Wasn’t sure about these straighteners at first as the Titanium plates are far different to the ceramic plates we have been used to ... But I am loving these straighteners now!

Good for thick coarse hair

published

This straightener heats up in about 20seconds to 210C. Smoothens hair well and as it’s light weight it’s very easy to curl the hair. As it has titanium plates it glides smooth without any tugging or pulling.

The only reason why I haven’t given it a 5 star rating is because it didn’t wow me for the price I paid for it. I have another titanium straightener which I purchased for a lesser price and it has the same effect. When I set the temperature to 230C it didn’t really fasten the straightening process.

I like it but if I compare with other titanium straighteners it does not have any added benefits considering the extra price.

Purchased in April 2021 at Hairhouse Warehouse Online store for $200.00.

BEWARE: read this BEFORE buying a silver bullet hair straightener. Terrible product

published

I bought 2 of these, one for myself and one for my daughter in Oct 2018. They worked for about 2 months then started faulting. they BOTH had times were they did not heat up at all, or heat up a little bit but useless to be of any good, and then sometimes heated up perfectly. They are completely unreliable and the fact that TWO of them started doing this over time....yet still only 5 months old shows up that the product is bad. I will NEVER ever be wasting my money on a Silver bullet hair straightener again. Very Very unreliable and constantly lets you down right when you desperately needed it to work.

Purchased in October 2021 at Sydney Hair Salon for $200.00.

Ok quality

The straightener works well for about 2-3 months and then it started to become rusty and dirt started to build up in the ceremic surface. It works great for the price but however it can be better

Not happy with purchase

published

After reading reviews I was exciting to get the silver bullet 230 titanium. But I'm so disappointed and even called the store where I purchased to get an exchange. It catches my hair doesn't leave a nice shine like previous straighteners have. My hair appears to be more damage from using it and I've had to start using Olaplex alot more on my hair.

Awesome product - no regrets!

Purchase this iron! The heat levels are great because you can customize the level to the thickness of your hair. It's narrow enough that you can get the strands from the root and not have to deal with the crease an iron can make in your hair if you start further down. This iron does not pull my hair out at all and really works. I was shocked for the price that this iron would be so great but I read the reviews and I agree with them all. It really was a great purchase. I have naturally wavy to curly hair that's fine in texture, and I straightened my hair when we were on vacation in the heat and humidity in St. Thomas and it worked great!

The best!

I’m a hairdresser so I have used all of the best brands, this one is by far the best! It doesnt snag the ends of your hair, it glides through beautifully. Heats up very quickly and last forever! Perfect for very very thick hair but also good for fine hair.

Good, but not as good as GHD.

published

Good, but not as good as their competitors. I just found that the results were not as good as they were for my GHD. I do feel however, that my hair burned a lot less so than GHD so that was a plus and perhaps why the results were not as good.

Better than a GHD

I had an old Silver Bullet for 3 or so years and once it died I had to replace it with another. The shop attendants were trying to sway me to buy a MUK but im glad i stuck with the Bullet. Has temp. settings, never catches my hair and included a heat mat and clips. Definitely recommend

I love this straightner, well worth the money, heats up instantly, never pulls or snags my hair. I have very long fine hair, this does no damage to it at all, the titanium plates are fantastic on your hair. I've been buying silver bullet for over 12 years & cannot fault. 5 stars.

I cant live without it!

published

I love this product! This is my second of the same hair straightener, as it works so so well. The first one i had lasted me five years, and considering i use it about 4 days a week that is awesome! The multiple heat options are great, and it turns on within 10 seconds (which is amazing). I have naturally VERY curly hair and the silver bullet straightener never fails to give me the smooth finish all frizzy haired girls desire. Would 100% recommend to those who want value for money!

Stood the test of time!

published

I have had my straightener for over 2 years and it is still going strong! I use it at least 4 times a week and haven’t had a problem so far.
Heats up quickly and glides through the hair easily.
The silver bullet has different heat settings you can choose from which is handy- especially if you don’t want to damage your hair on a high heat setting .
It Has a blue light in the inside which shows it is on but I wish it made a noise and had a light in the outside so that you could easily tell if it had been left on.
I recommend this straightener.

I love how fast it is takes to heat up! Not that long at all! So easy and light weight, I wouldn’t want to use another product on my hair.

100% recommend

A friend of mine suggested the Silver Bullet to me when I was looking into a new hair straightener, and I'm so glad she did! Turns out it's the brand my hairdresser uses as well.

I also really like the titanium (I just don't like yellow looking plates, silver is prettier), and the adjustable heat settings. The on/off button being on the inside of the straightener also makes it less likely to be turned on accidentally. The only thing that would make this better is if it had an auto off.

Not as good as they hyped it up to be!

published

Was happy with my purchase at the start but after a few uses started to notice small changes... It wouldn’t heat up as much as it used to, started to take longer to heat up and NOW after only having it 9 months, one of the plates aren’t even working? I have one year warranty on it- thank God, but for something that cost me nearly $200 I really didn’t expect it to go downhill so fast.

Best hair straightener ever

published

Best straightener ever, highly recommend.
Straightens hair on first use and stays put all day. The gold plates are the best and i like how you can change the degrees.
The heat up takes about 10 secs and it is good to use.

Silver bullet much better than ghd

published

After 2-3 ghd models barely lasting a year I decided to try silver bullet on the recommendation of my hairdresser, and I love it! It is much more gentle on my hair but also much more effective my hair stays straighter for longer and feels lighter! It never catches or pulls my hair and heats up instantly, it also has multiple temps to choose from

230 Titanium

I have a ghd platinum that I am fairly happy with, I have long, very thick quite coarse hair and like to straighten and curl my hair, I have recently read some rave reviews about the silver bullet keratin 230 and just wondered if someone with similar hair to me has had a good experience with this straightener?

Hello Danica. I would be VERY wary of buying a Silver bullet hair straightener. Look at the reviews...they are either love it, or hate it. They are very very inconsistent and this is exactly what this product is!! I have just bought TWO of them (one for me and one for my daughter) from Sydney hair salon and they both worked fine for 8 weeks then started faulting. As in: they do not work at all - light turns on but it remains completely cold, they spasmodically heat up to half the heat required sometimes, for the first 2 months they sometimes work perfectly, they are completely unreliable.
Just beware thats all! looks like it could be pot luck with these straighteners....some a good....some are crap.

Thank you so much for your help, I think I will stick to my ghd. All the retailers selling them only say it's great so it is really good to receive an honest opinion. Thank you again for your help!

Titanium plates and Cereamic plates are two of the most popular types used by styling professionals.
Although I can't really tell you which one is better, here is a short description of each:
Ceramic plates- Heat evenly, protecting hair from heat damage. Proven performance at the fraction of the cost, suitable for home usage.
Titanium plates- Fastest heat transfer for immediate and superior results, regardless of the hair's condition. Dubrability, resistance, suitable for heavy salon usage.
I hope that after reading these descriptions on both, it helped you to decide between which one is better for you!

I just bought one today - I was told that I should only use ceramic plates in my hair as my hair is blonde. Apparently ceramic plates don't damage blonde hair as much..
