Smeg Microwave continues to stop working
We have a Smeg microwave oven which we have had continued problems with since purchasing about a year ago. It continues to stop working and resets without notice. Sometimes you can reset the clock and it will work, other times you have to wait for extended periods before it will work again. This time we have reset over 10 times waited overnight, it worked once in the morning and has stopped again and we have t been able to get it working again. For a top of the line product less than 2 years old you dont expect to have these kind of problems. Really disappointed, my daughter has all Smeg appliances in her house as well and has had continued issues with them

Nice but maybe not worth the money
We bought this oven to match the main oven we had chosen for our new house and because we have always had a convection microwave selected this model so that the two ovens would look good together. It is more than twice the price of a free standing/portable convection microwave and a lot more complicated to use.
It cooks and microwaves ok but as there is no turntable food tends so take a lot longer to heat up when microwaving and be more unevenly heated. Things also tend to splatter more and more quickly than in our previous microwave so we ...Read more

Not bad
The cooking result is good when I make pizzas for dinner… It is not that bad. And the setting is easy as well, the procedure is as simple as I can imagine. When it is working… I feel no noise and extra heat outside the oven, even though the temperature inside is over 200 celcius degrees.

Unreliable unit, constantly breaking down
We purchased the Smeg product "Built In Microwave Combination Oven". Thank goodness we had the sense to purchase an extended warranty as on two occasions, the control panel stopped working & each time it had to be replaced. Also the control swivel knob on the left stopped responding & we ended up being given a replacement model.
We also have a pyrolytic oven, which had the glass shatter internally when on the clean function, due to a minute crack in the glass, rendering it useless until it was replaced.
The final straw was the pyrolytic...Read more
oven function fried the control panel during operation rendering it utterly useless. It is located too close to the heat unit. But apparently this has been changed. But DO NOT buy the version where the it still sits above the door opening. Moral of the story, don't waste your money on Smeg products!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
