The booking service was splendid. 6.30 am on a Sunday morning. Plumber Joe arrived within a hour. He took to the task with gusto and went well beyond expectations in attempting to establish the cause of problem which eventually was determined to fall within the responsibility zone of Yarra Valley Water. The call out was prompt and efficient BUT the phone contact with RACV Home Assist was scrambled with no accurate direction about the process of how help could be accessed and what help was available.

Imagine being out of hot water during this crisis ? I managed to get straight through with barely a minute of waiting time. The plumber cheerfully arrived within the hour, even politely notifying that he was on his way as he had just finished his other callout. Then as he arrived he managed to diagnose and solve the problem immediately. ;) I now have hot water !
I have used home assist on several occasions over the years and was always impressed with the cheerful efficiency and skilled service of the wonderful people that worked with the RACV.
The plumber arrived on time. He was polite and knowledgeable. He offered options to facilitate good decision making in terms of next steps. He temporarily fixed the problem whilst I'm waiting for a quote for a replacement.
I had a leaking mixer tap and was advised the service person would arrive within an hour, which he did.
Trevor identified the problem almost immediately. He had a replacement part in his van and totally completed the job in 10 minutes.

I cannot praise RACV Home Assist enough, especially for this call out! Prompt, as usual, cheerful and obliging as usual. This is the third call out for us and never had a problem, above and beyond the call of duty installing a Smoke Alarm!!
It's like having my RACV husband!
Water was not running away in the shower and started coming over the rim of the shower base on to the floor and then under the door on to the carpet in the hallway. A very friendly plumber (Ray) arrived within the estimated one hour and established that a tree stump was causing the blockage.
After vigourously digging away at the stump (intermittently checking the shower). the water began to flow freely again - all was well.

The service was beyond good. The plumber was excellent. It was fixed within 1hr of the call. He knew what he was doing and fixed the problem exceptionally fast. We could not have fixed the problem ourselves. The staff on the phone were also polite, helpful and basicaly first rate.

Terrible - No concern
Senior plumber arrived, viewed the mains pipe which had been split with a spade, advised us to go to Bunnings, which he said would be busy and packed, stand in the queue to purchase 2 joints and a length of pipe, bring all the items back and repair ourselves. A mains pipe - we have no water for toilet or washing. Virus - we are adhering to Stay At Home! Emergency Assist Help Desk were told by their own people to tell us someone would arrive Wednesday (this is Saturday) and give a quote then arrange to get it fixed.
We appreciate it is Easter however, it advertises itself as 24/7 for emergencies. Seeking refund of insurance.
Help When You Need It
I woke up to no power! The switch in the meter box had tripped so I unplugged all appliances. It still tripped the switch. A call to RACV Home assist & they were here within an hour. Quick, knowledgeable, friendly, good advice--problem solved before the fridge defrosted!

Necessary for peace of mind
This was our second call to RACV home assist, both times the service men arrived within 20 minutes. Friendly service and efficient, worth the money and for peace of mind. Highly recommended!
Fixed the problem
This was our first experience with RACV Emergency Home Assist and it worked very well - the plumber came within the hour and fixed the problem in half an hour - wonderful.
our Technician was N Visser. He was most helpful and tried his hardest to resolve the problem. Unfortunately it could not be solved at the time so await further work from same company.
Cedric was fantastic - such a stressful problem solved right in the middle of the holidays - had a previous visit but finally found the problem - arrived promptly and we were able to have a nice shower.

Where do I download a claim form?
As far as I know, there are no claim forms. One simply 'phones the RACV and tells them what the problem is - and they send out a tradie within one hour. No forms - so straightforward! Les
We do not have claims form available.
You can lodge your claim online, you can logged into Racv.com.au and sign into your Membership portal, click 'Make a Claim' next to the relevant policy. Please note that your internet browser must have pop-ups enabled to get into the claim’s page.
If you are unable to proceed online, please call claims on 13 19 03 anytime 24/7. They are usually less busy after 6 pm every night and on weekends.
