Solargain split system with electric booster
We had Solargain supply and install a split panel system to our house in Brisbane. We found the entire process to be smooth and without issue. Their service was outstanding and efficient from our first contact. Solargain provided an accurate quote over the phone without delay. They provided advice about which system would suit our needs and the installation was arranged for a convenient time for us. The plumber and labourer arrived when they said they would and they cleaned up before leaving. We have had no issues with the panels, tank or boost...Read more
er at any stage. We have only needed to use the booster on a few occasions following days of overcast/rainy weather. We are extremely happy with the product, price and service provided by Solargain and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Service, advice, price, efficiency

Have a 10 year old Chromagen 300l 2.5Kw Solar Hot water split System and tank is leaking from top inlet. My question is :- " Can the existing solar panels and plumbing be used so i would be only up for the cost of a new tank"

Hi wilsonl6,
The short answer is yes you can. However, in our experience the best value would be to replace the whole system. The reason is that when you replace the entire system you receive the government rebate which brings the price of the system right down, as opposed to replacing the tank only which does not have any rebates and is quite expensive.
Also, when replacing the tank only it means that other elements of the system such as the pump, control box, sensor cables are re-used. If these products are old they can malfunction, and we cannot take any responsibility if these parts fail after the new tank is replaced.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our QLD branch on 07 3884 1780. Hope this helps!
Kind regards, Solargain.
