We received a home loan from them and had money in our redraw but every time the money disappeared. Tried calling so many times but the people said they cannot tell us where the money went have to wait and call back. Called again and same thing happened. They never have the straight answers, half the time people don't know what is going on and you have to go through multiple people or wait a number of days before even explaining what is happening.

incompetent
I wish I went with ANYBODY else. Online banking horrendous, app is even worse. Extremely high fees. No customer service. No Debit cards to access your money on offset accounts, they use eftpos, didn’t even know they existed anymore

empty promises. no customer service. high fees.
I currently have a home loan with you. Each time I’ve contact customer service I’ve had a horrible experience.
The very first time was when I got a message to say that my direct debit of $50 for the construction loan was overdue. I called to rectify this straight away as I am never late in any of my bills. When I called the call centre I spoke with this very rude and abrupt lady, she implied that I was crazy as “RAMS don’t do direct debit as it is illegal” she would not let me speak, shut me down each time I said my previous construction prog...Read more
ress payments were being direct debited. She got frustrated with me and said she will transfer me to someone else. This was very stressful for me, being my first home loan I really didn’t want to get on a bad start. I finally got through to another RAMS representative and I had to start the call like new. Full ID check, had to relay what my enquire was and what happened in the last call. This lady was nice and very helpful, unfortunately the first person I spoke with didn’t leave any notes so the second representative was unsure what she was talking about. She explained to me that direct debit is normal, the only reason I got the message was due to the public holiday and it will get processed following business day -nothing to worry about. The second time I called was to discuss what to do when my construction loan is completed. I called the call centre. They said they weren’t too sure but to call the person that set up my home loan account. Once I advised that they are no longer open she then referred me to the closest RAMS office to enquire. I believe it was RAMS Mooloolaba, I spoke to a lady that was extremely rude. I wish that call was recorded and she was extremely condescending, she would not answer my questions and told me to call the call centre. When I asked her if I could get the valuation that my house was valued at she said that RAMS don’t do a proper evaluation, someone only goes out to make sure the house is completed after the build. This I found annoying as when I first signed up with you, [name removed] was my loan advisor, he said that we would get a valuation of the home once completed. So am feeling deceived as now I need to pay to have one completed. Then I called to simply request my bank details be updated as I simply changed banks. I thought I could do this over the phone like any other company. But no, I I was sent a form to complete. I completed and emailed the form back, only to receive it back again to say it was missing information. I had to print the whole form again since the last one was chucked in the bin. I don’t hear anything. I tried calling, long wait in the queue, couldn’t get through. Then get an email to say to call RAMS. The call centre isn’t exactly to get a hold of. But I tried, couldn’t get through. Now to my most recent events with RAMS. The end of my construction loan. I received a letter to call RAMS to get my change over fee waived. Great. Called through, no you can’t change until a week before the 1st of April 2020. Alright, Called a couple of days before then, spoke to a gentleman, didn’t catch his name, he said good news we can waive all fees and you can get an interest rate of 2.79% without any prompting. I thought this was great as I was considering refinancing for a similar interest rate. I also wanting to change my monthly payments to weekly or fortnightly as that works better for us. He said I was entitled to all these changes. But he can’t do anything until the 1st of April 2020.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Used to be personal and flexible. Not anymore.
I"m charged 4.12% for P&I investment loan. Their advertised rates are much lower, Other banks offer even lower rates. When I pointed these out to RAMS they do the usual merry-go-round between customer support and branch / franchise staff. If you are considering an investment loan don't go here. I'm moving to online lender at 2.69% with similar terms.

Unconscionable and exploitative lender.
The ruthless franchise model of RAMS branches is not compatible with customer-focused solutions. Complaints to the escalated team are routinely ignored. Emails to RAMS are ignored. Our dealings with RAMS South East have been nothing short of a shambles. We have observed 4 separate staff members who have departed (as evidenced by automatic email replies advising of their departure) which makes communication all the more difficult. We were assured in writing when we applied for the loan that after 3 consecutive years of clear repayment history, w...Read more
e would revert to full doc and obtain an interest rate reduction of 1% less (we are currently obtaining an exploitative rate of 4.26%). However we understand based on a conversation with customer service that RAMS has reneged on this policy. I understand RAMS will soon be rebranded as Westpac. The sooner that happens, the better.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Would not recommend!!
Already had a Home Loan with them and went for a loan increase to pay out a credit card.
Found out that the franchise we used was no longer and got the Docs from Rams (December). Filled out and got told we needed to go through the local Franchise.
Needed to fill out more paperwork and send more docs through. Rang Feb only to find out local guys had not even sent through. Got told all was OK and they would reply within the week.
After a month of more docs to send through we still heard nothing. Rang to follow up and got told we could n...Read more
ot get the increase due to a business we had years ago. So after a 4 month wait, a check on our credit file, and no increase after being told multiple times that all was great, the only thing they offered was a reduced interest rate to their current 2.74%. Would strongly avoid due to the poor customer service from the Franchise and Rams themselves as a current customer. Read the reviews ALOT of customers have had the same experience.Similar opinion? Completely useless
Had two brokers through the process of getting a home loan, completely useless went to Bankwest and all done in 4 days approved.
I would not recomend Rams to anyone. Unless they want to waste time.

Worst experience ever!
We got a home loan through Rams in 2018. Once we added the construction part to it they were completely hopeless and extremely unprofessional.
As we went to settle on our new home they advised us of an almost $25,000 shortfall. Money we also paid for our driveway and landscaping had “disappeared”.
They can give no explanation as to how this happened.
We had to come up with additional funds as Rams would do nothing to help us.
We have gotten lawyers involved and now going to court and making complaints to the Australian financial complaints.
The lack of care and empathy showed from RAMS is absolutely disgusting.
We can’t even get a phone call returned.
I’d strongly recommend never banking with RAMS.

Lack of customer service!
Recently I had really bad experience with this company. I am their long term customer. Their customer service team is lack of responsibility nowadays. They are Not helpful even I have submitted an URGENT request. They are trying to delay my HL request and keep the high interest rate! Find another home loan lender if you can. Stay away from RAMS!

Cancelling home and contents insurance
Home and contents insurance was good to begin with, but when the insurance was up for renewal I got a better deal elsewhere, so I rang Rams to cancel which they said they cancelled. 3 Months later still taking money out monthly despite insurance being cancelled.

Bad Start but Can't Fault Now
RAMS Norwest were recommend by our broker due to competitive interest rates and the loan structure we required. Initially I wasn't happy with a couple of things which caused a few head aches during the settlement process. This was mainly due to the representative on their side (Jehan) being a little incompetent. These were worked through and sorted but took quite a bit of work on our side. We obtained a construction loan and since being handed over to the current team couldn't be happier. RAMS have been easy to deal with, available and always p...Read more
ass on the rates cuts in some capacity. Additionally, they recently assessed our current loan and found that there was cheaper funding available. They reduced our rate by over 0.6% without a review being requested. I think this represents a proactive approach to lending and we would happily recommend RAMS.Similar opinion? Hidden costs and average service
You will pay a yearly fee for the remainder of the loan and that on top of the interest charged by westpack, better deals out there dont be fooled by the sheep

Worst service and hidden costs!
Rams have hidden solicitor costs when you try to refinance from them, because they have high interest rates of course. The solicitor costs are $1000-$2000 BUT they don't tell you how much when you sign up. In the contract/fees and charges schedule, it just says exit fee 295 and any legal fees. Kim Dao is one of the loan managers and avoid her! She is a manipulative and dishonest sales person!

Absolutely terrible service at Parramatta
Went in around December last year (December 2018) and the James took so long just to submit my application to head office claiming he was busy. They are a franchise and can not see what is happening at head office.
The settlement was around Feb and was hoping this would happen before Christmas closure but he had sat with my file for around 3 weeks. Cancelled my application and went with different lender. The other lender was so much better and efficient.

Excellent customer service
I applied for a home loan with RAMS and met with Darren from Southern Vales office. As I was doing a construction loan there were some delays and challenges throughout the process (nothing to do with RAMS, and everything to do with the builders etc) and Darren was patient and professional throughout the whole process.
Darren provided me with all the information I could possibly need, and made the loan side of things stress free. Would definitely recommend RAMS at Southern Vales to anyone needing a home loan.

Horrendous
Rams took two months to get a a response from Westpac. They mucked us around the whole time throughout the two months, not getting back when they said they would, not returning call, demanding information already provided and ridiculous information such as references from my government employment, would not be pinned down to an interest rate (saying should be around 4% but we will see how it goes), problems with valuations...So we ended up being offered a 15 year loan when we needed 30 years, a 5% interest rate, $9,000 mortgage insurance, then ...Read more
the icing on the cake was when they said that they do not lend in the area we wanted to buy (an establish country town 20kms fro Toowoomba. SO...we ended up with CBA. Took 1 week to get the approval. 3.5% interest. 30 years. Minimal documents. Over-the-phone application. No mortgage insurance!!! The area was not in question. We are now in our dream home. Leon and Owen at RAMS Toowoomba made us feel humiliated, frustrated, almost sank our faith that we were worthwhile prospects for a loan, dejected, sad, angry, and depressed. Moreover, their product would have cost us tens of thousands of dollars more. Thank God we ended up with another lender. My advice? Go to a major lender. That brokers save you time, effort, and money is an outright deception.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Can get the loan but systems and customer service are terrible. Avoid!
RAMS approved homeloan. It was at a bad time so I waited around 4months before getting an answer (first home buyers was ending so there were alot of applications at once). Since having my homeloan I have discovered that RAMS systems are absolutely terrible. Account balances and available credit shown within accounts is always incorrect. This is extremely unreliable and you therefore cannot actually use your bank as you SHOULD be able to! This has resulted in payments that have not gone through, affected my credit score etc. Staff give inconsist...Read more

Rams Southern Vales....Excellent!
In establishing my home loan Darren at Southern Vales service was fantastic. He understood exactly what I required was efficient, prompt and thoroughly knew his product. All I had to do was provide relevant documentation when requested, he took care of the rest. I have and will continue to recommend Darren to anyone I know looking for a home loan. Cheers Darren

Don’t bother going with RAMS
We sent all documents to RAMS Ballarat to assess our borrowing capacity and got no reply whatsoever. With this attitude to clients, I can only imagine what would happen if we proceed with getting the actual loan.

When I try to move/transfer money online from my account for three days I have the message "We weren't able to load this page. Refresh". Is this happening to me only? or is this a Rams online problem?

Why does RAMS take 24 to 48 hours to send out a statement? My bank Commonwealth does it immediatly. RAMS wants me to save with them but cannot act like a savings bank.
