The release button on my handle is stuck so I cant remove the telescopic pole to use crevice tools. Does anyone know how to disassemble the handle please? Please dont suggest taking it to Godfreys, I'm NEVER taking the machine back there.

We do not recommend taking the handle apart yourself.
The button is located on the rod not the handle.
Godfreys are our certified repair agents.

Ok thanks. Sorry, I do realise that. I should have asked how do i get the button apart? My Vacuum is out of warranty. I have had repeated bad experiences with this vacuum and Godfreys, hence why I refuse to take the vacuum cleaner back. They don't check & fix things properly. While under warranty they just used "bandaid" fixes every time it broke down when they should have replaced the machine...As soon as it expired they happily swap perfectly good parts and charge for new. When questioned what was wrong with the old part they basically say "we dont know, you said there was a problem so we didn't test it, we just swapped the entire part...and a few others for good measure...that will be $700 please"....!! (I exaggerate but you get the point). As such, please advise how to get the button apart. Godfreys are not trustworthy imho.

We are sorry to hear of your past experiences.
Unfortunately there is no way to take it apart without breaking it, it comes as part of the rod.
Was it the store or the service centre that advise you of this information?

I withdraw my question. When I press the on bar at the end away from the on/off switch, the machine starts! Apologies for the unnecessary question.

How much will it cost me to have the plastic siding and one wheel replaced? I pulled the vaccum around a corner and caught the skirting board :( I love my Saber but if the repair equals the cost of another whole vacuum I probably will go back to my Dyson. Thanks Gillian

Best to take the vacuum into the store you purchased it from OR an authorised repairer.
Unfortunately this may be the first of MANY repairs you’ll need.
The plastic on these models is very brittle.

Hi Ange,
For safety reasons we do not recommend to change this part yourself, the lid need to be disassembles and there are 240v terminals in the lid.
We would recommend to have the machine and part booked in through your nearest Godfreys Store to be fitted by a certified technician.

the hose may be blocked, bag may be full, and yes its an expensive piece of crap overall
I agree - it's an expensive piece of rubbish. My machine blocked up regularly. It just gave out after five years - shortly after the warranty expired. It never did work any better than a cheap machine.

look on the panel and see the overheated emblem being displayed, take the hose of and place on other end of vacuum and blow hose out with reverse air flow

The vacuum cleaner says it’s over heated. It turns off. There is a flap that popped up that I’ve never noticed before. Does it need water?

NO WATER!! Not sure of the problem, but SOUNDS like it may be a clogged filter or a full bag. I would keep away from adding WATER as mixing electricity and WATER seldom ends well ;-)

Most likely installed wrong or an issue with the filter. Godfrey’s are great to deal with so just take it to them and they will sort it out :) I had a similar issue and there was something wrong with the filter I had even though it was installed which is why it stil had the symbol, Godfrey’s put another filter in it and it was fine.
