Best flooring I have ever had
We had Quick Step ARC Bamboo flooring laid in 2013 in our kitchen, family room and hallways and have never had a problem with it at all. 3 1/2 years later it still looks as good as new! It is so easy to care for and looks so welcoming and inviting I wish that I had it in the rest of my house.

Excellent Product
I had Quick Step Laminate installed in my old house and never had any problems for 9 years.
I recently moved in my new house and got water proof impressive ultra quick step laminate from Hills Flooring Castle hill, i am very pleased with the product and the service. Highly Recommended!

Very disappointed
This laminex flooring shows up every mark or smudge. And slightest moisture creates swelling. We have lumps and bubbles all over the floor. Our previous flooring was laminex not quickstep though and we had it for over 15 years and it was fabulous. We had three dogs at the time and it never showed a mark. Not sure why this quickstep product is so bad. We had a so done from the company come out to check it but of course there is no recourse because we didn't use their mop and spray. We were not aware of this or told when purchasing the product. It was laced professionally as well.

Great product, great service.
We've had Quick Step laminated flooring in our house for about 12 years. It is very easy to maintain and after all these years it still looks great. I recently needed 2 more boxes of my obsolete model flooring, to do the floor where I'd removed some built in cupboards. Staff at Quick Step were outstanding in assisting me to find what I required. The new flooring is a perfect match for the original boards - so no fading at all.
The boards will swell along the seam if you spill water on them and allow it to stay for a long period of time. That's...Read more
easy to avoid and you can clean them with a damp cloth. We find the boards to be highly resistant to being marked and have never worried about removing shoes inside. I would strongly recommend these boards and would happily have them again in the future.

RUBBISH!!!
Crap product. Don't let a single drop of water on it. The edges swell up after a couple of minutes.. No good for kids. No good for in a house that you live in... No good for anything!!!

Overpriced, awful product - avoid
We purchased the Java bamboo flooring and paid a decent price for it. We had our floor installed in October 2014, it has an unbelievable amount of scratches, small chips & surface checking. My daughter dropped a teaspoon on the floor and it chipped, that's how terrible it is. We wanted a family friendly floor and the sales rep promised that it was super hard (harder than jarrah), scratch resistant technology & a 25 year warranty. Check out the warranty - pretty much excludes anything that could go wrong with it (scratching, surface checking...etc) Save your money.

Wish we had never purchased this product
We purchased Quick Step Colonial Blackbutt flooring for our house renovations last November, having been assured of its suitability for a family with young children and a pet. We were told that this laminate would wear far better to timber - and bought it on this premise. In reality, we have unexplained water damage that is only repairable by replacing the entire floor in the room in question. We are a very clean household, however cannot seem to remove smudge marks caused by footprints in the walkways - very noticeable when light shines throug...Read more
h the windows. In spite of claims of its being hard-wearing, we have been living with the floor for only 7 months and have numerous dints and chips throughout the house. These seem to only be repairable with the aid of a floor repair kit. For its high price point, we are inexpressibly disappointed with this product and would encourage anyone considering this floor to opt for a true polished timber. Don't make our mistake!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Looks lovely initially but just not tough enough to live with
I bought the quick-step laminate in blackbutt and it looked just beautiful initially. Very careful to get rid of any rolling furniture and protect everything with felt but have still ended up with some scratches. The main problem though is with moisture. Cat threw up on the floor, couldn't attend immediately and 10 minutes later when I could the board were already very damaged with a very noticeable lump where moisture was. Damage from water occurs way too easily, whether it be an unnoticed drip from a bottle that has been in the refrigerator or a spilt drink. Even where there is not a lot of water it becomes very noticeably warped.

Excellent easy care flooring
We had Quick-Step Dominicano oak grey Largo installed about 9 months ago and couldn't be happier. I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews on here but my sister had Quick-Step installed and was really pleased with it, so we went with it. So far the flooring has coped with numerous cat vomits, a child spilling a glass of soft drink and an adult spilling a glass of red wine on it - all with no problems. No scratches that we can see - we did put soft furniture protectors on all our furniture but it is holding up to cats and kids with no issue...Read more
s. The grey Quick-Step we went with also has grooves and notches in the pattern so it is very forgiving of dirt and if it does happen to get scratched, the pattern is going to hide any issues. Replacing all the carpet in the house with this product was one of our best home renovating ideas!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't drop anything, but just don't waste your money in the first place
We installed Quick-Step in our study and anything you drop (plastic and a cup so far) tears and puckers the surface of the boards. Quick-step finish is essentially paper. It feels nice and looks nice but will be lucky to last a couple of years at this rate (we installed it late 2015). We planned on installing more at a later date in our living/dining area, but will NOT be proceeding with this plan. It is expensive rubbish. Just get bamboo. Costs 50% more but will last decades. Even the Bunnings laminate flooring we installed on a temporary basis for ~ $13/m on sale stands up better. Not a scratch on it and we are pretty rough with it.

Do not use! very disappointed. Scratches terribly. bad customer service. i have had my floor down for about 6 months and it is not at all practical. what good is a floor if you can't use it. supposed to be guaranteed for so many years, but they are not interested once the floor is down.

Limitations of the product
I have had Quick Step "Sydney Blue Gum" flooring down for 2.5 years. The appearance is outstanding, but unfortunately, considering the price of the product, its limitations need to be taken into account before purchase.
It is assumed that a product to be used for flooring will be robust enough to withstand some moisture. Even the smallest amount of liquid (left unnoticed for a couple of hours) will have long lasting, unrepairable consequences. The edges of the planks will swell and take on a frilled appearance. This has happened to my floor af...Read more

Not up to expectation
We purchased 100m2 of the Sydney blue gum quick step flooring system and had in stalled in Nov '15. It replaced a laminate floor that required changing because of colour clashing. The brochures, you tube video, company webpage all looked good. The floor looks great, however:
1. Don't drop a thing on it, a child's toy, cutlery, keys will chip the floor
2. Don't wet it, no matter how little, it will bubble, and this damage is irreversible
3. Every bit of furniture will require a mat or the like, to protect the floor surface
4. Your warranty ...Read more

Disappointed
We pulled out our tiles and had Quick Step Spotted Gum Largo laid professionally in November 2015. The floor looks great IF NO ONE WALKS ON IT!! The house has been transformed in appearance, but the floor itself shows up every single mark, footprint and step. It NEVER EVER looks clean. It was sold to us as a low maintenance, easy product. I don't think I have ever had to mop a floor so much. Basically it needs cleaning with a damp mop every single day and sometimes several times a day. If you walk bare foot it shows. There are four of u...Read more
s in the family (two school aged girls) and no pets. The very first day, my daughter dropped a fork on the floor and the floor chipped immediately in that spot. It is not as tough and resistant as they make out in all of their advertising. Time will tell how well it lasts. Overall, the look is lovely, but for show only. Not for walking on. I am very disappointed in the end product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Carpet be gone, Laminate is the way.
I’ve deliberately delayed writing this review for some time to allow for a change of seasons / weather and humidity to see if any changes between the time of installation and now, I’m glad to say the product is just as good today as the day it was laid down.
The product we chose was -- Quick Step Colonial - "Spotted Gum" 9.5 mm Laminate Flooring professionally installed. After looking at other reviews in Product Review we had some concerns weighed up the pro's & con's but finding the right company / installer is the key between a substandard product to a product that will stand the test of time.
Regards
Graham and Donna from Altona.

Substandard product ...do not buy
We have had the quickstep now laid in Tasmanian oak for a week. We 100% regret this purchase. We were advised this product is soft but of the same standard as Tasmanian oak. Being we have had Tasmanian oak floors before, we like the weathered look of timber so went ahead and laid it. It is a disgraceful product, it doesn't just dent it cracks and leaves divets. We are 2 middle aged owners so hardly hard on our floors and 2 duvets out of timber already. I would go as far as to say it should not be on the market as I can mark it with my fingernai...Read more
l. I thought perhaps we had a faulty batch but perhaps I should have read these reviews prior to purchasing. I will contact the company to find out whether our floor is faulty or whether it is just a disgusting product. So let's see what they will have to say.Similar opinion? Biggest waste of money in our whole house renovation
Purchased the Tasmanian oak timber flooring in December 2014 for a kitchen and family room. It was an expensive product that I wish I had never purchased. The installers left damage from day 1 and since then the slightest thing will mark the floor (even dropping a plastic container has caused a mark). There are only 2 full time working adults living in the house so it doesn't get hard wear but it has marks all over. The manufacturers were completely uninterested when I contacted them, so the 25 year warranty appears to be a bit of a waste of time. Renovated the whole house and this is the worst product we bought. Would definitely not recommend.

Stay clear of quickstep
It wasn't cheep and I loved it for 12 months. It has bubbled almost everywhere in my house and now the boards have moved so much there is a gap of over 5cm between, yes this is probable due to incorrect application, however the bubbling is horrific. They look great at the start, but one drop of water and they look horrific. Not recommended.

Ended in a Civil Claims Case against the manufacturer - steer clear
I purchased Quickstep Colonial flooring earlier in the year and within 2 weeks the flooring had blistered along the edges where water had splashed unloading the dishwasher and where I bumped a bottle of cleaner over. In both instances I dried the spills up. The surface also broke away from dropping things like cutlery in the kitchen. I took the company to Fair Trading and they told Fair Trading factually incorrect stories about the cause of the damage to the floor. I then proceeded to send the company a letter of demand asking for a refund of t...Read more
he floor or replacement with a higher quality material. The company wouldn’t listen so I then referred the issue to the NSW Civil Claims Tribunal who agreed with me and asked the company to refund the price or negotiate a replacement with a fit for purpose material. I’d steer clear of this one. It is not fit for purpose and really should not be on sale.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not as good as I thought it was going to be
We bought Quick Step laminate Blackbutt (colonial range) and have had it for nearly two years now. With two small children and an indoor dog, we did a lot of research as to which type of wood/laminate floor to get before finally settling on the Quick Step range. It was very expensive when compared to other laminate flooring of similar look but we didn't mind because it is said to be the absolute bees knees of laminate flooring. I'll be honest, I am a bit disappointed in the overall look. We have a lot of windows and light coming through and...Read more
the low sheen on this floor shows every single bit of dirt and foot prints. I am writing this review as I have just finished mopping and reminded myself how great they look, then my 3 year old walked on them and straight away they looked like they hadn't been mopped in weeks :( The other issue is my poor dog was sick in the middle of the night on the floor - and the vomit I guess leaked between the board joins and now they have bubbled up on the edges... right in the middle of our entrance hallway. On the plus side, I cannot see any scratches, not even one, which is amazing considering what our children do to them. We have a couple of little dents where things have been dropped - eg one right outside the pantry where a can must been dropped, but this sort of damage would happen to any floor after so I don't have an issue with that at all. For the price of this product they really need to work on the finish of the product. I probably wouldn't buy this particular floor again (colonial blackbutt) until they come up with a finish that doesn't show every foot print straight after mopping (I follow the guidelines of mopping and have even tried using different methods but it all ends the same with footprints showing everywhere!) So it's a good floor but I'm really disappointed with the look of the finish after a few footprints.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Is Quickstep Classic laminate scratch resistant and waterproof with longevity, or is Hybrid vinyl better and more hard Wearing?
1 answer
Technical Services Q.Quick-Step Flooring
Good afternoon Mary,
Yes, Quick-Step Classic is highly scratch resistant and comes with a 5 year wet damage warranty.
Laminate flooring is more resistant to scratch, scuff and stains than vinyl or hybrid flooring. This is because vinyl flooring is coated with a type of lacquer that is nowhere durable as the high quality melamine surface of Quick-Step laminate.
Kind regards, The Team at Quick-Step Australia

I was told that the Quick step Classic laminate flooring was scratch resistant and waterproof. Are there any reviews of durability and longevity of this product and is it better than hybrid Vinyl flooring. Thanks Mary

Technical Services Q.Quick-Step Flooring
Good afternoon Mary,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding our Quick-Step 8mm Classic Laminate Flooring.
Quick-Step Laminate flooring is widely regarded as the best product of it's type in the world.
No hard flooring product available warrants against marking or scratching as such manufactures talk in degrees of resistance. Similarly no hard floor producer gives a 100% guarantee against water damage so manufacturers talk in degrees or types of resistance.
Quick-Step Classic is highly resistant to marks and scratches shown through many happy customers since the launch of Quick-Step Laminates in Australia in 1996.
Now with new waterproof surface we guarantee against water damage for 5 years from installation (excluding flooding or appliance failure).
Many thousands of Australians happily live on their Quick-Step floors for many many years with great satisfaction however such customers rarely bother with product reviews.
Our long term partners and retailers are really the best people to provide direct customer reviews.
Please let us know where you are located and we can provide you with the closest high quality Quick-Step Retailer to you.

Technical Services Q.Quick-Step Flooring
Good afternoon Tina,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding Quick-Step Eligna EL3581 Newcastle Oak Dark Laminate Flooring.
It is quite a dark floor and would come down to personal preference, size of the areas you want to install the floor and the light source i.e. natural light vs artificial lighting. On page 3 of our current laminate catalogue is a dining room shot https://www.quick-step.com.au/en-au/laminate/eligna/el3581_newcastle-oak-dark
If you go into a retail store you can view a sample of the board, some retailers let you take a sample board home for a few days so you can see how it looks in your home.

pid me for leaving the doors open!, used towels and a dry mop all good, was worried I would have some of the laminate boards warp / buckle not nothing at all. The only downside I can point out is you can see the odd footmark walking in bare feet, but that would be the same for any type of flooring that is shiny.
