End of wash buzzer not audible, need to buy a kitchen timer.
After reviewing a number of washing machines we opted for the Simpson SWT1043 10kg. Price per features seemed good. Whilst overall this is a good machine there are a couple of really annoying issues. The main issue is the end of wash buzzer....... You almost need to have your ear against the machine to hear the buzzer when the wash is finished. The manual says the end of cycle buzzer is factory set and cannot be altered....well the factory need to adjust this in the initial stage, so that the buzzer is audible. The only way to know the wash ha...Read more
s finished is to set a timer on your mobile phone or set a kitchen timer. The number of times I have relied on continual checking only to remember 2hours later that I still haven't hung out the wash, is very annoying. We purchased the 10kg machine as we have large wash loads, but this does not hold as many clothes as our previous 9.5kg Simpson did. We wanted to support any company that still manufactures in Australia, however Simpson need to address the buzzer issue. We did receive an email from the company following a warranty issue, asking if we wanted to speak with a company representative, I stated yes but did not get a follow up email. Come on Simpson.....make your company great again.Purchased in June 2021 for $800.00.

Simple to use but a great top load washer!
I bought this top Load washing machine SWT1043 2 years ago in Bing Lee. Until now it never let me down. It washes all types of clothes from my working, sensitive, delicate to simple clothes. Its a 10kg one so even my Queen size heavy bedding it is giving me good results. I am satisfied with the water rating and it has a product feature called Active Boost wash system that uses less amount of water and is more energy efficient during th washing process. I am satisfied with the cycle time feature, as well. My advise to my fellow consumer is that read the manual well and follow the advises on how to maintain a product. I recommend this top load washer.
Purchased at Bing Lee.

Large, Efficient, Easy to use
I got this washing machine for my parents as there's had blown up.
It was a massive improvement from the last one (size wise and efficiency)
It has an amazing water rating and consumes very little power.
The size of the machine being 10KG allows us to fill the machine with 10KG of washing, this has cut our washes per week down by almost half !
The only issue I have with it is, the sound output, it isnt as quiet as the last one, however you get used to the noise, and the agitator is a bit large, I would've liked it if it didn't have one.

Top loads for a top wash !
Wonderful machine with great wash results no matter how light or heavy the load. Have never had to rewash one item ever. It handles soft wash to heavy bedding. Washes & rinses perfectly. Many choices of cycles with easy to use settings.

A good washing machine but with a lot of negatives. Please read my full review!!
My dad bought the Simpson SWT1043 top loader washing machine on 13th June from The Good Guys and it was delivered the next day on 14th June. After using it over the past month we can give a thorough review to help other’s who may be deciding whether to purchase this or not. I will first list the positives and negatives as well as the length of wash cycles. It will be a long read but worth reading if you are looking at buying this washing machine.
Positives:
1. Price. We bought this for $795 + delivery at The Good Guys. Very cheap for suc...Read more
h a large top loader. Many other 10kg top loaders are over $1000 and some even more expensive. 2. Agitator. This machine has an agitator. We previously had a 9.5kg LG pulsator/impeller washing machine. Clothes would always be tangled and never washed as clean as this agitator model. We love the agitator and can’t see going back to pulsator/impeller anymore. 3. Space. A lot of space inside this washing machine even though it has an agitator in the middle. We can fit our queen size blankets and sheets in there. I am pretty sure you can easily fit a king size blanket in there as well.Purchased in June 2021 at The Good Guys for $795.00.

It terrible will not do as it is told
It is terrible will not do as it is told, the product's features/controls.
It is slow & stops for no reason, locks and reset is nearly impossible.
When you wash clothes you sort the load you want to turn a knob and the machine works.
It also leaves marks on dark clothes. I bought the 10kg as my previous 9.5k was a very good machine yes electronic but this model has gone to far. Previous model had a low wash that was low, on this machine low is where medium should be. The old machine was low, medium, high & extra high. Would love to get my money back.

Bad Experience
Purchased a new SWT1043, followed all Installation steps. First wash resulted in E20 error message (problem draining), checked everything was installed properly again. Next 5 washes (all different cycles) resulted in same. In between cycles I had also repositioned hose, trimmed hose, checked hose wasn't kinked, checked hose wasn't blocked. Still the same.
Returned to Harvey Norman, great service, replaced machine.
Got the second machine home, same E20 message, I checked everything above again, and this time I also pulled the filter out of th...Read more

THE WORST WASHING MACHINE ON THE MARKET
This Machine is supposed to be a work horse, washing all the time. We do sheets and personal cloths with this Machine. This morning once again is leaking water like no tomorrow. This is only 18 Months old this machine. The guy that fixes the machine knows the problem straight away. I will call him tomorrow about the machine leaking water badly again, this will be the third time they will have to replace the part. The trouble being now is it is out of warranty and no doubt I will have to pay for the call out and the part.

Noisy noisy noisy and bad lint collector
This is my second Simpson washing machine and I'm really regretting my purchase. It's so noisy!! We live in a big house and I can hear if at the front door.... our laundry is at the back of our house. It was quiet for the first few weeks and then all hell broke loose with the noise. Terrible. I continually have to level the machine as it constantly gets out of balance and literally moves across our laundry floor. Our laudry floor is level by he way and we are a new build. I would really recommend you choose another product, not this machi...Read more
ne. Also this machine has the worst lint collector ever. Just like their last model its impossible to clean and lint gets stuck in the fabric. It also gets mouldy even though I clean it after each wash and lift the lid to dry the machine after each wash use. I have no idea why I chose this terrible machine. Mistake!!Purchased in January 2021 for $779.00.

Good washer, but...
No complaints with the machine, mostly. But, for the love of god, I wish I had known what "active wash" was before I brought this machine. It mixes water into washing powder before dispensing into wash.
It achieves this by turning water inlet ON and OFF in rapid succession. I have issues with water hammer at my place and this thing is a nightmare when it runs. The "feature" cannot be turned OFF either.
So, in closing, if you have water hammer issues, get a machine without "active wash".

Not as good as the old one
Just had this machine delivered last week and already I'm noticing little niggly things that make it a bit inferior to its predecessor.
1. There is no soak option -- if you have really soiled items that could benefit from a good soak in Napisan before going through a full wash, the only way you're going to get that with this machine is by running to the laundry and pressing "Pause" once the water has filled up. And then when your load has soaked enough and you're ready to commence the actual wash, go ahead and press "Pause" again. It's only a m...Read more

We hope it's as good as our old Simpson.
We have gone back to Simpson after buying 2 other Brands that died straight after the warranty ran out. These were Samsung and just now an LG Turbo Drum, which both were not economical to fix. In fact repair costs on those 2 machines was more than the purchase price new. We had 2 Simpson washers prior to that, which both lasted about 10 years each. Not sure if this one can repeat, but the simple sturdy design seems very familiar. Another thing I liked, was that this 10KG Simpson uses 50% of the Electric and 5 litres less Water per wash than our...Read more
8.5KG LG it replaces, whilst costing about the same to purchase. ( 350KW/ Year as opposed to LG's 711 KW's per year). Only downside was that when unpacked, there were 2 dents on the lower body, but luckily are out of sight. There was no obvious damage to the packaging though. Fingers crossed it now lasts more than the average 2 years.Purchased in January 2021 at Domayne Physical store for $714.00.

Not Impressed!!
I had no problems with this machine until just over 1 year after purchase of the SWT1043 when the machine started leaking out of the bottom. Called Electrolux and was on hold for 30mins only to be told a technician couldn't come out for just over a week. Spoke to technician on the phone before he came and he asked me to explain what was happening and straight away he said he knew what the problem was before looking at it as it was a common problem with this machine. When he arrived he took a quick look and told me that it was a hose that had sp...Read more
lit because when they made the machine the hose was too rigid and after a period of time had split. He then told me he would have to order a new one and it would be another week before it would come in, I would have thought that hose would be something they stock all the time if this was a common problem. When it came time to organize for him to come back out he was very inflexible with times as I work. I even offered to leave the laundry door unlocked as you can't access my house from the laundry but it still took him a week and half to come back out. Hose was replaced and the first load I did the machine failed saying it was out of balance which seemed like a simple problem. My husband leveled the machine and it still wouldn't work. Called Electrolux again and it took another 4 days for the Technician to come back, he said he didn't even have to look at it to know that it was the motherboard this time and said it was just a coincidence that this failed after he fixed the first problem. Have now been told that he will call Electrolux and have a new machine delivered after already being without one for 1 month. Stay tuned.1 comment

ow bad the customer service is. Electrolux would have to have the worst customer service ever, steer clear of them I say. Interrupt the wash without 'dumping'!
I looked at all the large washing machines generally available to me, and settled on this SWT1043 because it could handle my large wash requirements....and.... it was the only brand that I could find that would allow me to interrupt the wash cycle at any point, without the washing machine 'dumping' it's wash load. Some machines even start the wash completely over again if interrupted ! (Grrrr!). It has a good choice of wash cycles, and has been operating well for the last 11 months.

New washing machine - bottom of price range.
So far, so good. It's easy to use and washes well, but a bit slow for regular cycle with extra rinse. But the real test will be whether it is still OK after 10 years. Only my wife and myself, so not heavy use. I will report back in 10 years or sooner if it fails.

Very disappointed with this machine. Machine starts to fill up only just wets the clothes before starting cycle with no water in it. I paid for extra warranty and although it’s still under it’s normal warranty I have to go through the process of contacting the extra warranty team. I had to leave work early because the mechanic won’t come after 3 pm. He then arrived at that time anyway. Looked at machine I put a load on showed him what’s happening. He ordered parts. Yesterday after 1 week he came back. Replaced the parts I’ve now put a load of w...Read more

OK
We have recently purchased this machine & so far it has been average / a bit disappointing.
The size is great - suits our clothes & linen! The range of wash cycles is great as well although we have had to stop our loads mid wash due to the movement/noise from the machine. It has been levelled / checked 3 times and it continues to move and even chipped our wall! We are waiting to hear back about a refund

Worst machine ever with even poorer customer service
Worst machine i have ever owned, with even worse customer service.
- Clothes come out the machine with dry patches
- leaves lint all over clothes
- machine stopped working after 16 months, motor failure and circuit board failure. Took several weeks for a mechanic to come and look at it. Currently at 5 months and counting awaiting for the machine to be picked up and my refund processed. Currently in discussions with Fair Trading Australia due to failure to reply to emails and phone calls

EZISET Simpson top load not filling up
With water.
1 answer
Hi Gerry F. In the Simpson user manual, a display code will appear and its "E10", and the description is ""Not Filling with Water. The advise given by the user manual is first to 1. Make sure both water wall taps are on. If that is the case Turn on taps. 2. Check if hose filters or Inlet hoses are not blocked. So, Try draining hose if water is flowing out of drain hose. Try Cleaning the Tap filters/ washers. Then Re -Start wash. IF PROBLEM REMAINS, Please contact Customer Service of Simpsons so they can call for a Service. I hope this helps. I am not a professional in this issue, just giving you the User Manual instructions. I have not encountered this issue. The warranty of the Simpsons Washing machine is 2 years.

Our swt1043 is not even one day old and can't use it. As it gets to 11 minute and starts to pump out all water and spins very slowly all water is pumped out when it reaches the 7 minute mark the simpson washing machine stops and shows e20 draining problem but all the water is out it has not spun. All the water is out why does it show draining problem?
2 answers
Hi Des.. I am not an expert but since you said its not even one day old it is better you call or email them so they can give you a service man to come and check and the warranty is 2 years. I have not experienced that problem when I got it. Must be factory product fault. Maybe get a new replacement . But do not get me wrong, I have this washing machine already for 3 years, sadly in 2 years and half I have been using suddenly a problem or issue came up, after 2 loads of washing consistently it gives me a reading of E 30 every time. First load of washing no problem, it ends well and then after a second load of washing whether just a normal load or few loads of wash it will always ends up giving me a E30 and yes I have notified them but since I am passed the warranty stage I just gave up. They want to send a service man but I know I will be just paying for a washing machine which later again might give me issues, so I just leave it that way, I still use it and when the E30 shows up I just turn it off . anyway when the E30 shows my washing is fully done and ready to be hanged. I hope you can resolve your issue.
I too suggest you contact Simpson. They will send out a service technician.
Liz M.asked
Hi received my Simpson washing machine today. Noticed it doesnt alert me when load is finished. No bells or tunes like other machines. Is there something I have to do to set an alarm/alert up.
Liz
1 answer
Hi Liz M. it alerts when it finishes and It does make sound but very soft to hear when your not on your laundry room..you cannot do more to make the alert sound louder. That is how this washing machine was set up.
