Software fault on delivery - Screen Stuffed
We purchased this fridge on Boxing Day through the Good Guys Frankston. Sales person said it would be delivered in 1-2 weeks. It arrived today (17/01/2020). Fridge was unboxed and installed. Started to set up the screen and it just freezes during the setup. Cannot go back or forward. Can only just power on and off again.
We phoned Samsung spent over an hour on the phone resetting. Still no good.
Samsung said the tech company 'RQ Electronics' would call within 2 hours. No calls several hours later.
Tried calling RQ Electronics. After several hours calling someone eventually answered the phone.
Now we have to wait for someone to call back next week to book an appointment.
BRAND NEW FRIDGE. BROKEN OUT OF THE BOX. NEVER AGAIN!

My ten year old Westinghouse gave away last week and we were out for a replacement. Loved the family hub and obviously it came at a premium! Took a bit of convincing but my sweetheart knew that I had my eyes set on the family hub so supported me all the way. It took some research online but homed on to this as even the sales man reinforced that drawer type freezer was to stay away from. have had it for a couple of weeks. Works like a charm. Love the photo collage, timer, lists, whiteboard functions. Will post a more detailed review in a few mo...nths! Ok ....week 3 update Still loving it ;).....I seriously mean it! Was great to have such easy access to the favourite online recipes as I cooked (pm me for beef hokkien noodles recipe that will knock your socks off). Ample space for a family of 7! Configurable shelving Was easy to use and very handy. My other favourite app on the screen is YouTube.... love to put on music videos as I cook Here are some of the issues: Noticed the freezer had developed ice all over. I think oneOf us didnt close the door properly and also one of the cutoff tops of a packaging came between the door seal.... so either of those could have done it.... took the protruding packaging out and closed the door properly and the situation corrected itself-all Ice was gone in a few hours..... my concern is why did I not get an alert that something was not right either the freezer door! Surely this over smart fridge should have known and alerted me.Samsung engineers..... are you listening? YouTube is not an app on the fridge boohoohooo. Have to view it on the browser! That means video stops when I have to browse the recipes.... my playlist wont auto run.... please please please Samsung-Pitt IT on as an app. Itsa shame that I have a fridge with such a big screen and no YouTube app! Lastly the door handles attract fingerprints like crazy! Clean it 10 times a day and its To square one in minutes. Will do some web search on how to manage that more efficiently....,,
Where’s my ice cream?
Bought the fridge. The tech options actually seem really interesting but the freezer didn’t work. Call centre couldn’t help, said the freezer wasn’t detecting any problems. They sent a techie out a few days later to assess it. Couldn’t fix it. Arranged a replacement.
Took 2 weeks for Samsung to acknowledge it. Get the replacement... same issue. Freezer doesn’t work. Now 7 weeks without a freezer.
Requested an urgent escalation from Samsung twice. No response. Still have to go through the usual ‘refund’ channels. 1 month since the second rep...air guy came out and approved the issue. They still haven’t arranged someone to collect the faulty unit. They have advised us it is another 7 days to progress through their refund channels yet we are already 7!weeks in without a working fridge x2!! Had to talk to multiple different people and fill out forms (when they remember to attach them to the email). No one at Samsung is taking ownership of this claim. We’ve provided proof of purchase, refund details and they’ve inspected the unit!

We very excitedly bought the Samsung Family hub only to find the freezer did not work ... at all !!
The Good Guys, where we purchased the fridge very quickly replaced the fridge without anyone even assessing the fridge which sounded alarms bells for me.
But a new family hub was delivered the next day and guess what, the freezer doesn’t work... again! We did all the trouble shooting with Samsung but nothing at all then they tell us there could possibly be a faulty batch of that particular fridge - what are the chances that we get 2 duds - prett...
needs software update
I bought this refrigerator because I saw and ad saying that all the family could put their appointments on the calendar and everyone could see them. I set up the calendar and when I put an appointment five months out it disappear when I went back to the home screen so I called Samsung and they walked me through the process several times then they tried it on their refrigerator and said they had no problems so they were going to bump it up to the next level and someone would call me within 72 hours five days later I called back and they said tha...t they would put it in the computer and someone would call me in 72 hours after four days I called Lowes an in their system I talked to a rep and they said they would send someone out .They came out and change the hardware and it did the same thing he called Samsung and they told him the same thing. 48 hours went by and another tech came to my house and Samsung walked him though and the same thing happen they told him that they were moving it up to tier three and someone would call him in 72 hours. He said can you call the customer they told him no. 72 hours later I called back and they said that tier Three need more information but I had to go though tier one that I couldn't talk to tier three. Then I started getting emails ( had received a few before asking to repeat the same thing over and over again, try load an appointment five months out). Now they (tier three)were asking tier one to have me take photos of different things on my calendar. I received several emails asking for different photos and asking different thing like do I have over over 200 appointments and to try the same thing over and over again.Then last week I get a call from tier one (customer service) telling me that was how it was supposed to work ( not showing any appointments pass four months out). Why the the ad say the word "ALL" and why didn't the ad say it only shows four months?

The Samsung refrigerator looks great inside and out BUT fails to mention if freezer temperature is set too cold, it can cause plastic drawers to break very easily. I’ve had my Samsung fridge 3 years and I think it’s timefor a upgrade.

Old version of this fridge
Well, 2 years later and we're still waiting for Samsung to fix this fridge.... OK we've had a new ice-maker in between(and get free water filters now!) but latest problem is fridge won't interface with TV... At least I've now got the name and email address of a supervisor at the Samsung Customer Care site - they've been looking into this problem for about 10 days now, but we have had only one occasion when supervisor said she would phone and didn't. Tuesday (28th May 2020) is the next deadline; at the moment apparently the technicians haven...'t been able to update the software on our fridge to the latest versions, but... they're working on it/problem has been escalated (where have I heard that one before?? Several times with no effect)). But this time???? Well, we'll see.... will push for money back if not satisfactory response.. And... as before, sound from fridge TV (when it did last interface in) was about 2 seconds behind spoken word on our Samsung TV... this,apparently, is NORMAL and can't be fixed??? BEWARE!!

No, I do not want to create a Samsung account. No, You do not need to know my most intimate details just so I can use your fridge.
Samsung have cut down the version of Android running on this fridge so it is a slave to the Samsung ecosystem. Hopefully you have a Samsung phone to go with your fridge, otherwise you'll find half the functionality doesn't work. You know, little things ... like Bluetooth doesn't work with an iPhone, so no playing music from your iPhone to the fridge. And even _after_ you load their custom apps to sync stuff; you'...ll find out the whole thing is incompatible with 5GHz wireless networks (again, not because of hardware, but because Samsung say so) and you'll need to force your iPhone onto a legacy 2GHz wireless network so you can connect to the fridge. Think you can install an app from the google app store? Think again. It's ONLY what Samsung pre-install. Think it'll sync the calendar directly with google or office365, or you'll be able to install apple music? Nope. If I'd known the software was so useless I would've got one of the fridges with a glass door, and bought a brand new iPad (or LG Tablet) with the savings. Until Samsung get their act together and release a software update that puts a full version of Android on the screen, I'd rate this product a solid 1 star.

Fridge with WOW Factor!!
Great Fridge. Gives that WOW factor to my kitchen.
The screen is nice but unfortunately you cannot download apps like you would on a phone or tablet. Hopefully Samsung will release new apps soon.
I did have the water leakage issue from the water dispenser..however I fixed it by reducing the inlet water pressure from the tap. I find the crushed ice function a little messy...splashes everywhere.
It maintains reliable temperature in all compartments. I love all aspects fridge is easy to open and close it is great as I have full freezer and cold water any time I want. It is also nicely presented and great positioning of all compartments and it fit quite a lot in
This is a great no-frills refrigerator at a great price. I was a bit hesitant about ordering a major appliance online but the free delivery and set-up as well as the free old appliance removal was a MUCH better deal than I found at any local retail store. The refrigerator does a great job at keeping food cold. The finish (Black, in my case) is very pleasing. I read other reviews mentioning noise as an issue. I guess because I never owned a high end refrigerator I don’t notice any more noise from this one. I occasionally hear the compressor start but it doesn’t bother me. Great basic unit for a great price. The delivery was faster and cheaper (free) than what local stores offered.

Definitely NOT worth the money!
I have called multiple times about the Family Hub and it's still not fixed. They say they will call back and don't. The people you have to speak to act like they are helping from a script and they can't assist you with the issues. Then get told that someone will call me that can help and I never get the call. I have many other Samsung products and have always been very happy. But may have to switch to buying something else because this samsung refrigerator does not meet my expectations of what the family Hub is suppose to do!! I get more help...using my $39 Amazon echo! So if you're thinking about buying this fridge because of the family Hub and the time you THINK your gonna save by using the apps on the family Hub, you might wanna rethink your purchase and steer away from this purchase. It's not worth the time, headaches, money and disappointment!

it is reliable and thought seems expensive it's value for money. It is easy to open and close. The freezer keeps everything fresh. it also looks good in my kitchen. I would highly recommend it to my friends. I purchased it with extended warranty and still got a pretty good EOFY deal.
Worth every dollar!
Bought this fridge about 7 months ago and we pretty much don't leave the kitchen since. My daughter loves watching youtube on the screen and browsing the internet is convenient especially when you need to show someone something. The only down side is the ice dispenser is quite loud but I'm being picky here.

Just got it. More to come. Easy to set up and use. I replaced an existing ice maker fridge so setting up was simple. I found the Family Hub easy to set up as well although I am still playing with the features that are available. Done the shopping list and communications.
Had the fridge for some time now, it is proving to be excellent, one handy feature, I can log on to the fridge remotely to view my shopping list and pick up what we need on the way home, very convenient.

We brought this fridge 12 months ago,
we have had the ice maker replaced twice, and we have had Samsung come out around 5 times trying to repair the ice maker.
If you look online there are a lot of complaints about the ice maker, it leaks, it frosts up we have had parts break.
It is disappointing that you pay a lot of money for a premium fridge but the build quality is poor.
The family hub works ok, but it is a novelty as the operating system is Samsung's own and not android
I find that the ice maker keeps freezing up for the ice cube feature, I have since defrosted the fridge, and turned off the feature, it does not freeze up, keep temp in the fridge perfect. I always thought this to a problem of the fridge, not the ice maker, the ice maker causing the fridge to not work. If you have no temp problems, efrost the fridge and then turn the ice maker off completely, I can always buy ice cubes, now the fridge works perfect.
Family hub feature is total crap. It constantly disconnects from wifi, Pandora stops all the time, it's 10 feet from the router/modem and cant get a signal. Xfininty blames Samsung, Samsung blames Pandora and nobody can get it working. Horrible product. Do no waste your money. I want a complete full refund.
