Very misleading, Avoid!
Received finance through SKYE for a 60 month interest free offer. To later find out (in fine print) minimum monthly repayments are 3% of purchase, meaning it needed to be paid off in 2 years. That's false advertising to me. Then when you try and make minimum repayments, the amount costantly changes, dashboard takes up to a week to update your payments meaning you never know where you are up to. Call customer service and you end up more confused then when you started. I wish we had never dealt with SKYE.

Generally very happy until recently.
So I’ve had a Skyecard for travel purposes and I have been very happy with it so far, however last night I received and email stating that I was accepted for for financial hardship, something I have not applied for, I guessed that Skye was being generous given the current situation so didn’t think much of it, I then get a message on Apple Pay saying my card was suspended and could no longer be used.
I’ve had no communication from Skyecard to tell me these changes were happening before the fact they were implemented, the rep on the phone could ...not tell me who made the initial request for financial hardship as again I did not apply for it. I’ve asked them to remove the financial hardship as it was not requested and reactive my card, I am now awaiting a response.

I'm just going to focus on their communication - misinformation via texts "payment overdue" - even though I've set up direct debit payments. Calling them leaves me even more confused - I was assured my overdue payment notice was just a delayed message, and then I received a $35.00 late fee... I ask to speak to a manager, and they put me on hold for 45 minutes, hoping I'd just hang up, which I did.
Finally emails take weeks to get a reply, and once again riddled with misinformation regarding my direct debit being set up. Hours wasted and I still don't know if my payments are working.

This company is terrible and uses fraudulent practices., Applied for a small line of interest-free credit (2,200) at the suggestion of my travel agent for a spur of the moment holiday.
Have had the card for less than 12 months original balance was closed off well before the due date, made a further purchase effectively leaving 60% of the credit balance available. Skye has reduced the credit limit wiping out the 60% line of credit and leaving the just the purchase amount... without a request from me or notice to me.

If I could advice to anyone thinking of going travelling and taking out a "loan" with Skye Mastercard, I recommend not to!
My travel agent offered me this 'amazing deal of 12months interest free - pay later' deal. She did not tell me I was about to take out a large sum of money and open a credit card account, to which I have never owned a credit card before (and have not wanted to for this exact reason).
When it came to paying back certain amounts of money each month, I was never contacted or made aware of the date which my monthly payments ...and amounts was due. This lead me to paying excessive late payment fees of $35 every month as well as a 'Flexi expiry purchase rate' which was another $35 + $0.96 a month. Being a total fee add on of $70.96 per month. I have finally come to the end of paying off my debits with Skye, however finding extremely difficult to understand the statements they have sent as well as terrible customer phone service. The phone has cut out multiple times (so they must based overseas - not Australia), constantly have been on hold regarded answering the same SIMPLEST questions. Don't the skye calls centre staff know how to read their screens?! after doing it all day, day in day out?! I made the mistake of submitting a repayment twice in one day from my ING account, as it was unclear if the first payment was being processed. That second payment which I submitted has now kept bouncing back, as I do not have enough money to make two payments in one day (obviously?!). I have now paid the remaining amount left on my debits from another bank account. However now getting charged a direct Debit Dishonoured Fee of $15, from Skye continuously trying to withdraw money from the ING account. I am so upset, frustrated and angry that I signed up to Skyemaster card, not even being informed that I was opening a credit card account which started with a massive debit. There call service has bad opening hours and this is the only way of directly contacting them. Employees barely could speak English and the phone constantly was dropping out at a convent time of my questions being answered... whoever I was speaking to did not understand, no matter how many times I repeated the question.
Dishonest, stealing liers
Credit limit was $3100. Went on holiday and a year later Paid the full amount and asked them to close my account. They said to close account i need to pay an extra $5.38. I paid $7 to cover thier .95c handling fee. Email this morning says " your credit limit is now reduced to $1000. Iv done EVERYTHING they've asked me to do to close the account. They can't do the ONE thing iv asked them to do, and close it. Definitely reporting this company as so many people like myself are being lied to, ripped off and being treated like idiots.
This is my first credit card with skye,my card limit was $12500 and I had $9000 in the balance and was owing $3400.they reduced my limit up to the amount owing now my card has $0 balance and owing$3400.This is so disappointing as this card was my backbone in difficulty because I almost put all of my pay in it so I could use it in difficulty but now I have nothing instead owing.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
This is my first credit card and I AM NOT HAPPY! The online chat customer service is just awful. They are not ALL on the same page as everyone else. One person telling me you need to set up a scheduled payment 3 days prior to the due date and another person saying that because I set up the payment prior to due date, it will go through. Just got off the phone to customer service and my payment is pending. I was slapped with 45-50 dollars for late payment when I was trying to make the payment through one time payment. This failed multiple times a...nd my bank doesn't have an explanation as to why it failed as it should have gone through. Despite talking to the complaints section they only waived 2 fees. This is not justice at all. Absolutely the worse credit card dealers and once my payments are all finished, I am cancelling and not recommended Skye. You are stealing money that doesn't belong to you. Your staff as a whole are shocking. When I spoke to one lady, trying to get this payment to go through, I felt accused of, why didn't the payment go through... ummm, that's why I'm asking you.. wasted 30minutes there on my break at work. When I spoke to a man on the phone he agreed me being charged wasn't right but said, there isn't anything he can do. I consider myself a patient person, but these people really tested my patience. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
My travel agent pushed to use this company. The only reason I did was because it suited my financial situation at the time compared to other companies. Boy I made a big mistake. The card was soo temperamental overseas which caused me soo much stress. (one day it would work and the next it wouldn't). The interest is actually appalling, pretty much the same amount as my monthly repayments so essentially wasn't getting anywhere. On one occasion they direct debited my monthly repayment twice so that when my next payment was due they charged me a de...cline fee because there wasn't enough money in my account (well go figure) I was then also charged a late fee as well. Took me a few phone calls to recover from that! The payments NEVER come out on the dates that they're supposed to....the dates that is listed on the app. AND to top it all off, this is the second time I've had some random $10 direct debited from my bank account and I can't work out why when I was ahead of payments this month??? Honestly wish I could tell the company to shove the interest where the sun don't shine because they've caused me soo much grief they don't deserve my repayments. Currently waiting for somebody to contact me because their customer service isn't 24/7. Do not recommend. No matter what deals they have going its not worth the headache.
Pending transaction = FRAUD!
Signed up online, got approved, received account number the next day to register for Skye app. Registered, and saw a $6000 Ikea Online pending transaction that I did NOT authorise! Called Skye, no help. Called Ikea, they're looking into it. Sent a disputed transaction form to Skye, and get a reply that they can't do anything as the transaction is still pending, however they had the audacity to suggest I call to release the funds if I wish??? Why the heck would I release funds for a purchase that I did not make??!!! Disgusting!!!! I will be taking this to the Ombudsman!
Thieves and cheats, useless customer service
If i could give less than one star i would. The customer service of this company is appalling. no one is able to give you a straight answer and every person i talk to says something different to the last.
tried to balance my card yesterday. the amount showing on their app was different on the Website by about $500 and was about $800 different to their system when i called up. They do not keep a running balance so there is no way to accurately know how much is owing on the account. when i checked the account this morning the total amount was d...ifferent again. (Less) i Paid over the phone yesterday in an attempt to get this paid and account closed so i NEVER have to deal with them again. The total amount i paid yesterday is more than what is displaying owing today (no other payments have been made). when i called up they simply said. "we will be honouring the original higher amount". so this thieving company just changes their mind on how much you owe and there is nothing you can do about it. they do not have accurate statements and as previously mentioned no running balance so no way to be certain of payments and purchases. It takes them WEEKS to clear payments, which on numerous occasions they haven't even tried to take the payments i assumes so they can charge late fees. Or they bounce them to charge dishonour fees. they do not keep a record of payments attempted so when i queried this they flat out called me a liar and told me i never tried to put the direct debit through. In order to keep track of everything i had to create my own excel spreadsheet which is just far more time and money necessary to balance a credit card. AND the real kicker is the amount according to my spread sheet wasn't even remotely the same as any of the other amounts described by them. Repulsive company and poor customer service. They shouldn't be in business, and they certainly should be investigated, there is definitely something more sinister going on with these thieves.

This company should be sent to jail! Claims interest free period then charges interest? Weeks for payments to clear, they bounce back your payments to and charge dishonour fees. Absolutely a pack of fools and how they have been let go begs to question the integrity of our government to. What financial company does not take your call and leaving you on hold. I was on hold from 7:36am till 3pm where I had to pick up the kids from school and in all this time my call to Skye went unanswered. 7.5 hours and no one answered? Unbelievable!

20 mins spent on what should be a simple one-click opt-out and still no luck.
If this is reflective of the way they approach thier business in general i would advise to steer clear until they get their company, staff, and procedures sorted out.

Applied for a SKYE master card online which we assumed was going to be a simple process? WRONG! Multiple requests to send the same document over and over again! Confirmed they were received only to be asked to send the documents again! No response received after a week of waiting and the told it was still hadn’t been assessed then literally received a text 30 seconds after hanging up to say our application was declined without any further explication which was quite the shock as we have a very good credit rating and loan serviceability capabilities.

Call centre in the Philippines, highly unprofessional and they treat you like garbage
A very frustrated customer here, I applied for the SKYE interest-free Master Card to purchase some staff in IKEA as a backup option as we were waiting for a mortgage top-up. Not only it took three weeks with numerous callbacks, numerous emails, but I was also sending the same documents again and again. The call centre in the Philippines called me and ask for the papers which I forwarded to them, but the next rep knew nothing about it.
The last rep asked me for the actual tax return from New Zealand which I supplied (5 times in a row!!!), but h...e kept insisting that it is not a tax return but just a summary. Despite that it the exact submission that I provided to IRD. I got up to the point where I said "that it is probably easier to cancel the whole thing" and that just made the typical day, he was lightning fast to cancel my application and jump off the phone. I was treated like rubbish throughout the process despite my 150k per year income, of 250k household income. I am sending this complaint to IKEA as well, and any other review site I can find IKEA hopefully will go with a different credit provider like GO master card.

I got a Skye card for an ikea purchase. I paid double the required amounts each month then wham, a late fee. Called and told they could see payment so they had reversed. Surprise it happened again and I called again and was told I could only make payment after there statement run so only between 11-30/1 st of month. If paid before 11th the payment not recognized by system - WHAT?
I then organized a direct debit and was walked through process with a consultant thinking it should fix problem. Wham, the DD request occurred after statement run and...

Down side can't transfer money over to it quickly has to be a Bpay which can take up to 4 days and is an issue when travelling .

After reading a lot of other reviews here I how decided to share with everyone that people are entitled to lodge formal complaints and feedback on this company to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority. I too have been promised many calls back in relation to my dispute however then never come. This company are in breach of several financial codes of practice. Contact them and let them know you will be seeking compensation from them and lodge a complaint to have them investigated. Let's see if we can't help them fix their problems that they make our problems.
Don't bother as their facilities are limited.
We have been with Skye since it was Lombard. We had a 15k joint account with Skye and reduced it to 10k to manage costs better but now need it increased. We were told by the operator June due to not having the "facilities" any Joint account over 180 days can not have their limits increased. If I had known this were the case, I wouldn't have decreased it. So if you are in a pinch and have a joint account don't expect any help.

My husband has randomly received a credit card in the mail today, literally without having ever applied for one. He called the call centre and was given no help what so ever. He was told that the application was made at a Michael Hill jewellery store, but once hubby started to question things and refused to give further personal information, the call centre employee suddenly decided he couldn’t give us any further information. Has anyone else experienced this?
I just received a text to say my application was withdrawn, saying need to contact retailer to pay another way. checked my Sky account and still have full amount charged to my card.??????????????????
