As far as I know you can't record

Well i have not used it but samsung allows its remote to be used for other devices.
However, you can download foxtel app on smart tv and can watch your foxtel with little additional cost.
Foxtel is slowely replaced with Netflix Disney and Kayo sports which you can download apps and cheaper than foxtel.
I have ceased foxtel and use apps with monthly subscriptions

yes the remote can be used for all streaming applications : Netflix STAN Kayo Foxtel and other apps which are automatically uploaded

sorry Brian I dont know re remote, it is an idea I have intended on looking into, sadly I regret my purchase as there are other issues with this very " basic " Samsung model, that I didn't elaborate on in my initial review .. such as the processor is dead slow compared to the 3 year old hisense 65" TV that I had prior to this and before that I had an early model 55" 3D Samsung, which I am still happy with, as my current bedroom TV but I will say the 2.1 soundbar also purchased subwoofer speaker is pretty good > downside is you can't connect extra speakers to the bar without a lot of tech knowledge which I dont have good luck with whatever you decide

No worries, thanks anyway. The TV seems okay (beaut picture) but the remote is a pain after using an LG magic remote. Also is difficult to connect to a PC via router (LG Smartshare works pretty well). I live in hope...

4K HDR movies from netflix

Does the 65 inch RU7100WXXY have built in pvr to record shows on usb stick?

No built in recorder per se on the 43 inch. I use Foxtel external box to record. It has Prime and Netflix buttons on the remote but you need to have active subscriptions to these. The major issue with the TV was the too dark picture on Prime and Netflix in the 4K UHD mode. Other modes ok. Thanks for your response. Someone said I can pug in an external hard drive and record to that. On the basis we can do that with some type of button hitting on the remote we should be fine. We would like to be able to record TV and Foxtel when we are away from home or asleep. My wife and I are both the wrong side of 65 and struggle a bit with some of this stuff. We have a really old Foxtel box and system and will get them to upgrade it after we get the new TV's. We do not have Foxtel with on demand or Q. We have had it for probably 15 years or more. We do not use any of the internet functions on the TV but have both WIFI and hard wired internet connections with unlimited downloads.

The Samsung Series 7 isn't a touch screen which I think is a good thing should you have children who just want to touch anything and everything in sight :)

The Bluetooth feature is there on the Samsung Series 7 but the only thing is that you have to turn it on each and everytime you turn the tv on as the setting doesnt stay on once set.

There is an option on the Samsung which is tools from there you needs to select speakers then Bluetooth.

My Samsung seies 7 55 inch does want to connect the bluetooth sound bar, I go to setting then sound then sound expert but wireless speakers manager is brur you cant select it..

sure you can find an universal remote that works? also any Samsung remote will work i guess, i have also another old model, series 5 perhaps, and both remotes work in both TVs
