Great service
My husband purchased a bike online for me. Bike was too big for me, contacted Reid Cycles via email & they sent exchanger/refund terms. I rang Nth Melb. store, said bring bike in which we did. Exchanged the bike, no problems & excellent customer service, via phone & in store.

Terrible service to fix faulty new bike
Bought a brand new mountain bike, have only ridden it four times and one of the pedals feel off, I drop it off for repair in December and its now February and they still haven't done anything!
Have emailed them and phoned a few times, they say they don't have any cranks in stock and will have to order them but in the almost 2 months my bike has been in the shop they still haven't placed an order!

Poor after sales service
Nearly one month ago I bought a Reied Ospray from Melbourne store. From the day one I started to ride, I noticed the chain is getting rubbed against the front derailleur. I rang the store and I was asked bring the bike the store. When I went to the store one guy rode the bike in the store and said there is nothing wrong with the derailleur adjustment even though chain was touching the derailleure. When I brought this to there notice, they told that this is the maximum they can adjust and the can’t make it perfect and every bike is having the ...Read more
same issue. After tht they suggested to attach a tape on the derailleur to avoid the sound caused by the chain rub.I am totally disappointed the way they handle the issue. They are so unprofessional. After came home I went through a few of the youtube video clips and I was able to fix the issue by my self.I will never recommend this store to any one in future. It is always better to do a test before you make the payment.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cheap quality and bad service. Stay Away.
Bought the Urban X3 wanting a reliable commuter. Bike let me down twice in a three months. First the crank/pedal came completely off whilst riding. Second the chain/rear derailer got caught in the rear wheel and caused over $300 worth of damage and Reid won't take responsibility for this. Their response is that if I am not going to pay for them to fix their issue then to come and collect the bike because it is taking up workshop space. What a complete waste of money. Best to spend a little more on a brand that will give you a bike that will last at least a year and look after you on the road.

Reid Harrier
I required a commuter bike and wanted to keep the cost down so received my Reid Harrier, delivered to North Queensland for $268. For the money it was great value, rolls well, fast, a reasonable soft ride for 25 tyres. Seems to be reasonably bullet proof. I do a lot of road cycling as well and must say I'm impressed with the new purchase

Inferior parts and rushed construction
The bicycles are cheap and 'in style', but be prepared to add 100 dollars to the price to get the bike into good condition. The tubes on my first purchase a couple of years ago punctured almost immediately, the chain broke and the tape lining the inner wheels to 'protect' the inner tube was so poor that a bike mechanic at another store I found (after trying a couple of others who failed to fix the underlying issue) exclaimed in shock that someone would happily sell something so shoddy. He fixed it up well and I haven't had an issue with it sinc...Read more
e. Now, on my second purchase having decided that the first might have just been an aberration, the rear tube punctured on my second ride! A fault of the tape lining the inner wheel, no doubt. I sighed, "Oh well, here we go again." This time, however, the wheels are fixed to the frame with cheap nuts made of a metal so malleable that I can't get the last one off. The bloody thing is nearly round. I'll fix it somehow, but if you're buying a bike from them check it over thoroughly, maybe ask them to loosen the bolts just so you know they'll come off. Check the chain, make sure the wheels and chain rings aren't buckled and be prepared for trouble. Update: I took the bike to the hardware store and they managed to get the nut of with a tool similar to a multi-grip. The fault turned out to be with the tube. There's a fine hole along an irregular seam at a point where the tube 'dips' for lack of a better word. I can't say I've ever seen a tube with such a defect before. Cheap, cheap.Similar opinion? Reid Xenon Mountain Bike
Bought this bike recently and had a great experience. The guys in the store were really helpful and knew what the were talking about. They didn't try to sell me anything - just steered me in the right direction based on what I needed the bike for.
Great work.
PS the bike is awesome!

Fantastic Service in store and via email
After recently purchasing a Reid Cycle through a third party seller (Never again), I contacted Reid customer service regarding the bike as incorrect accessories arrived and I had a question regarding the price.
Joseph in customer service went out of his way to assist me, ensuring the staff at the Melbourne store knew I was coming in for my bike build and ensuring they knew exactly what was needed.
When going to the store the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to assist me, showing me how to attach the new bike carrier I purchased for my tow bar etc.
This has been one of the best customer service experiences I have had in a long time.

Fantastic Service, Fantastic Bikes
Assembling my wife's Vintage Women's bike I ended up having a minor issue with a screw in the frame. The Head Office support was absolutely top notch, I was asked to bring the bike in (or post it back, but the former was easier for me) and it was swapped over for a new, assembled bike. While there I decided to purchase a second bike, just because of how great the experience had been. The Melbourne Sales Assistance was extremely helpful and great to deal with, and the bikes both my wife and I rode away with have been great to ride around on. We're from the Frankston area, and the trip into the city was easily worth it for both the customer service and the products themselves. Can't recommend Reid enough.

Perfect, Patient, Excellent Service! Top Notch!
Bought my bike earlier this week and collected my vintage ladies today, after riding a short distance, i thought it was not suitable as it might be too heavy for me, decided to bring it to Reid Melb to have it swapped to a Griffon. Andrew who introduced me to the bikes the first time was very patient, very knowledgable. He patiently assembled the griffon for me but when it was handed over to me, we realised it was way to big for me and it would be better for me to go back to a vintage. Throughout the whole process since the day i stepped into ...Read more
the shop, Andrew was always smiling, forever patient and forever with a 'no problem', 'no worries' attitude. I was extremely guilty but he was ever reassuring. This guy is a GEM! He deserves a promotion! I am new to the city, and if everyone in Melbourne is like Andrew, this city will certainly lives up to its name of being the most liveable city in the world!! BTW i love my vintage! it is a easy-to-ride bike! comfy!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Pedals fell off
Owned the bike for less than 3 weeks and the pedals almost fell off. Loose to the point of no traction could have seriously hurt me or worse. Customer service was none existent not even an apology, they offered to post me a new crank! Took the bike back got a refund, I was told by the mechanic that the are built on a production line and it wasn't their fault, take some ownership mate really! Micky mouse bikes shoddy workmanship and even worse customer service! I could go on but I will leave it there you have been warned!

Hi RW. Did you assemble the bike yourself or purchase in store? Please email [email protected]
The bike was assembled in your Melbourne shop. Don't try to make out this was my doing!

Very helpful
Massive thank you to Reid for doing their best to repair my bike. At first I was I concerned at the length of time it was taking to fix but found out that it was because they had to order in some special parts. It is now working better than ever and I am very happy with it.
They have great mechanics and kept me updated on the progress all the way.

More expensive than other brands
I bought a red vintage style ladies bike from Reid's the other day only to find exactly the same style bike at Kmart for $100 cheaper. The guy there told me you won't find them anywhere near his shops price in Melbourne. What a joke. Very unhappy!

Hi ArthurB. This is not a fair comparison at all. Our bikes have lifetime frame and fork warranty (Kmart offer nothing like this as their frames do not last), our bikes can come built from a mechanic ... Read more
(Kmart are boxed only), our bikes are SAI certified for safety because of the quality of components (Kmart are not). Ask someone who has experience with bikes to test ride the two brands and the difference will be clear.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Loving Reid Cycles!
We bought three bikes on the weekend in readiness for casual Summer cycling and I can't believe the value of these bikes! The vintage ladies bikes came in a package deal with helmet, light etc. Depending on the bike they have different package prices but all were really reasonable, particularly when we are not avid cyclists but just wanted something to get around on.
The only downside was the Melbourne store was absolutely packed! It meant we waited a while for service but, the number of customers certainly made me feel comfortable that we'd made the right choice.

Excellent customer service. Great light weight bikes
Just wanted to let you know that we visited Reid Cycles on Sunday 16th November. Our experience at the store was very positive. If I was doing a mystery shop all the employees working on the day deserved 10/10.
We had a lovely girl called look after us. She was very helpful and went out of her way to let my daughter ride a bike that was her correct size. The bike was not on display and she organised for one to be put together for her to ride. This was a mountain bike. After all her effort I asked if my daughter could try the ladies ...Read more
classical vintage bike only because I think they look good. Again she was prompt and was more than happy to organise it. She even let her ride it around the back of the store and then came out to see how she fits on the bike and rides it. Even while we were waiting for the bikes to be sent down many of the staff asked if we needed help. The service we received was far beyond what you expect to receive in other retails in general these days. Especially when the store was busy! Your staff should be commended on the service they deliver.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Specifications on website and actual product not match!!!
Bought X226 from melbourne store yesterday. On the way back, i checked and notice the Front Derailleur is Shimano Altus instead of Shimano Acera as stated in the website. I called and asked the staff, and they promised me will call me back on 7 Oct 2014. I did received a call from the staff, but he told me "There was an mistake on the website and the front derailleur of X226 should be Altus instead of Acera". Although they told me if I am not happy with the explanation, I can bring back the bike and have my money back, which I do not think this...Read more
is the right way as I paid for the price as advertised and I am expecting to get as advertised. I felt like being cheated, as their "so-called" mistake is not acceptable from a consumer point of view. They have updated the X226 specification on the website before the call, but luckily I have a screenshot of the bike specification and I can provide it as a proof anytime. Really disappointed with REID.1 comment
David F.Reid Cycles
Hi Cheng. Apologies for the spec error online - this was a mistake and has been rectified. As offered, we are happy to refund your purchase if you are not satisfied with this explanation. Altus is still good quality and very much fit for purpose.

Bargain bike, friendly shop service
I ordered a Reid City 1 commuter bike online a couple of weeks ago, with pick-up from Melbourne Store. I misread the email and arrived to pick it up before the bike was ready to go. Rather than send me away, the nice guys at the shop went out the back, found a bike and assembled it on the spot for me, and I was able to ride home that night. I've had the bike for a couple of weeks now, it's perfect for my cross town commute and it handles well with a fully loaded pair of cheap pannier bags on the back.
Good value commuter bike, helpful shop staff, free first service / tune-up.
The mudgards make using my apartment's wall-mounted bike racks difficult

Went in after work and had experienced rude service from other stores and thought oh here we go I'm gonna get another bad service as that's my expectation of bike shops.
So held my breath and went in as all I wanted was quotes.
Went over to the bike I seen online and didn't mind the look and the more I looked the more I liked. Two guys behind the counter were busy with other customers so I let it go and snooped the shop then I think one was busy on the computer so I slowly approached and he came over and just started talking to me about wha...Read more

Hi Daniel. I have passed your comment to the Manager at the store to review. The service level is usually better than this so please take your bike in next time it needs a tune.
No thanks It needed a tune and I paid for the highest tune. You would expect the best and not having to go home mid ride to adjust everything yourself. Good bike tho extremely happy with it. Would like you guys to release a full carbon bike tho

Do you offer full assembly of a bike if I were to purchase one in person from a physical store? I am pretty sure I can follow your pdf guide but the gear and brake installation part just unnerves me and I'd rather have someone pro do it for me. If yes does this post-purchase service come with extra fee?
