Qantas Club Paid Membership doesn't count for much!!!

published

Year after year, you can see the cut backs Qantas is making to their Qantas Club Membership.
The quality of food offered has declined consistently.

Even though I personally paid $351 for a year of Qantas club membership, you are NOT allowed to use the Qantas Club when flying OneWorld Partner airlines. This is a ridiculous policy, given that I actually PAID for the membership and now being told I can't use it.

Be very cautious purchasing this product, unless you have a premium status with a OneWorld airline or only fly Qantas or Jetstar.

Very disappointed the the "Qantas Club" product and the limitations they impose.

Qantas Club renewals

published

Qantas do not appear to provide any details about one's expiry date on their account information. It would seem sensible to provide an expiry date somewhere so that members can diarise?

Adelaide is disappointing

published

I have held Qantas Club membership for many years and have mostly enjoyed the experience. I have noticed lately the price has increased boarding on outrageous and the quality of the experience dimished, particularly Adelaide!! Melbourne is still excellent but Adelaide should be ashamed!! The selection at breakfast time this morn ing is poor as to what it used to be.
Who is now responsible? Disappointed this morning!!

Qantas Club Now A Rip-off

published

I have got to say that as a Qantas Club member since 1987 the final straw that has broken the camels back for me has come with the appalling designed - so called new lounges. What disgrace. Melbourne especially - cut in half from its original size and the most uncomfortable space in which to sit. I think we should demand a refund. It's all part of what I call the "creep". Qantas is expert at taking away bit by bit services which used to make them a quality airline. Joyce and Co. wax lyrical on how great the airline is … well let me tell you there are much better airlines with much better service than Qantas. They know it but feed us on crap… I say to all Qantas Club members - Complain for god's sake !!!

They take the fees very quickly but when they need to pay back they will not

published

I paid my membership but got an invoice/receipt for double the amount. Apparently by mistake of mine or the website I included a guest payment. I rang immediately and the operator told me not to worry my money will be return to me between 3-4 days. After repeated pho calls and promises U still did not get my money back. I was told that they don’t know why.
Shame on you Qantas. I am with the club for over 20 years. This is how you treat loyalty. Shame

crowded, noisy and depressing

published

At peak times ( mornings and evenings when business travelers are most likely to be there) it is way to crowded. Combine this with the windowless room - and you're better off in a cafe

Variable experiences

published

The basic qantas club offers, at times, a very basic service, but usually the coffee is great and using ‘skip the line’ means you don’t line up for your morning java hit. Selection of beers usually good and the wine is often very good. The food is better than cafeteria style food.

collecting Points

published

Absolutely pathetic point system for members. In my opinion, it is a deliberate tactic to make a difficult and unpleasant experience to earn points and status pints. I have to constantly chaise my points. It is insane that as members we do not get points automatically when we book a flight. In stead, we have to the waist so much time to make sure we get it. I wished I never paid for the membership as it is worthless pis of crap. I always have trouble logging in. Tried to reset my pin after an unsuccessful attempt to log in to point claiming portal. Impossible mission. An online chat is only open during the day!!! What a joke.

The worst club lounge

published

Just flew in from Canberra and the Melbourne lounge is embassasing. It has the ambiance of a corridor. Dreadfully uncomfortable seats and it is dark and oppressive. No natural light!! It should be manditory for the Designer and the senior management of Qantas to use this lounge exclusively while in melbourne, because I bet they don’t!

Worst lounge v worst food

published

The new Melbourne QC lounge has got to be the worst since it’s “upgrade”. No natural light, always crowded and uncomfortable furniture...

But I think the worst food would have to be Sydney. Just plain awful, tired “salad”, sliced ham and sliced cheese. Even Brisbane or Cairns is better!

Disappointed

published

I certainly would not call this an upgrade. Menu selection very poor. Only salads for travellers that can’t or don’t eat hot spicy food. Dessert selection consisted of 3 almost inedible segments of cake. There was however TWO cheeses to select from. Staff to clean tables were almost nonexistent. Seating was also difficult to find.

Worst business lounge

published

Staff that can’t be bothered, average food, dirty toilets, only thing going for this lounge is comfortable seats and lots of them

One word - uncomfortable

published

Given some of the exciting new lounge designs internationally, I was looking forward to seeing the new Melb upgrade. Sadly I have to say that the only word that comes to mind is ‘uncomfortable’. The lounge, as the name implies, should be a place to relax in comfort. The new furniture definitely hasn’t been designed with this in mind.
None of the seating is comfortable. With some changes to seating there would be a big improvement.
Overall disappointed in the new design.

Melbourne club downgrade

published

The renovated Qantas Club at Melbourne has shown the lowly non-business class Qantas Club member their place in the pecking order. The design, like a modern cafe, has ambiance, furniture and hard acoustically resonating surfaces to encourage discomfort and a quick turnover. The footprint is smaller than the previous club ensuring that it gets very crowded which is exacerbated by the furniture arrangements that presume that most people will be happy to share tables. The claustrophobic feel of long crowded space is made worse by the removal of any loss of external windows. I know the aim was to improve the business class lounge but it has sent a message loud and clear that QC users are second class citizens.

“Improved” Melbourne Qantas lounge

published

For a plane enthusiast, Melbourne was the best QC lounge in the country, bar none. Now, Unless you are fortunate enough to be flying business you get a fantastic view of your fellow passengers waiting to go through security. Better views from the gate!
People tripping over each other in the condensed food servery only adds to the experience.
Well done qantas!
