excellent fridge works very well and is very quite love the design inside..and is easy to keep clean outside if you have a large family you would need larger size but so far i cannot fault it first time ive had an upside down style and its great well worth looking into if after medium size fridge..

Don't Buy It
Had the fridge for 2 and a half weeks before the freezer stopped working at all. Ice creams melted in their packages and bread was defrosted even when set at below -20C (apparently, according to the digital settings on the inside) . Turned to lower degree setting but made no difference over a few days. Fridge temperature fluctuated - parents have a 10 year old fridge which was cooler!! Rang Samsung - they were not helpful at all....informed us that they needed to get a technician out and the only available booking was for a week later. Told us ...Read more
they would book in the technician when on the phone to them....rang the company based in adelaide who was supposed to do the inspection on the scheduled day (bear in mind this was 1 week later) and they had NO BOOKING AT ALL FROM ANYONE FROM SAMSUNG. They told us next available time for a technician wasn't for another week (ie 2 weeks after reporting the fault). Rang Samsung again....weren't helpful at all. Said we'd have to wait for the technician the following week, then wait 24-48 hours for the report to be lodged, then wait 3-5 business days for a case manager to look at it, then wait another 3-5 business days for a solution !!! So in all it was going to take over 3 weeks just for them to decide if I needed a new fridge which was obvious. AND THEIR COMPENSATION OFFER WAS : reimburse me for the value of the food in the freezer!!!! HOWEVER I would need to provide receipt of purchase for each individual item from 2 and a half weeks ago !!!!! RIDICULOUS Asked to speak to someone higher. Informed me that they would call back within an hour....that was over 24 hours ago.... Eventually spoke to The Good Guys and they were EXCELLENT. Offered to pick up the rubbish Samsung and also deliver a replacement for us. Needless to say we DID NOT CHOOSE THE SAME FRIDGE. DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF.Similar opinion? Good Bang For Buck Unit
Temperature fluctuates a lot. Got me a little worried, as I do not like problems after having bought a reputable product. I wired up an external temp monitor. The fridge temp was set to 3 degrees, but the external monitor reads from 2.1 - 4.7 degrees [door hasn't been opened for hours].
The space and compartments are pretty good, for this price range fridge in a 450lt range. I got the unit on a price match of $999, plus the $100 cashback offer, so all up $899. Im glad i waited and procrastinated on the buys as over a two week period the pric...Read more
e came down some $250 on the original list price. 3 days after the price went back up to $1249, I took it as a good sign to buy at the right time, as it turns out that TGG had price matched against another online price elsewhere. So think its good for the $999 price, and this was the main driving factor to buy this unit, but definitely not the best fridge on the market as per build, parts, noise, etc. Just hoping there will not be problems with the unit. But Samsung have done well to provide a good unit for the price, which is what their strategy is all about. I did an electricity consumption test and it actually uses 3 times what it is rated at, and thats with the fridge set at 3 degrees [which is a proper food temperature considering HACCP indicates this], and the freezer was set to 18 degrees [HACCP - hazards and critical control points - food safety]. The freezer is about half full and the fridge is also half full. The unit itself uses 3.5KWH per day, so multiplied by 365 days thats around 1300KWH/year. The freezer is opened twice a day and the fridge is opened around 8-10 times per day. Ambient temperature is at 22 degrees. So i dont know how these manufacturers do their testing, and give ratings indications, at the time of buying the product. But expect to use at least 3-4 times the amount the sticker says, per annum. I use the wine rack for long asian sauce bottles, and also it can fit other thin bottles quite nicely, but not the 1.25lt soft drink bottles. The vegetable bin is the tallest in this class of fridge, measuring 18cm in height, which means you dont have to cut your lettuce or cauliflowers. This was the main choice, otherwise i was steering towards the Electrolux, which was the $1600 mark, simply due to its better build quality, low noise etc, but the Electrolux only had a 15cm clearance on the larger veg bin, which is quite small and leads to more work in cutting up vegies.1 comment

The fridge that wasn't cold.
Bought this refridgerator from the Good Guys. Had problems with the brand new refridgerator within just a few weeks of it being delivered. It sat at about 10-14 degrees, even with it set to 3 degrees (the lowest the temperature setting would allow). We contacted Samsung, and eventually got a repair person out (they were meant to contact us for to arrange an appointment, but we had to chase them up to make it happen). They replaced the back panel (air damper in it). Even after that, it still sat at 6 to 7 degrees at its lowest. We contacted Sams...Read more
ung again, and they wanted to send yet another repair person out. After weeks of food going off because the fridge wasn't cold enough, we insisted on a replacement, rather than have more delays to an actual solution. They said that they would send an assessor out, and yet again, we had to chase them up to make it actually happen. Currently looking for another refridgerator. Would not recommend the SRL451BLS to anyone. It may look good and promises a lot, but has been absolutely rubbish functionally.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

how to remove freezer drawers for cleaning
3 answers
AdaSamsung
Hi Steve, to remove the drawers, pull the drawers out fully then slightly lift it up to remove the drawers. If the drawers get stuck to the door, remove the drawer by lifting it up after removing shelves.
If you are referring to the freezer rail drawer, lift up the rail drawer until you take it off from the hook, then pull the drawer out.

n, it reads between 9 degrees - 11 degrees. So not sure if its a cost saving energy saver algorithm that samsung has used in the computing. But i would guess if you set thermo to 3 degrees, then you would expect the unit to work harder to, bring room temp items to temp or maintain that set temp throughout.
