    Good enough

    published

Does the job for a family that doesn't watch tv often. Everything works fine but it isn't a smart tv. The video and sound quality seems fine and there are enough ports to connect other devices through HDMI. Have been using it for almost a year now and it is still in great condition.

    No thrills performer

    published

This TV has excellent picture quality and the sound is surprising deep given that its inbuilt speakers are inherently limited space. The unit itself is not a smart tv which i find to be more of a benefit rather than a hindrance as they seldom have a intuitive interface, as updates roll out for the apps they use tend to lag and most importantly inflate the price of the tv itself.

Not Smart but does the job

    published

This TV is not smart, so if you have apple TV or any other smart devices that can help you connect to the internet, this TV is a good choice because it's much cheaper than smart TVs. Quality of the picture is excellent and sound is alright. It has 4 USB ports.

    Cheap quality of spares used

    published

Purchased this TV in 27 Dec 2015 - started using early January. Just after using for 18 months, units voice is gone. Let me assure you we are not heavy watchers (average use 1 hour per day) & some days we hardly switch on the unit. I contacted the store & they advised product only comes with 12 months warranty. I would suggest this is one of the cheap imports where substandard parts are being used. Won't recommend this unit. Its a waste of money. You don't expect to buy a TV unit to last for just under 2 years !!!

    Solid Samsung TV

    published

I purchased this TV(Series 5 40 inch J5100 Full HD TV) at JB HiFi, Watergardens Store a year ago. The TV is OK. Not as robust as LG. The biggest issue is the screen, which is very fragile and easily scratchable. Especially if you have small children, this could prove to be an issue. Otherwise, the HD display is excellent. I have been using appleTV for which you need HDMI cable.

Good product and value for money

    published

Easy to navigate and great picture quality. Been using for nearly one year and never had issues. Value for money as I purchased this during its promo period. It is also light weight yet sturdy. Design wise, I think it is sleek and nice. Happy with the purchase and would definitely stick with Samsung TVs in the future.

    Good TV

    published

Got the TV in Dec 15 from Dick Smith. Was easy to set up. Sound, picture quality is excellent. The screen takes a while to come up after you turn it on and there's a 3 sec lag before the next channel comes up after you have selected it. The remote is small and I have small hands. The enter button is not conveniently located. The arrow keys do not work for channel selection only for viewing pictures on the USB. The TV cannot be tilted or swung round. Once an app is selected using chromecast, I have to select HDMI manually. Even my 10 year old TV does it automatically.

I'm not too familiar with the different types of HDMI, but on this TV there are two HDMI ports on the back. One is labelled "HDMI IN 1 (STB)" the other is labelled "HDMI IN 2 (DVI)" hope this helps

my TV is just 2 years old now and the screen is now blur... its like redish yellow colour flooding from bottom right corner.... any suggestion for fix or the cause?

I haven't had this problem with mine yet, but sounds like the cause could possibly be something near your tv... do you have a computer or electronic device nearby? Something that has a fan near to where the colour change is happening? Also is there any heat sources close? Could it be getting hot from the sun through a window?
