Great rangehood

I had a very ineffective recirculating rangehood, and often a smoky kitchen when frying as a result, and wanted to replace it with a ducted one. The Qasair has been excellent. It looks stylish and is easy to clean. Most importantly, it completely removes smoke and steam, and is relatively quiet.
Very effective, easy to clean, relatively quiet
It is relatively expensive

I'm wanting a relatively quiet rangehood. Could you please provide the decibel level on lowest and highest settings for the Qasair 1000HL-2?

Wouldn't know what the Qasair's noise levels are, but if you want the quietest rangehoods, you should consider the ones with the external motors like Schweigen (not as high quality as Qasair) or Whispair. These are quieter as long as they are installed exactly to the installation requirements. They would be quieter but not silent, as air movement does create vortices inside the concertina ducting. Where Qasair excels is excellent suction and no concertina ducting, so much greater airflow due to the greater crossection area and smooth flow, ergo relatively quiet motor, albeit inside the house, so there is some generated noise.

So this could be where Qasairs are quieter than most for the same given airflow.

Thanks Lawrance. Unfortunately it's not a situation where I can have an off-board motor, so I'm looking for a quiet on-board set up. A lot of the noise is generated by air striking the concertina tin foil ducting that's for sure. I'll check that link out.
