Works fine. Sound a bit tinny.
The TV comes with two HDMI ports; a set of analogue composite ports (for the red, white and yellow RCA type plugs); an ethernet wired LAN port; built-in WiFi adapter; in NZ, a built-in Freeview adapter; and an optical audio input;
Freeview only works if you have an UHF analogue signal to the TV. We didn't so we used a Satellite Freeview receiver which feeds into one of the HDMI ports. Freeview channel changing, EPG, programme recording to an HDD and volume control is therefore carried out with our receiver.

e second HDMI port, which allows videos we have on the laptop to be played. An external HDD is connected to the laptop for extra storage. The laptop image won't fill the screen until you configure it correctly under Options->Screen-PC Setting. We connected our DVD player to the composite inputs. If you have a PS4 or a Xbox as well as a HDMI speaker system as well, then you're going to need more HDMI ports than what this TV has; or, you could buy an HDMI switcher (an extra $10-$30) so that all these other devices can be connected; or you can use a AV receiver as part of a home theatre system to act as a switcher and to provide 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 stereo sound.Similar opinion? Perfect so far. Highly recommend.
Fuss-free unboxing. Large sheet with step by step instructions to inistall base and connections. Once turned on was an easy follow-through of prompts on the TV to select country, language, auto channel setup, etc. Smart TV menu and system menu all easy to configure including setting up Netflix account. Sony offers auto software updates over wi-fi and TV did need an update after initial setup. Process was easy, fast and fuss-free. TV still new but first thoughts are that sound and picture quality are both excellent for size and price. Menu operations are relatively fast and lag-free. I also own another 2017 Sony TV and very impressed by all aspects of Sony's ownership experience. Highly recommend.

Best thing we ever did!
We wanted to upsize and have always brought Sony. Got a great deal on our TV, it's been excellent value. The picture is perfect, very clear and the sound is excellent (you can understand what they're saying!). The screen size is just right (49") and the TV size is not too big or cumbersome. It is very easy to operate and the remote control is easy to follow. I would highly recommend this TV

Perfect - Best TV Ever - Easy to Set Up
I originally had a panasonic plasma TV that was 15 years old. I only buy Sony or Panasonic in TVs. I purchased the Sony KDL49W660E 49"(124cm) FHD LED LCD Smart TV from the Goody Guys at Bundall as they gave me an exceptional price of $920. This TV was easy to setup myself especially as I live by myself and am a female. The installation of the cables was easy and the easy step by step guide. I was really impressed that I managed to install my wi fi by following the steps outlined in the TV setup. Everything was done in the easy menu including automatically searching the channels. I am extremely impressed with this TV and how light and thin it is.

Probably just the firmware, Sony TVs seem to have a reputation for releasing buggy software.

Why does this TV continuously lose channels after tuning? As an example, there are several SBS channels that, once I have tuned them digitally, after I turn the TV off, they disappear and 'No event information' shows. It is so frustrating and have never had this problem with any other TV. From research I see alot of other people complaining about the same issue just with the Sony brand.

I am having a lot of trouble sorting the channels. There are a lot of "No Service Stored" channels that cannot be deleted. When I try to move a channel to one of those positions they don't move.
