I ordered a vintage bike online. Apparently I ordered 2. I said I didn’t and when I went to check for my receipt I had not been emailed an invoice Or receipt for my order. However had been emailed a confirmation of when it was going to be delivered. Xavier kept saying I ordered 2, and it was my fault very arrogantly. I asked for a receipt he could not email me the receipt, apparently my fault again, I had a dud email he said. I was receiving other emails fine whilst waiting for the receipt. I had been charged for 2 bikes. I was told it would c...
Read moreost me $35 to return and I asked for this to be waived. He would not he said it’s not much money anyway he said. Again arrogantly. I never received a receipt and if I had I would of picked up their error of the order. As I confirmed my email address for the third time Xavier hung up on me. He threatened to hang up on me several times because I swore once. Only once. You would too if you were spoken to so condescending and arrogantly. Obviously Reid cycles are doing so well that they can treat people so horribly and arrogantly. And with COVID they are doing so well. maybe when this is over their BAD reputation will catch up with them and they will go broke. One can only hope.....
Booked in our 2 reid bikes for a full service on 20th May, 2020. On arrival mentioned both bikes gears had been slipping and on 1 bike the front wheel was making a rubbing sound on each rotation. On the first quick check we were informed we both needed new chains so we agreed to this. We weren't sure how long the service would take as they seemed quite busy, so we went away and were told we would receive a message when they were ready. Within the hour both bikes were ready for collection, which seemed like a short turnaround for a full service ...
Read more& new chain installation. Service, chains, chain installation & bottle of chain oil cost = $184.97. Ride home, 1 bike is still slipping gears so I call and I'm told to bring it back in and they will have a look, which we did 2 days later. 6 weeks later both bikes are still clunking and not changing gears smoothly and have been ridden only a few times. 2 days ago I get a flat tyre so take it another closer bike store and on mechanics inspection I find out I need another new CHAIN, new cassette, brake pads (as they are metal on metal) and new tyres. My question is... why was none of this found on the full service at Reid??? Why do I now need a brand new chain only having done under 100km in the last 6 weeks??? I now know the answer to the latter is that in the initial inspection of my bike, I should have been told I also needed a new cassette and that would've saved me the extra expense of now paying for another new chain. Feeling very disappointed & slightly ripped off.- 2 reviews
I purchased the Urban X3 6 months ago after having my Merida Speeder stolen, opting for a cheaper throw-away commuting bike. However, 5,000 km later I simply cannot believe how the Urban X3 has performed in all conditions, especially compared with my previous bike. It has out performed the Speeder in all areas with the exception of speed, which is only a nominal difference (avg speed has dropped by less than 1kmph). It is a robust, reliable, safe and cheap bike to maintain. Previously my services at 99 bikes for my Speeder was costing $180 on a...
Read morevg every 3 months whereas I have required only one service from Reid which cost $60. All components on the bike perform well and I couldn't be happier with the bike. So happy I'm almost glad that my Speeder got stolen! I can thoroughly recommend this bike to those who are doing big daily commutes like myself or those who are looking for a fitness or recreational bike.My 11 year old son saved up for a mountain bike. We went to the Balcatta store and put a deposit down on a 'charcoal' mountain bike. We received a call to pick up the bike and once in store found the bike to be blue. My son was a little upset but accepted the colour after offered a free tool bag ($15).
After two weeks, the gears broke at the wheel and chain snapped. I took the bike in and was told that was not covered under warranty.
My son is very upset and now need to take elsewhere and repair the broken gears.
Be very wary of these cheap bikes and non service of warranty.

Purchased the MTB Pro on Monday 22nd June online after being told by the Sydney store that it could be ready for collection within 2 days. Called them on Thursday 25th June - phone in Sydney office either doesn't get picked up or is on busy dial tone. When I did get through I got put on hold for 18 minutes until I got fed up and hung up. I then wrote to the support email to ask for an update. All the reply said was that things are delayed due to the current circumstances (Covid ?). Strange because they sent an email out to say 3000 new bikes had arrived. Until now Friday 26th June I am still waiting for a reply.

Just received our MTB which was purchased on a budget of under $400. Very, very impressed with it's overall quality and it really is a smart looking bike in the new Charcoal colour (i'd call it met light blue personally). The couple of quality extras which were thrown in (front & rear little lights & key/cable lock) bought the price down to close to $300 for the bike by itself. So it really was excellent value for the $$........
BUT OMG......THE Braaaaakes!!! lol. Scary as hell on first steep down hill decline. Hopefully they will bed-in and become a lot more responsive. I really wasn't expecting the nearly zero response when I grabbed the levers. So beware and be careful if your sending your kids down a steep hill on one.
I bought my first bike from Reid and the experience is the worst. These guys are in no mood to sell but I liked a bike online and ordered online as the staff was rude including the manager. After few months I have been ringing them to give me an appointment for after service and they just give one time and say take it or leave it. Even if you request, due to work and you guys open on weekdays the proposed time can't work their standard reply will be "that's all I can give" as if I am begging a time from these guys. I am so upset I bought my bik...
Read moree from REID and surely this is my last experience with Reid. I hate you guys. Keep up your rude behavior. Its not a question of accepting customer's request but all what matters is your intention to work along with your customer. I have never had such rude experience with any retailer.I just want to say I was very happy with the service and staff at Reid cycles balcatta they were very helpful and assembled my bike in a timely manner. I love my new bike very easy to ride as it is light but still very sturdy.

The store in Adelaide do not answer their phone. I left a message but no return of call. I’m sure they will say, as has been response in other reviews, we are busy like that’s a reason to drop any service?

I bought a reid mtb pro disc for $359 on special as i live in darwin and not alot of options so i took a chance on it and i must say I made a mistake when it turned up looked good but rear wheel was broken and i will say the guy at reid was good and replaced it so thanks but few weeks later the pedals broke and i find the bike actually very uncomfortable to ride were I ride my mates trek and it feels comfortable also the crank were the pedals are attached is warped so you can never get the gears to smoothly change also the front folks don't rea...
Read morelly work can never adjust them right so either to soft or to hard and they just spring back any way like a pogo stick, the disc break pads were squeaky and the rear break doesn't even clamp hard enough no matter how.much i squeeze the break lever, the paint is already coming off so very disapointed in the quality of the bike no way you can go off road like it states but it dose have some good points like trektro disc breaks and solid frame. But friendly customer service guy Thank- 3 reviews

I was thinking about buying a better bike from an actual store. But finally decided to just buy a cheap one from Reid for $370.
After a few rides, the front wheel was wobbly to the point where I couldn't ride it. So that cost me $30 from the bicycle service shop to repair. A few weeks later the bike was wobbling again, and the brakes felt faulty. So again I took it to the shop, and that cost another $100. And now the pedal, or chain, is making a screeching sound on every rotation - and I'm not prepared to spend any more money fixing a dud. So I...

The Reid Deluxe Vintage bike is an excellent bike, exactly as described. Some issues with damage during delivery and an incorrect part but these were resolved super fast with exceptional customer service.

Bough MTB Pro last month and these guys have sent me a wrong cheaper bike. When called I got threatened by service manager not to look at my issue for few days as they are very busy. I had to convince this guy that it's their issue and they need to at least acknowledge and arrange return shipping. After sending the wrong bike photos they agreed to send me another bike, that bike never arrived. After waiting for days I had to cancel the order and with no surprise, getting a refund was another long wait and too many follow-ups. Well I read their ...
Read morestory and they have started their store to give customer service but the service I got was horror story for me and they never sent replacement my bike on time. I have never ever seen such terrible, horrific service from any of the Australian store. So if you prepared to go through mental torture then buy from these guys.My husband purchased a bike online for me. Bike was too big for me, contacted Reid Cycles via email & they sent exchanger/refund terms. I rang Nth Melb. store, said bring bike in which we did. Exchanged the bike, no problems & excellent customer service, via phone & in store.

My Reid Xenon 29'er arrived with minor damage. Reid sent a replacement part. When Fastway Couriers delivered the new part it was also broken. Still a very good value bike.

This has turned out to be an awesome bike for me. May be I am the lucky one as I can see some very genuine bad reviews. I went to the North Melbourne store to check the bike itself. Was happy with the build quality and components used. Staff was helpful there and gave time to explain things and models.
I ordered online as I need it delivered at home. Was on sale so it was a bargain and usually $200 cheaper than most other brands. Quick delivery within 3 days. I have actually converted this bike into an e-bike and has done few hundred Kms on i...
Read moret. The frame is definitely holding well for the extra weight of the battery, motor and rear rack with basket. I put my duffel bag of 7-8 kgs on top when I ride to office. There has been no major problem at all. The only issue I have faced is that sometimes while going uphill on a lower gear it feels that the chain on the rear cassette ring slips that jerk my crank arm a bit. Only happened couple of times. I think this is an small issue that I need to look into. On flats there is no problem at all. The components this bike made of are bang on price. Shimano gears & crank-set (Shimano Altus M2000 & Shimano HG200 9-speed cassette), Tektro hydraulic brakes. Fast Continental Sport Contact 2 700 x 35C tyres. Matt Black finish is crisp. So far I am happy. These bikes can have initial small issues and needs someone to properly assemble and fine tune it as they are delivered boxed. As far Urban X2 is concerned I will recommend it highly and Reid Cycles in general as they have great range, free delivery and can find most sizes as I found other retailers were out of stock on their bike ranges and sizes.I recently purchased the the Granite 2.0 from the Reid bicycle shop in Adelaide. After a week of riding the bike I returned it for an inspection. The bike wasn’t holding gears and I was experiencing major chain rattle in 95% of the gears. I dropped off the bike early one morning and was advised that I would be contacted that afternoon to collect it. I didn’t receive a returned call. I phoned the next day and was advised that they had been really busy (hence the lack of a returned call) but that the bike was ready for collection. When I we...
Read morent to collect the bike, the employee advised that I had now used my free service. I questioned this, suggesting that I wouldn’t have had to use the free service if the gears were correctly calibrated. The employee responded by stating that what I had experienced was normal and occurs during the break in process because the chain will stretch a little. I didn’t dispute this as I didn’t know any better. However, when I was disappointed to find out that the bike was no better. The rattle was still there and the bike would still jump out of some gears. After another two weeks of riding the bike, a new issue surfaced where the bike would consistently start to skip on the chain after the same amount of rotations. An inspection of the bike revealed that a chain had broken. I decided to get a second opinion from the team at Treadleys. They replaced the chain and recalibrated the gears - $75.00 later (which is additional to the extra Reid services I paid for when I purchased the bike) and the bike runs like an absolute dream. Apparently the chain rattle was the result of the original chain being too wide for the bike. From my experience, there is nothing wrong with Reid bikes... the same cant be said about the service received.- 2 reviews

My ride for a few Km and I started going up hill I hear this crack crack . I think I need to check this out thought it was the front sprocket but no the barring had gone and the chain was about to break

Bought a brand new mountain bike, have only ridden it four times and one of the pedals feel off, I drop it off for repair in December and its now February and they still haven't done anything!
Have emailed them and phoned a few times, they say they don't have any cranks in stock and will have to order them but in the almost 2 months my bike has been in the shop they still haven't placed an order!
Nearly one month ago I bought a Reied Ospray from Melbourne store. From the day one I started to ride, I noticed the chain is getting rubbed against the front derailleur. I rang the store and I was asked bring the bike the store. When I went to the store one guy rode the bike in the store and said there is nothing wrong with the derailleur adjustment even though chain was touching the derailleure. When I brought this to there notice, they told that this is the maximum they can adjust and the can’t make it perfect and every bike is having the ...
Read moresame issue. After tht they suggested to attach a tape on the derailleur to avoid the sound caused by the chain rub.I am totally disappointed the way they handle the issue. They are so unprofessional. After came home I went through a few of the youtube video clips and I was able to fix the issue by my self.I will never recommend this store to any one in future. It is always better to do a test before you make the payment.Bought the Urban X3 wanting a reliable commuter. Bike let me down twice in a three months. First the crank/pedal came completely off whilst riding. Second the chain/rear derailer got caught in the rear wheel and caused over $300 worth of damage and Reid won't take responsibility for this. Their response is that if I am not going to pay for them to fix their issue then to come and collect the bike because it is taking up workshop space. What a complete waste of money. Best to spend a little more on a brand that will give you a bike that will last at least a year and look after you on the road.

Bought bike with promise of 2 free services in 12 months. Also purchased 2yr extended warranty for peace of mind. Got 1st Service after 4 Months (though didn't look like much was done). This was 1 week before they closed their Brissy store. No notification to me of them closing. Show up to store location 2 months later to find they weren't there anymore. My pedal had broken off at the joint. So had to deal with it via post. I have a MTB Pro mountain bike, and they send me a pair of el-cheapo plain, smooth plastic ones (the kind you get at kmart...
Read more or target that cost $5). Got back on to them that they weren't anything like the grippy pedals I had on bike originally. So they sent me another set which was like the first except made from metal (alloy). Still not originals. Decided to let that fly. They told me they weren't going to honour the free service and any fixes under my extended warranted would need to be posted to them at my cost. Recently my free-hub body stopped engaging properly and needed to be replaced. Bike wheel was couriered to them and they took 4 weeks to send it back only to have the exact same problem - ie. nothing was done. Their demeanour on the phone is always condescending. These guys need to be put out of business. Please dont ignore the negative reviews on here.- SA, Adelaide

Bike left me injured after manufacturing fault and took over 3 months to get bike fixed.
The worst customer service I have ever received. Trust the other negative reviews, it just isnt worth it.
I have had the bike for less than 2 years, only used for commuting to and from work. While I was riding to work in January 2018 the pedal crank arm snapped and gouge a large chunk from my leg. An ambulance ride to the hospital and a large amount of sticthes later I was back home. I emailed Reids head office to let the know of the fault, as the pedal arm cranks are not meant to just snap like that, and asked to get my bike fixed. They wer...
Read moree nice about it and told me they will send an email to the local store to get in contact with me. After a few weeks of nothing I tried to ring and email the local store and no one would answer. I then got in contact with the head office (via email) and they got the local store to contact me. At this point it is about a month of just trying to get in contact with them, so when I finally do, they inform me it will be ANOTHER 4 WEEKS before I can bring my bike into be fixed. This is annoying but sure, they are busy and moving shop so I let it slide. 4 weeks later I bring my bike in to get fixed, they have not even ordered any parts in, even though it has been 2 months since initial contact, I have to wait ANOTHER 2-3 weeks. 4 WEEKS go past and do not hear a thing so I go into the local store where my bike is. THE PART HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED AND WOULD BE ANOTHER 2-3 WEEKS. This was obviously ridiculous so I rang the head office and they finally agreed to express post my part out BUT only after I asked for them to refund the cost of my bike. The bike was fixed that week and now I finally have it back You would think that after a faulty part physically hurt me resulting in me going to hospital, and now massive scar on my leg, that they would have bent over backwards to get it fixed. My tip, NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM REID CYCLES.I purchased a Reid 27.5 inch X-Trail Mountain Bike online. It arrived promptly to regional NSW. I was going to have a crack at putting it together myself but I used a local bike mechanic. I'm really glad I chose this option as I'm not particularly handy. And you'd need more than just a set of allen keys & a bit of enthusiasm to do so. Anyhow, it runs like a dream. I'm really enjoying it. It's really sturdy and the click gears are awesome. The people at Reid were very helpful when I was asking lots of dumb questions before deciding to purchase. I'm extremely happy (though still really fat and unfit).

I bought a 2018 Vice 3.0 hardtail from Reid online. I spoke to their call centre a few weeks before the purchase and they were very pleasant and helpful. I called them during my purchase (as ZipMoney customer service is terrible ) and they were very pleasant and extremely helpful. I've emailed them since to discuss something to do with the setup of my bike and they replied very quickly and were very helpful.
Hopefully, they'll start producing more high-end bikes and I can buy my next bike from them too.
