You be the judge
I recently purchased the the Granite 2.0 from the Reid bicycle shop in Adelaide. After a week of riding the bike I returned it for an inspection. The bike wasn’t holding gears and I was experiencing major chain rattle in 95% of the gears. I dropped off the bike early one morning and was advised that I would be contacted that afternoon to collect it. I didn’t receive a returned call. I phoned the next day and was advised that they had been really busy (hence the lack of a returned call) but that the bike was ready for collection. When I we...Read more
nt to collect the bike, the employee advised that I had now used my free service. I questioned this, suggesting that I wouldn’t have had to use the free service if the gears were correctly calibrated. The employee responded by stating that what I had experienced was normal and occurs during the break in process because the chain will stretch a little. I didn’t dispute this as I didn’t know any better. However, when I was disappointed to find out that the bike was no better. The rattle was still there and the bike would still jump out of some gears. After another two weeks of riding the bike, a new issue surfaced where the bike would consistently start to skip on the chain after the same amount of rotations. An inspection of the bike revealed that a chain had broken. I decided to get a second opinion from the team at Treadleys. They replaced the chain and recalibrated the gears - $75.00 later (which is additional to the extra Reid services I paid for when I purchased the bike) and the bike runs like an absolute dream. Apparently the chain rattle was the result of the original chain being too wide for the bike. From my experience, there is nothing wrong with Reid bikes... the same cant be said about the service received.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bike left me injured after manufacturing fault and took over 3 months to get bike fixed.
The worst customer service I have ever received. Trust the other negative reviews, it just isnt worth it.
I have had the bike for less than 2 years, only used for commuting to and from work. While I was riding to work in January 2018 the pedal crank arm snapped and gouge a large chunk from my leg. An ambulance ride to the hospital and a large amount of sticthes later I was back home. I emailed Reids head office to let the know of the fault, as the pedal arm cranks are not meant to just snap like that, and asked to get my bike fixed. They wer...Read more
e nice about it and told me they will send an email to the local store to get in contact with me. After a few weeks of nothing I tried to ring and email the local store and no one would answer. I then got in contact with the head office (via email) and they got the local store to contact me. At this point it is about a month of just trying to get in contact with them, so when I finally do, they inform me it will be ANOTHER 4 WEEKS before I can bring my bike into be fixed. This is annoying but sure, they are busy and moving shop so I let it slide. 4 weeks later I bring my bike in to get fixed, they have not even ordered any parts in, even though it has been 2 months since initial contact, I have to wait ANOTHER 2-3 weeks. 4 WEEKS go past and do not hear a thing so I go into the local store where my bike is. THE PART HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED AND WOULD BE ANOTHER 2-3 WEEKS. This was obviously ridiculous so I rang the head office and they finally agreed to express post my part out BUT only after I asked for them to refund the cost of my bike. The bike was fixed that week and now I finally have it back You would think that after a faulty part physically hurt me resulting in me going to hospital, and now massive scar on my leg, that they would have bent over backwards to get it fixed. My tip, NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM REID CYCLES.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Perfect bike!
Bought my urban X2 bike to start riding again after 10years of non riding. Am so happy with my slick matte black bike!I got So comfortable to ride and fast! Just using the bike to recreational riding by myself or with my 5yr old son. I'd received good customer service and advice from Reid cycle shop. Great value for what you get in a bike. Highly recommended!

Great Service, Great Bike ... so far
I see there are a lot of negative reviews on REID. I own a Cannondale and a custom GTR from Germany, which were trashed by people borrowing them. I was returning from a meeting and noticed the Adelaide REID store and popped in for a look. Whilst the components are not the same standard as on the other two, they are still quality (shimano etc). I found the sales staff to be very helpful and not pushing to sell me the most expensive model, but one which was fit for purpose and after riding it, I find it to be nearly as good as the other two bikes...Read more
at a cost much cheaper than repairing them. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews, but I had a very positive experience from the Adelaide store and would return there. Hopefully the reviews are incorrect and the warranty and included servicing will be honoured. I suspect it's how you treat some sales people as to the standard of service you get.Similar opinion? Adelaide store and my Granite purchase
Big thanks to the Adelaide Reid team. I've visited the store 4 times over the last month, as well as several other dealers. All staff I dealt with were very helpful. This lead to 5 test rides over two days (thanks to the female staff member for her patience!!), and then the decision to buy the Granite. The bike I was going to take had a very minor issue that I could have lived with while the bike was being broken in, but the team built one for me out of the box within 24 hours, and on a busy long weekend. Picked it up today and gave it a reasonable run. So far so good. Thanks team.

Great Product for the Price Good after market service
Bought a Osprey Elite 2016 Model Road Bike online off Reid. Rang the store about two days later to see how long my click and collect would take to be told that it probably would take another 6 days to my disappointment. The girl there though popped me on hold and went for a look around and found one already assembled in the store and said I could have that one instead if I wanted something ASAP. I appreciate her going out of my way to remedy the longer wait time. Went into the store to pick up the bike, both girls working were personable and he...Read more
lpful. Got the bike home and unfortunately the gears hadn't been properly tuned so the bike wouldn't get into the high gears at all and it would continually slips gears (most likely to being an on the floor bike). Rang the store today and spoke to a nice bloke called Tom who told me to bring it in and they would fix it up right away. I work in retail as a store manager and I know that things don't always go as planned and staff have limited control over material products regardless of their quality. What does matter is how staff handle issues as they arise. In both points Reid Adelaide has gone out of their way to offer me a solution. Much appreciated. As a seasoned rider, the quality of the parts are insanely good for the price. Will be back and will recommend to friends.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

How can the shop staff not know about Special Deals?
Hi,
I bought my Vintage Ladies 7 speed Lite on Sep 24, 2015 from Adelaide shop. As the email from Reid, I was noticed that I would receive Free Deluxe Basket and Liner when buying 7 speed Lite.
But the staff did not know about that and asked me to show where I knew that info. Then I showed the email and they gave me free basket and liner, but when I came back home, I found that the one I got was not Deluxe basket, just the Standard one. I like "big structure" of the style of Deluxe basket (the same Big of 2 rings around the basket) but wh...Read more
ere I live which is 30 mins driving away from the shop, it is inconvenient for me to go back the shop to change. It made me sad as I don't know how the staff cannot know the right info then cause inconvenience for the customer like that. So sad!!! Amin3 comments

Bike delayed - they promised to arrive mid-january the latest, now 3wks overdue and counting
I ordered a bike during the boxing day sale from reid cycles Adelaide. I paid the full amount on the day. They told me the bike will come by mid january the latest. Called them up many times, poor customer service! its been more than 3 weeks overdue, and they keep saying "sorry, it's not our fault, another 2 more weeks", every time. They forget what the order was. They dont keep there promises seriously, very disappointed with their customer service. I wouldnt recommend anyone to buy from here.

uently on the phone. Up till now, i havent received my bike yet. If you were in my situation, and i was 4 weeks overdue in paying you money - you'll be mad right? she did her job and was told it will come by mid jan the latest. But it's up to the business to ensure it arrives by then, not her. And if it comes late, to contact the customer that it's running later than expected but here's what i can do for you for the inconvenience etc. now that's the aspect of customer service i was talking about. Instead, i had to call reids many times and see what's happening with my order. But the man who picked up, should have at least made me feel they knew what my order was or whatever. Otherwise it makes you feel under-valued. If the business had let me known that there was issues with the delay which has been very long and unacceptable, at least to have physically contacted me, and offered me solutions: like adding/upgrading the bike or extra services etc. if i was made aware of these issues, then i would have considered purchasing a bike elsewhere to get it sooner. But i've been left hanging. And i still dont know when ill get my bike etc.David F.Reid Cycles
Hi Aussie. It was the Manager that was dismissed (not the lady who served you) - sorry, I can only work on assumptions as you haven't given your name. Please email Richie at Adelaide store [email protected] so he can sort this out.

A happy return to cycling
I went into the Adelaide store about two weeks ago to look for a bike. I spoke with Richie the store manager and after our discussion I settled on the Reid City 1.
A week later I contacted Richie and ordered the bike. I took delivery of the bike yesterday.
Richie was unable to be there so he handed over my order to Jye to complete.
Both Richie and Jye paid attention to my requirements in the bike I ordered and Jye's attention to detail was excellent. He helped me select some addition accessories I needed, including a set of pannier bags for when I need small items from the shops.
I will be recommending Reid Cycles to people I know who are looking for a bike.
The service I received exceeded my expectations. ...Read more
