My Smeg machine is 1 year old and it has started to make a very loud noise when steaming and the milk no longer froths as well

Can i change the portfilter and whats the best tamper for MY MACHINE

The steamer light started flashing a month after I bought this but I have lost the Manual.
I found the descaling function on the Manual online so did a descale ... I have rinsed through 4 times now and the steamer red light has still not stopped flashing ..... what’s wrong or what do I need to do ?

Is there a smeg place I can go to see a demonstration on how to set up the menu and anything else I want to know about the machine in Sydney

What level of water hardness do you use on your settings
Was told NSW is High is this correct

Finding the manual book is confusing I wish there was a CD so I could see the set up
Cannot seam to set up the water hardness menu. Was told to put it on hard but it will only goes on med. what am I doing wrong .It says the lights will start in Sequence but it doesn’t only the 2lights go on

All the filters that came with the machine are double wall (pressurised). Is it possible to use a single wall filter? If so, what is the size of the filer I should buy?

have owned this machine for 2months and making 2-3 coffees a day. The steam light has started flashing orange and i'm not sure why. It looks like the descaling indiaction is a solid lit orange steam light, not flashing? has something malfunctioned or do i need to do a proper de-scale of the machine?

I recently bought the espresso machine (Only 3 days old) and while I love the espresso, I’m having issues using the milk steamer.

I’ve tried a number of things but can’t seem to get the milk to heat up properly:

1. Following the instructions I start the steamer but it only works for a few seconds before the steam reduces and then stops. This only works for about 5 seconds. Am I doing something wrong?

2. I try to reset it usually and get to a point where it sounds like the steamer is both releasing steam and hot water- the machine shudders as it does when it dispenses hot water but it also releases steam. The milk then starts to double a lot quicker than in step 1, but I am concerned that this isn’t right either as it does sound/look like water is coming out.

Any advice on what else I can do will be very helpful. I see a few people have asked similar questions but I have followed your advice and manual to address the issue and it still doesn’t seem to be working right.

I bought my machine two weeks ago. It is working really well but the coffee drops very slowly out of the filter, and the end amount is very small. Any advice on what I am doing wrong?

My ECF01 is 1 day old. I want to make 3 coffees for the people in my household. The machine seems to take ages to warm up & after I have made 2 coffees then it takes an age to warm up sufficiently to make the third.
Also, when I use steam to heat the milk, I am unable to control the amount of frothing that ocurrs............it ends up all froth, which is not great if I want a flat white.
Smeg, any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?

Are the 3 filters meant to have holes in them for the coffee to get through??
My filters do not have holes???

Hi,

The machine works fine when I make a coffee and then press the steamer button to froth the milk. However after I use the steamer for the milk, I am unable to make another coffee as the two espressos frantically blink. I can only make another coffee unless I turn the machine off and on again.

Is this a fault in the machine as I have only had it 4 weeks?

We received this machine for Christmas.2019. We love it, however since we started using it the orange light, indicating that the machine needs descaling has come on 4 times (today is 1 April 2020). I have completed the descaling process 3 times, once with descaling solution about a month ago. The light came on again today. Can someone please tell me if there could be a problem or is this common. We average about 5 coffees a day. Thank you

My milk is always so bubbly when I steam it with the machine. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I’ve tried all of the hints and tips. I’m after that glossy smooth finish. I’m wondering if the wand is the issue? Is it too short and wide?

I also have the issue of very slow flow through the grouphead. The coffee trickles out taking around 2 mins to fill half an espresso cup. Could the filter be blocked? I have descaled the machine and all the filters. Many thanks
