Roman Beast sleeping bag

published

We bought 2 Roman Beasts for our camper trailer, but we have only used one. We use it as a doona. It's very warm with the flannelette liner and the outer cover doesn't get as damp like a regular doona does. We have used it during this winter through central NSW, and QLD, central Australia, Tanami Track WA. and SA

Happy kids

published

Have bought 6 sleeping bags from various manufacturers and they never kept the kids warm(7 &11yrs). We bought them each a Roman Beast hoping that the quality of Aussie made stuff would be better. So far we have been on two trips, both below or under 0 deg and not one complaint. The bags are roomier than most bags and the zip out inner is fantastic(machine washable so much cheaper than dry cleaning)
Of course with bigger bags they are bigger rolled up, but that is expected. All in all, happy campers...

Bad

I like this bag for it's construction and the removable liner for ease of cleaning. The anti snag zips are much easier to do up in the dark which makes "tucking in" of a night time far less of an effort. I REALLY dislike the fact that it does not perform well to the rated -10 degrees. I am known by my friends and family for not feeling the cold but this bag leaves me feeling truly cold at 0 degrees C even when dressed in a tracksuit for sleeping.
Removable liner for washing. Beautifully made bag. Anti snag zips. Velcoe cover for zip to prevent zip undoing after zipping up the bag.
Poor performer in cold conditions. Does not nearly meet the -10 degree rating.
