannot cook with them as it is not healthy. I returned to the place of purchase but they would not give me a refund.
