'Simply Clever' - A Very Good Car.
I have just read the review by Ivan36 and it says everything I would have said. I agree with him 100%. So rather than duplicate his comments, I will add something different.
Audi, VW, and Skoda have the same parent company. The benefit of this to the buyer is that the Skoda Karoq is built on a platform also shared in Europe by an Audi and a VW Golf model, so it's a very well proven platform. Over 250,000 Karoq's have been manufactured and we found that motoring critics reviews in Europe/UK before it arrived here were scoring it very highly a...Read more
gainst competitors at around 8.5 - 9 out of 10 points. We bought this to replace our 15 years old Subaru Forester, a great car, and we wanted a car of around the same body dimensions (but no larger) and of similar versatility and functionality. We found the new Forester is considerably larger than our old one so we ruled that out. However the Skoda Karoq is almost identical in body size, is extremely functional and versatile as Ivan36 has described, and has outstanding economy. Based on all of the above background we were very comfortable checking it out along with competitor cars. We bought it new about 6 months ago and we've covered 7,000 kms. Economy is outstanding. It only has a 50 litre tank but that is more than adequate. We use the car mainly for urban running with occasional long distance trips. In July we drove Sydney to Coolangatta and return with it heavily loaded and we obtained 6.3 litres/100 km overall. But from Coolangatta to Morayfield/Nth Brisbane and return we got 5.3 litres/100 km. Around town here in Sydney we're getting 7.1 litres/100km. So in terms of fuel economy the car is outstanding. We could almost have driven Sydney to Coolangatta on a single tank of 50 litres. The car has a claimed top speed of 206 kmh and I think this is likely correct as it has to hold its own on the Autobahns. The engine revs at around 1750 rpm at 100 kmh and 1800 rpm at 110 kmh and very quickly will sprint to 140 kmh before you realise it. The engine has great torque and pulls effortlessly through the 7 speed DSG gearbox. I think the best way to drive DSG gear boxes is a little similar to a manual -i.e. let 1st gear get the car rolling (it is a very low 1st gear and changes up at about 4 kmh), then rely for acceleration on the higher gears. The car is extremely comfortable and well appointed with the 'simply clever' and nice touches that Ivan 36 has described. Our car also has a handbag hook behind the passenger side front seat and my wife loves this feature. Our car includes many options above the base model, but we did not select the top of the range model as we saw no need for a couple of options.Purchased in April 2021 at Peter Warren Automotive.

Even better than Skoda Yeti
My wife and I loved a very practical and funky Skoda YETI. However, the time came to replace it. Without hesitation we went for another Skoda, this time Skoda KAROQ which replaces the now discontinued YETI.
The KAROQ is an incredible car. First of all it is very smart inside out. The interior breathes an air of luxury with piano finishes inside the cabin, big 8" Boleno infotainment system featuring Bluetooth with voice control audio and SmartLink, Smartphone connectivity including Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
We purchased an entry level ...Read more
