Hi Ashley N. Thanks for your question. Isofix is an optional secondary method of installation, you can use the cars lap sash seat belt along with the upper tether strap even if your car does not have Isofix. Please refer to your instruction manual or if you have any further questions, please contact us on 1300 303 330. Kind regards, the Britax Childcare team.

Can the pro be used in a foreard facing position from 12 months regardless of the babies height (within reason)?

You have to check their specs (on their website can download pdf), but australian standard is from 6mths of age. If your little one is still comfortable rear faced, its better to leave rear faced. If you look up recommendations its as long as possible (baby is comfortable). Their bodies are most safe rear faced so young in case of accident. My little one is 14mths still rear faced, she has a mirror so can engage with us. Best of luck

Thanks Kris,
My LO (4m) gets bad nausea and I'd like the option of trying both 4wd and rear facing plus if it does get better with time (which our MD suggests it might) we could go back to rear facing. My 2yo is still rear facing and fine.

Thanks for your help, ill try to find the appropriate file

Thanks
Bec

Hi Bec, thanks for your question. The Safe-n-Sound Platinum Pro can only be used as per the instruction manual and the height labels will need to followed as a guide. If your little one has not yet reached the first marker, your child will need to remain in rear facing however you can keep your child in rear facing if you wish until they reach the dotted line on the middle marker. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our consumer support team on 1300 303 330. Kind regards, the Safe-n-Sound team.

Would you recommend getting the Millenia or the platinum car seat? I cant decide, I like that the Millenia is not as bulky but is the platinum model that much safer? Thanks

If your car has side/curtain airbags go the milenia as they will work like the platinum pro airbags.

Hi AgeC, thanks for your question. The Safe-n-Sound Platinum Pro does have more safety features with SICT in the head and torso section, where as the Safe-n-Sound Millenia has the SICT only in the head section. If you wish to discuss the comparisons between the two seats further, please feel free to contact our consumer support team on 1300 303 330. Kind regards, the Safe-n-Sound team.

Does the platinum pro SICT have the little clips on the side to hold the seat belt buckle when putting the child in? NOWHERE does it show them in product photos anywhere. Yet all other models clearly display them.

Yes. It has them on the side. They are better than the ones on the platinum pro plus in my opinion. The pro plus ones stick out like tags where the pro are flat.
It holds the seatbelt well.

As far as I am aware it goes by the child’s height, there are markers on the seat. If shoulders are above the line the child must be forward facing.

Britax. Please advise if the Platinum Pro is legally acceptable to be used in Canada and USA? Planning a trip there

Britax Safe-n-Sound
Support C.Britax Safe-n-Sound

Hi Matt, thanks for your question. USA has a different standard for child restraints, FMVSS 213, than the Australian standard AS/NZ 1754. If you take your child restraint to be used in other countries you will find that local road rules do not prohibit the use of child restraints that do not comply with FMVSS 213. In addition, if there is no restriction, then you need to determine if the car’s insurance or the rental car’s rules prohibit the use of restraints other than those complying with FMVSS 213. Please feel free to give us a call on 1300 303 330 if you would like to discuss this with us. Kind regards, the Britax team.

Recently purchased the Britax Platinum Pro and had it professionally installed in the car (Nissan Qashqai). Due to the middle seat being too small for a car seat to be installed it was installed behind the passenger seat which has left us no option then for the passenger seat to be pushed forward, too close to the dash and the back of the seat practically straight upwards. Is this what we have to put up with or can the car seat be adjusted in anyway? Myself, my partner and our older daughter dont feel safe sitting so close to the dash and windscreen.

You can adjust the tilt when it is rearward facing. This gives a little more room when it is in the most upright position. However as your child grows you will need to adjust the height of the headrest with integrated shoulder straps and this takes up even more space. We only just got away with it in our mid sized SUV but it was challenging. Good luck.

Best thing to do is go to a Baby bunting they can bring out the demo model and put it in your car to see if it fits. It may fit but take into account how far forward the passenger seat has to be to allow for a gap between the carseat and passenger seat. If this carseat means a very 'neck to knees' experience in the passenger seat, don't buy it. As your baby grows the baby seat extends so passenger seat needs to move forward more over time. I have 3 months to go till I can forward face and get legroom back.. Im using it in a BMW X3. Hope this helps!

Hi there, I am getting very confused by all the negative reviews on the fabric. I live in Karratha, WA. Where the average daily temperature is 39•+

The lady at baby bunting said the fabric is bamboo, which is supposed to be cooler. However, everyone's reviews say their babies are overheating. I don't want to spend a stupid amount of money only to find the product is unusable in the Pilbara. Are these reviews based on an old fabric? What's the go for 2016? I am seeing a lot of very angry people saying they didn't get looked after once they made a complaint and I don't want that to happen to me. At the same time, I need to drive over 16 hours from Perth to Karratha with the newborn in August so I want the best for safety. Unsure what to believe here? Advice please?

Hi, that is extreme temperature! However, we do get the odd 40 degree days here too. In that circumstance, we would deffinately be having the ac on in the car. You never mentioned if you have an ac. To be completely honest, we always have the ac on in the car at summer. My child (baby back then) never had issues in regards to over heating.
I haven't made a complaint in regards to the head rest yet. I spoke to the store from where we purchased ours from and as it has been over two years (one year warranty) they told us we need to contact them directly. So I can't tell you how they respond in regards to complaints.
In regards to safety, we chose this seat as it was the brand that was used in our family.
Hope this helps you! All the best :))

The aircon is always on.. Due to the heat.. You would actually die without good aircon. The problem is I am seeing so many people complain of their babies overheating and they aren't in my area but major cities. So I am trying to find out if the interior padding and exterior materiel has changed recently to better accommodate this.

Chris

Totally understand you're concern, we read the reviews about the temperature when looking into the Platinum. We get our share of 40+ degree weather in Adelaide (during summer mainly). My wife owns a VW with air con in the front and rear seats and I have a Mazda with air con in the front only. On days like this in my wifes car with the air con on no problems at all, whereas with my Mazda we tend to need to have the air con up on the highest to cool the car down enough, but little one doesn't seem get unsettled in either car.

Hi Safe N Sound Official, I went to your link for tips to keep a baby cool in this car seat and there is sweet f.a. there about this type of sweatyness that will happen in any car in an Australian summer.
What I want to know is : are Britax changing their fabrics to a cool wicking bamboo type fabric in the Platinum and the Meridien and when can we expect it if so? ... I am due in October so would like to wait to buy something thats not going to overheat my child, otherwise I will have to purchase something else.

I'd just like a little clarification, are the straps easy to use or hard? This is my second child, the first was 7 years ago, there has been a lot of changes since then! Would be great to hear from someone who has had to deal with more than one chair and had the chance to compare.
