Whats a merritt tip.

It the red bit you can take off the end of the plug and it says remove red tip to fit accessory and merit type sockets. Sorry wrong spelling

Where do I find a copy of the user manual

Short of going to Autobarn and seeing if they will give you a copy,I see none on the web,pretty easy to use,plug in 240 or 12v lead press set and up and down arrows for temp,power cut out.
