Dissapointed
Bought this today, and used once, but sending it back. Cannot see a thing through the glass door while cooking in progress. The light is so dim and the glass is so dark that you are unable to see anything inside while heating is in progress. A bit of a safety issue that you cannot see if something is about to overheat or explode.
Purchased in February 2021 at The goodguys for A$184.00.

Love this appliance
I've had my Samsung microwave for 8 months now and I have no complaints, apart from the darkness of the front door panel which makes it difficult to see through but that's a minor irritant. I defrost food in it, cook and also reheat. So far, I haven't ruined anything! It's definitely a lot quieter than the last microwave I had so I'm very pleased.
Purchased in November 2021 at The Good Guys Physical store for A$189.00.

Cannot see food cook, totally useless
Cannot watch your food cook, useless piece of crap, would not buy another, why they did this is beyond thought, can only wait till it blows up, I might assist it a little, this is how much I dislike it
Purchased in January 2021 for A$230.00.

Cant see food
The microwave functions fine, though the tint on the door is WAY too dark and you are not able to see the food as it is cooking. When the door is open the interior light is functional, though once the door is closed it is useless.
When heating up a jug of milk for custard etc, you really need to be able to see as it comes to the boil. With this microwave that is not possible. I feel that in an attempt to make this microwave look "funky" from they have completely sacrificed usability. Not sure why they put a window on this model at all.

Good classic sttyle microwave
Really solid traditional type of microwave from Samsung with a beautiful style to it. It does look nice but the main thing is it cooks VERY well indeed and never acts up. It has clear simple menus and a really nice touchpad too. Its nice when things "just work". Delivers the goods every time.

Very happy wth this
We upgraded from a crappy old Aldi microwave to this and didn't look back. Its a pleasure to use in comparison and looks good in the kitchen to boot. Menus are very intuitive and I find the cooking times pretty much spot on. I really like the smart defrost that doesn't cook the food while defrosting - very good. Its fast on full power too. Overall very happy, literally no complaints.

Love it!
Love this microwave, looks stunning! often find myself gazing at it like “what a stud muffin” very easy to clean, food wipes right off, heats consistently, quiet and looks and works like brand new after 4 and a half years.
Only negative I would say is how you can’t properly see the contents inside when cooking as the door is too dark, have had my cup of milk overflow many times trying to see inside but would miss it due to the the darkness.
Recently gave it to my Mum to replace her old one, purely out of personal opinion to not have a microwave in my house due to radiation.

Reliable microwave
Pro:
Good, reliable microwave. I've used it for reheating leftovers and defrosting easily.
Attractive button design which is easy to clean.
Cons:
Would prefer a quick start +30s button.
Limited visibility during use which means telling how cooked something is is difficult. e.g. melting chocolate.
Overall: would recommend, excepting those two bugbears above.

Simple Microwave
Our last microwave died after three years of use. We have a Samsung TV at home and it works perfectly. So, we buy this Samsung microwave. This is also a model recommended by the sales person. it does the job. No problem with reheating or defrosting. I would recommend it.

Does the job effortlessly
Having recently spent time living with a no-name microwave that never cooked anything correctly, returning to my Samsung ME6124 has reminded how fantastically it performs. It's always relatively quiet, very sturdy and well built, and has plenty of settings to scrutinize and make use of. The defrost ability works much better than previous microwaves I have owned, although the confusing amount of settings makes it a bit obscuring to get the most out of it.

Expected better.
Bought this microwave as it was good value for the large size I wanted. I'm happy with the power and how well it works. What I don't like is how loud it is when I am using & I also don't like how dark the light is - I can never see what is inside the microwave while I'm heating it!

Great at first
Purchased this Samsung microwave in Mar, it was great at first. Six months later it broke down already and yet to get it serviced under warranty. At first it worked fine but the turntable did not turn that I had found it strange but was not bothered. Then after a few months, had a weird noise and stopped working and was hot at the back.

Does the job.
Use this every day cooking, heating up and defrosting.
Quite a big microwave!
Have had mine a couple of years and haven't had any issues with it!
One draw back of this microwave would be the darkness of the, makes visibility poor. Makes keeping an eye on cooking a bit hard at times.

Mediocre at best
I am not satisfied. It does not cook my food. The settings are a pain and the manual was non existent. The microwave is pretty quiet though, probably because it doesn't do anything. Its well built and sturdy, probably because its filled with concrete and not much else. Do not buy.

Quite Disappointed!
Just bought a new ME6124W(-1) today. Bought this model because it has a glazed ceramic interior, and the price was good, but having unpacked it and tried it out, I am really disappointed.
First, it says on the outside of the box: "One Touch Instant Cooking". Liked that, but it isn't. Have read the instruction book carefully, but it's not mentioned. Our previous microwave was a Sharp, which definitely was. Close the door, press Start. Instant, one minute cooking. Press Start again, adds another minute. Great. This one is nothing like that. P...Read more
ressing Start does nothing until you set the cooking time. It's Two Touch at best. Yes, you can add 30 seconds each press of the +30 button, which is ok, but not as advertised. Second: it has a light inside. (That's about as far as it goes!) It's on when running. But it's utterly pointless. The microwave is brand new today, but the "glass" (plastic) window is so dark that even when the light is on, you can't see anything inside - at least, not in daytime. It's not even sunny today. All I can see is the faint glimmer from the lamp, but that's really not useful. I can't see the bowl going around, or anything. Third: the interior is very dark grey. We accepted that because it's ceramic, but... Because it's dark inside, and the window is dark, well, I'm sure you get the picture. And, of course, being so dark, it's going to be much harder to keep clean. Sadly, this seems to be the current trend. Most current models we saw are dark inside. Much preferred the Sharp in all above respects.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Super easy to clean and large capacity
I bought this 34L in July 2013 and it's been working fine since then!! The downside is that this microwave can be a bit noisy for some people, it's large capacity and ceramic internal are the highlights! 1000W also means that it cooks a lot quicker than other microwaves. It has a 345mm turntable diameter, so you can heat full dinner plates of food.

Great product.
Happy with the cooking results if this microwave. It is easy to use and understand. The microwave is very quiet sometimes I have to look to check it is on. When the food is cooked it dings but will ding again if the door isn't opened when the cooking time is finished which means you can't forget there is food in the oven. Overall very happy.

Good range of options in time settings right down to 1 second intervals, cool down function after cooking time completes cycle, no mute option for selection and time pads as a bit loud, heats better than older model.
Good styling and modern appearance and turntable is stable when operating.

Decent product
I have been using this product from some time and apart from 1 or 2 small issues it's been running smoothly. It is easier to operate and it's features are easier to understand. This microwave is not very loud and is sturdy built. Overall it is good buy as per the price.

Never worked at all
My elderly mother bought this microwave a few months ago. I asked her a few times how it was going and she said she was too scared to use it. Very sadly my mum passed away a couple of weeks ago. We just brought the microwave over to our house to replace our much older one. It doesn't work at all! It doesn't heat up anything AT ALL! I feel that my elderly mother was trying to use it and thought that she wasn't using it correctly when nothing was heating and was blaming her lack of technical skills when it looks like it was that the machine...Read more
was faulty. Sadly I have no idea where her docket would have been so cannot claim warranty. Thanks for making a lovely little old lady doubt herself! I can't remember exactly when this was purchased but the manufacture date says November 2016.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

might seem stupid but I cannot get my auto defrost to operate it comes up the time and kg but nothing happens when I press start
2 answers
I followed the directions in the instruction manual (page 20) and it worked fine. On pressing "power defrost" the number I is auto selected which is for meat, two presses of "power defrost" you're on 2 for poultry, 3 presses for fish and 4 for bread/cake. I was defrosting 500 grams of mince so I pressed 5 for .5kg and when I pressed START it showed 9 minutes 9 seconds on the read out as it started up.
I did that after I sent the request and it worked ok
Many thanks

is Samsung Me6124w microwave is convection microwave? how to set temperature in it
1 answer
Samsung AUSamsung
Hi Sumiyya, the ME6124W is not a convection microwave and so you would be unable to set its temperature. The microwave however, allows you to set up to two different stages of cooking, each with its own time length and power level. The Power Level button lets you control the heating intensity from Warm to High.
