Great service
My husband purchased a bike online for me. Bike was too big for me, contacted Reid Cycles via email & they sent exchanger/refund terms. I rang Nth Melb. store, said bring bike in which we did. Exchanged the bike, no problems & excellent customer service, via phone & in store.

You be the judge
I recently purchased the the Granite 2.0 from the Reid bicycle shop in Adelaide. After a week of riding the bike I returned it for an inspection. The bike wasn’t holding gears and I was experiencing major chain rattle in 95% of the gears. I dropped off the bike early one morning and was advised that I would be contacted that afternoon to collect it. I didn’t receive a returned call. I phoned the next day and was advised that they had been really busy (hence the lack of a returned call) but that the bike was ready for collection. When I we...Read more
nt to collect the bike, the employee advised that I had now used my free service. I questioned this, suggesting that I wouldn’t have had to use the free service if the gears were correctly calibrated. The employee responded by stating that what I had experienced was normal and occurs during the break in process because the chain will stretch a little. I didn’t dispute this as I didn’t know any better. However, when I was disappointed to find out that the bike was no better. The rattle was still there and the bike would still jump out of some gears. After another two weeks of riding the bike, a new issue surfaced where the bike would consistently start to skip on the chain after the same amount of rotations. An inspection of the bike revealed that a chain had broken. I decided to get a second opinion from the team at Treadleys. They replaced the chain and recalibrated the gears - $75.00 later (which is additional to the extra Reid services I paid for when I purchased the bike) and the bike runs like an absolute dream. Apparently the chain rattle was the result of the original chain being too wide for the bike. From my experience, there is nothing wrong with Reid bikes... the same cant be said about the service received.

Terrible service to fix faulty new bike
Bought a brand new mountain bike, have only ridden it four times and one of the pedals feel off, I drop it off for repair in December and its now February and they still haven't done anything!
Have emailed them and phoned a few times, they say they don't have any cranks in stock and will have to order them but in the almost 2 months my bike has been in the shop they still haven't placed an order!

Poor after sales service
Nearly one month ago I bought a Reied Ospray from Melbourne store. From the day one I started to ride, I noticed the chain is getting rubbed against the front derailleur. I rang the store and I was asked bring the bike the store. When I went to the store one guy rode the bike in the store and said there is nothing wrong with the derailleur adjustment even though chain was touching the derailleure. When I brought this to there notice, they told that this is the maximum they can adjust and the can’t make it perfect and every bike is having the ...Read more
same issue. After tht they suggested to attach a tape on the derailleur to avoid the sound caused by the chain rub.I am totally disappointed the way they handle the issue. They are so unprofessional. After came home I went through a few of the youtube video clips and I was able to fix the issue by my self.I will never recommend this store to any one in future. It is always better to do a test before you make the payment.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cheap quality and bad service. Stay Away.
Bought the Urban X3 wanting a reliable commuter. Bike let me down twice in a three months. First the crank/pedal came completely off whilst riding. Second the chain/rear derailer got caught in the rear wheel and caused over $300 worth of damage and Reid won't take responsibility for this. Their response is that if I am not going to pay for them to fix their issue then to come and collect the bike because it is taking up workshop space. What a complete waste of money. Best to spend a little more on a brand that will give you a bike that will last at least a year and look after you on the road.

Not worth your time or money
Bought bike with promise of 2 free services in 12 months. Also purchased 2yr extended warranty for peace of mind. Got 1st Service after 4 Months (though didn't look like much was done). This was 1 week before they closed their Brissy store. No notification to me of them closing. Show up to store location 2 months later to find they weren't there anymore. My pedal had broken off at the joint. So had to deal with it via post. I have a MTB Pro mountain bike, and they send me a pair of el-cheapo plain, smooth plastic ones (the kind you get at kmart...Read more
or target that cost $5). Got back on to them that they weren't anything like the grippy pedals I had on bike originally. So they sent me another set which was like the first except made from metal (alloy). Still not originals. Decided to let that fly. They told me they weren't going to honour the free service and any fixes under my extended warranted would need to be posted to them at my cost. Recently my free-hub body stopped engaging properly and needed to be replaced. Bike wheel was couriered to them and they took 4 weeks to send it back only to have the exact same problem - ie. nothing was done. Their demeanour on the phone is always condescending. These guys need to be put out of business. Please dont ignore the negative reviews on here.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bike left me injured after manufacturing fault and took over 3 months to get bike fixed.
The worst customer service I have ever received. Trust the other negative reviews, it just isnt worth it.
I have had the bike for less than 2 years, only used for commuting to and from work. While I was riding to work in January 2018 the pedal crank arm snapped and gouge a large chunk from my leg. An ambulance ride to the hospital and a large amount of sticthes later I was back home. I emailed Reids head office to let the know of the fault, as the pedal arm cranks are not meant to just snap like that, and asked to get my bike fixed. They wer...Read more
e nice about it and told me they will send an email to the local store to get in contact with me. After a few weeks of nothing I tried to ring and email the local store and no one would answer. I then got in contact with the head office (via email) and they got the local store to contact me. At this point it is about a month of just trying to get in contact with them, so when I finally do, they inform me it will be ANOTHER 4 WEEKS before I can bring my bike into be fixed. This is annoying but sure, they are busy and moving shop so I let it slide. 4 weeks later I bring my bike in to get fixed, they have not even ordered any parts in, even though it has been 2 months since initial contact, I have to wait ANOTHER 2-3 weeks. 4 WEEKS go past and do not hear a thing so I go into the local store where my bike is. THE PART HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED AND WOULD BE ANOTHER 2-3 WEEKS. This was obviously ridiculous so I rang the head office and they finally agreed to express post my part out BUT only after I asked for them to refund the cost of my bike. The bike was fixed that week and now I finally have it back You would think that after a faulty part physically hurt me resulting in me going to hospital, and now massive scar on my leg, that they would have bent over backwards to get it fixed. My tip, NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM REID CYCLES.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bought my urban X2 bike to start riding again after 10years of non riding. Am so happy with my slick matte black bike!I got So comfortable to ride and fast! Just using the bike to recreational riding by myself or with my 5yr old son. I'd received good customer service and advice from Reid cycle shop. Great value for what you get in a bike. Highly recommended!

Great bikes
I have bought two bikes from Reid, one Reid Falco and one Reid Xenon. I have been using them for more than 2 years and I am extremely satisfied. They work perfectly and they were very cheap.

Good value
Bought a Reid Urban x2 for commuting, i live on the second floor of a unit block with no lift so i wanted something that wasn't going to be too heavy to carry up. Also didn't want to buy something cheap and nasty which would make me not want to cycle.
Im new to cycling and so im probably not the best person to make the following comments. I am very picky and didnt like a few minor things on the bike. Did a few personal tweaks, tighten the brakes and twist the handle bar grips. But overall im very happy with the bike.

ear changes, pretty sure it was related to the original install of the derailleur and took it back. The store seems to have been really busy everytime i was up there, when i took it back they did fix it that afternoon in an hour although the tech seemed a bit reluctan. But in his defense no-one had told him i was dropping past, it was mid afternoon on the weekend and it looked like the poor chap had two other bikes he was already working on. Also I have to say i ordered the bike a week before Christmas and was amazed they got it ready, as they had no stock at the store. so i was quite impressed about that. Store staff were friendly, and they don't try to sell you everything under the sun, although the Sydney store doesn't have a massive range of things.Similar opinion? Reid Harrier
I required a commuter bike and wanted to keep the cost down so received my Reid Harrier, delivered to North Queensland for $268. For the money it was great value, rolls well, fast, a reasonable soft ride for 25 tyres. Seems to be reasonably bullet proof. I do a lot of road cycling as well and must say I'm impressed with the new purchase

Amazing calue for money & exceptional customer service
Ordered the Reid X-trail for our teen son yesterday, got an email this morning to say it’s ready! Picked it up at the Newtown store a couple of hrs ago & experienced exceptional customer service (unfortunately didn’t get the employees name). Not only did he install a drink bottle holder we purchased, but also threw in a bike lock & pump for free. We were also told to bring the bike back for a service in 3 months time as we are entitled to 2 free services! Nice surprise!
The bike itself is FANTASTIC! It looks incredible & handles beautifully, n...Read more

Great Service, Great Bike ... so far
I see there are a lot of negative reviews on REID. I own a Cannondale and a custom GTR from Germany, which were trashed by people borrowing them. I was returning from a meeting and noticed the Adelaide REID store and popped in for a look. Whilst the components are not the same standard as on the other two, they are still quality (shimano etc). I found the sales staff to be very helpful and not pushing to sell me the most expensive model, but one which was fit for purpose and after riding it, I find it to be nearly as good as the other two bikes...Read more
at a cost much cheaper than repairing them. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but I had a very positive experience from the Adelaide store and would return there. Hopefully the reviews are incorrect and the warranty and included servicing will be honoured. I suspect it's how you treat some sales people as to the standard of service you get.Similar opinion? Reid must honour their 12 month free service promise
Hundreds of people in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth have bought bikes from Reid Cycles with the promise they would provide 12 months free service, only to find the stores closed weeks later and the company refusing to honour their commitment. Reid continued to advertise the service commitment knowing they were closing these stores, a breach of consumer laws in all states. I bought two bikes from their Sydney store in April and they closed their doors two weeks later, and all Reid will do is say bad luck. I have already had to spend $90 to replace ...Read more
a faulty wheel, and expect to spend hundreds more. I am not going to accept this rip off. I am proceeding with a complaint through the consumer tribunal (http://www.ncat.nsw.gov.au/Pages/cc/Divisions/consumer_claims.aspx), I urge all those who have had the same experience to join me. I am demanding the Reid agree to pay for all service needed for the bikes I bought, to be provided by the bike shop of my choice (people who aren't shonks).Similar opinion? Reid Cycles refuse to honour included servicing
I purchased a Reid Cycles bike as the sales assistant emphasised the purchase price included 12 months of servicing. Reid Cycles recently closed their Sydney store and failed to inform customers. Rather than put in place arrangements, they are refusing honour any servicing claims.
As seems to be the trend with reviews on here, Reid Cycles offer decent bikes but ABYSMAL customer service.

Inferior parts and rushed construction
The bicycles are cheap and 'in style', but be prepared to add 100 dollars to the price to get the bike into good condition. The tubes on my first purchase a couple of years ago punctured almost immediately, the chain broke and the tape lining the inner wheels to 'protect' the inner tube was so poor that a bike mechanic at another store I found (after trying a couple of others who failed to fix the underlying issue) exclaimed in shock that someone would happily sell something so shoddy. He fixed it up well and I haven't had an issue with it sinc...Read more
e. Now, on my second purchase having decided that the first might have just been an aberration, the rear tube punctured on my second ride! A fault of the tape lining the inner wheel, no doubt. I sighed, "Oh well, here we go again." This time, however, the wheels are fixed to the frame with cheap nuts made of a metal so malleable that I can't get the last one off. The bloody thing is nearly round. I'll fix it somehow, but if you're buying a bike from them check it over thoroughly, maybe ask them to loosen the bolts just so you know they'll come off. Check the chain, make sure the wheels and chain rings aren't buckled and be prepared for trouble. Update: I took the bike to the hardware store and they managed to get the nut of with a tool similar to a multi-grip. The fault turned out to be with the tube. There's a fine hole along an irregular seam at a point where the tube 'dips' for lack of a better word. I can't say I've ever seen a tube with such a defect before. Cheap, cheap.Similar opinion? Unpleasant customer service.
in the last week
These guys were so rude. I ordered a bike for my daughter and it arrived as ordered but there was damage to the insert for the handle bars. Rang to see if I could get it fixed for Xmas. Was told to go to my local bike store to sort it out! And then when I was told that a spare could be ordered but at charge - I made a comment about the fee and was rudely told that i should be charged, as I probably made the damage from 'hammering it in'. Thankfully the team at Wooly's Wheels in Paddigton were so nice and. sorted it out on th...Read more

Suffi A.asked
Do you offer full assembly of a bike if I were to purchase one in person from a physical store? I am pretty sure I can follow your pdf guide but the gear and brake installation part just unnerves me and I'd rather have someone pro do it for me. If yes does this post-purchase service come with extra fee?
