Sharp 676L French Door (page 2 of 3)

Purchased April 2015, love layout and easy to clean. Plastic draws are a bit flimsy. Feb 2017 it has suddenly stopped working. Lost a heap of food. Yet to contact Sharp. Reading horror stories on here it looks like I will have fight on my hands. No honour nowadays. So many similar problems on here that it is obvious this model or OR Sharp refrigerators have big issues.

Crisper door poor design, the lug breaks off very easily, i have always liffed the door then pulled the drawer out but still breaks the lug, crap design, the crisper freezes up, if you up the food compartment temp it will stop it, but then your food is not kept a a safe temp, as most dairy and other goods need to be 4 degrees or below

Only Lasted me 2 years. Worked great in that time till the Freezer dropped temperature. Gas Leak. not repairable.One month into ext wty and 5 weeks stuffing around now I have to go buy another fridge. I want to spend my money knowing my fridge will Last Longer. NOT HAPPY

the Vegie crisper has ice on the bottom of the crisper so bad that I need to place a hand towel doubled and paper towel. Had a service call, has increased the fridge temperature to 6 degrees, he is not entirely sure why it is occurring.
Wait a week if any improvements.
Purchased an additional three years warranty

We needed a new fridge but we didn't want any fancy features such as water dispenser/ice maker etc. This fridge is so spacious and well designed especially the freezer drawers. The glass panels are beautiful and stylish, and they don't seem to leave finger prints. Overall we are very satisfied.

We bought our fridge 18 months ago and have been very pleased with its looks and it operation. We particularly like the ice making feature. The fridge is quiet, holds its temperature well and the freezer design is good and provides easy acces. Our disappointment comes from the flimsy design of some of the plastic fittings. We have broken the vegetable crisper lid several times and the lid of the cheese compartment dropped off and broke a week ago. In both case it was the flimsy design of the pivots that gave way. These components are very expensive to replace (the crisper lid was over $90 delivered), rediculously priced for bits of plastic, particularly given that they are also prone to easily break.

Looks pretty, easy to clean, keeps the food cold, ice-maker is excellent. One minor niggle is that the veggie drawer gets a bit too cold but I'm happy to tolerate that. Being able to see every shelf easily means no more ignored scraps on the bottom shelf.Very happy customer here.

Very good fridge never had a problem with it,it's very quiet,loads of room.
Had a big storm where we lost power for two days yet it still stayed cool,didn't have to throw anything out,even the milk was OK.
The only negative is the door handles they look good,but show every bit of finger contact,constantly having to wipe them down.

Stopped working within 6 months of purchase! Terrible product and even more terrible staff and customer care workers. I have had countless emails ignored. I have been without a fridge for 2 weeks now. I'm pregnant and simply cannot afford to live without adequate nutrients throughout the day. I've had these concerns highlighted to your team over the phone and via email, all of which have been ignored. Yet to receive a response, rude phone representatives. Losing my patience and will NEVER purchase a Sharp product again. Nor will I recommend anyone else to do so. Most painful process and experience ever!

The new fridge arrived today from the Good Guys, and waiting 4 hours or so before turning it on. The delivery guys said to wait and hour or two before doing so, why I don't know but we will see. Looks great and hope to be able to give a solid review in a couple of months. If it operate without problems will upgrade rating from good to excellent.

Had a faulty fan in freezer compartment it was replaced

My fridge been delivered 5 days ago and I got a SJFS676VBK...the fridge and freezer works very well, keeps everything nice and fresh ... nice design, love it... but children lock it does not seem to work even that I do everything by the book and the lights are on showing me the key still it does not lock...can you please tell me where the problem is Thanks.

Love the layout but this fridge is incredibly noisy and just isn't cooling to the temperature set. It runs for hours and will only turn off for exactly 30 mins at a time. The fridge is full, no kids opening doors all day, and there is required spacing around fridge. There is nothing on or in the fridge that is that is rattling and making the sound. It is definitely the compressor. Wish I'd read complaints before I purchased. The noise is heard from every room in the house and even over the TV.

Needed a new fridge for the new house and was not starved for choice. Bought this one after much research (mostly because it was a bit pricey) and have no regrets. Food stays fresh, drawers keep things very tidy and easy to see (both in fridge and freezer). One criticism: fruit drawer is really shallow and doesn't easily hold grapefruits or larger apples.
Question: is the occasional 'chirpy' sound normal -- or should I ring for a service?
