Hi, I used my sauber to vacuum pet hair and now it smells like dog every time it's used. I took it in to be cleaned and they said its fine but changing the filters and adding a scent would help. So I did but the smell did not go away. It's very embarrassing having to use this around people, can someone please help?
1 answer
If the filters have been changed and you haven’t vacuumed up something you shouldn’t then it should be fine. I use mine on dog hair every day and it never smells, and the blue aroma capsules smell lovely. However if something damp or wet gets vacuumed up it will stick to the inside of the hose and other parts of the vacuum so maybe give it all a good clean.

Hi my Sauber vacuum cleaner is relatively new, the filters are clean but the overheating light keeps coming on then the machine turns off. When i turn it back on it has little or no suction. Is there anything i can do?
3 answers
Hi, It is the same problem as mine, just for about a year, my machine started losing a great deal of suction, had it serviced by Godfreys (Sauber), came back much worse in suction, and within 2 months, the overheating light came up many times with completely power off. repaired by Sauber, replaced a pipe or something in the first time, replaced the motor in the second repair, (came back very loud and soon overheated), did nothing in the third repair (both shop keepers witness the overheating), in all occasions we took it home and the overheating light camp up straight away and power off. Now both Godfreys and Sauber indicated that, they are not going to make a refund. Department of Fair Trading is the only channel to file a complain.
my machine came with 5 years warranty, and I think, should take it to the retailer and had it repaired, and so on.
the problem is, for a vacuum, there is no standard measurement for suction, the shop may just see us as trouble makers.

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
The best thing to do would be to take the machine into your nearest Godfreys store to be assessed by a qualified service technician. Once the machine has been looked at, we can assist you further from there and advise of a resolution.
Please feel free to contact us on 1800 815 270 if you require further assistance.

What a terrible service,
I have been doing the same things, needed to keep on going for a repair, as same problems has been continued; was so frustrated as my son has asthma, and they were like, we can definitely listen to you and take care of me as a priority, but nobody contacted me until I called them, and they just like, fixed the machine and now it's working fine so take it, but its not fair after multiples times of repairs, but they just kept on saying the same thing, when I mentioned Australian cumsumar law, they are supposed not to obey it,
what a horrible service for such an expensive vaccum, never recommend this, there are so many vacuums with better quality and service out there I guess,

My Sauber is not sucking strongly like it was, have changed bag and still not fixed issue any ideas what is going on?
1 answer
Customer S.Sauber
Hi Mel,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
You may need to change the filters on the machine or there may even be a blockage (in the hose, rod o floor tool) which is causing the loss of suction.
If you have checked the filter and for blockages and haven't been able to find what is causing the issue, our best advise would be to take the machine into your nearest Godfreys for further inspection.
If you have any further enquiries please feel free to contact us on 1800 728 237.

hi there i got a code coming up saying HEPA1 do I need to change the filter?
2 answers
Generally yes but first check to make sure the hepa is still secure .
Do this by removing it and putting it back in .
If when you pull it out tho you can see its dirty then replace it anyway .
Customer S.Sauber
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
We would recommend checking the filters to see if they are dirty and also go through the machie to make sure there are no blockages.
We recommend to look into replacing filters once ever 12 months or so but this does depend on how often the vacuum is used so hold the filters up to a light and if you can't see any light coming through, please look into replacing them.

The front rotating wheel has broken off. Where do I get a new wheel and how do I replace the broken one? JohnC
3 answers
Hi John, from memory Godfreys said when something like that happens to take the unit in so they can send it off for repair. There are handy people that buy the third party and genuine parts and do it themselves but might void the 10 year guarantee? I'd call the shop you purchased it from first though because I might be wrong.
Thanks Roro.
Customer S.Sauber
Hi John,
The front castor wheel is available and quite easy to replace.
Please contact us on 1800 815 270, quoting customer reference number 297996, and we will be happy to assist you further.

Hi, I've had a Sauber vacuum cleaner for 4 years. I recently changed the bag and now the lid won't close. Does anyone have some idea of what's wrong before I take it in for a fix? Thanks!

can this vacuum work with water spill on the carpet?
1 answer
No it isn’t designed for liquid spills Suggest you look at a wet/dry cleaner. If the spill is large and has soaked the underlay you should get a professional in as you will get mold in the unerlay

My vacuum has been out of order for 2 months, all of a sudden it just stopped & a pic with the words HEPA comes up, any idea of what's the problem?
1 answer
The cleaner has 2 heap filters it means one or both of them need cleaning or replacing. I would try cleaning them myself using a soft brush if the code still shows you need to either purchase new ones or take to Godfreys they can do it for you

My vacuum handle power button not working as well as the min and max button, can someone help if you have same situation?
just problem with the button from the connecting hose
1 answer
Some times it gets dust in the end of hose that clips into vacuum cleaner, run vacuum cleaner with hose off and put hand over opening to allow the air to clean the dust out. Also if you turn off the vacuum cleaner from the cleaner and not the handle it disengages the handle button. So start it up from cleaner and turn off from handle. Hope that helps

Have a themometer type image with warning sign ?
Was working fine then this
1 answer
Maybe it’s overheating? Check your filters and bag. Quick google search says let it cool
For 5 mins. If it happens again contact your nearest sauber service centre
Roseyasked
My one has a temperature gauge on high and a triangle hazard warning comming up and won't go.
Any idea as we have lost our info book?
1 answer
The thermometer and warning triangle mean that the motor is over heating. The book says cool down for 30-45 mins. This happened to mine recently which I think was because I had a full dust bag and hadn't noticed. After replacing the dust bag, it didn't reoccur. If the problem doesn't resolve and you've checked everything, such as making sure there is nothing stuck in the hose, the manual suggests if the symbol appears again, to contact the Sauber service centre.

I've had mine for coming up 5 years now. Each time (year) I have it serviced it came back with a new bag and filter. But not this time because they were out of stock. Staff at Godfrey's told me that I was needing to purchase and change them myself! Is this correct? $70 for the 2 different filters.
1 answer
I also had to buy the filters in the past but never paid as much as $70. I would ask them what exactly they did on the service if they could not even change the filters. No stock is not an excuse. They could get and fit them before calling you to tell you the machine is ready for collection. Imagine taking your car for service and then getting it back with no filters changed. What would be the point of taking it in for a service?

My Mother has an issue with her SI-200 machine. An intermittent fault causes the light on the power head to flicker and the motor in the power head to vary up an down at the same time. During these events there is no response to pressing the buttons on the hose hand piece. Then, one of two things will happen. it will either clear the fault and operate as normal OR it will turn it's self off. Switching the machine off via the button on the main machine and then on again will help clear the fault - until next time. Godfreys has had the machine back several times but say there is nothing wrong with it and there must be a faulty power point. I am an electrician and have checked the power point and there is nothing wrong with it at all. Any one else had this issue ?
Thanks,
Peter

I'd suggest writing or phoning the Australian Consumers Industry Ombudsman or Personel. Australian Consumers Law protects people (like your Mum) from being 'Disregarded' (in relation to faulty products).
Mine was doing the same thing but when I pressed the plus button a few times at the top of the handle it maintained really good suction. But you have to do it each time you turn it on. Good luck with it.
Hi to all those who answered my question. An update - I took the iPad to mum's and got video evidence of the fault as it was doing it and we took it straight back to Godfrey's. When confronted with this video they re-booked the machine in for warranty service and asked for my details and if I could email this video to their service department. I guess this will happen over the next few days when they ring me with their email address. I also told them I was a sparky and sprouted my licence No. and told them the power point was A-OK so that is now a given. Watch this space for an update, as and when............................

My sauber wont turn on, i think it has a lose connection in the lead and would like my husband to fix it but its a sealed unit. Can you please tell me how to open it up without having to put it in shop for days to be looked at. Thanks

HI Debi, if you have a warranty on your machine I wouldn't try fixing anything on it yourself, it will void your warranty, I would just take in to the shop. Otherwise I have no idea sorry! Banks
