Not a true smart TV
Despite what Sony wants you to think this is not a smart TV. Yes it connects to the internet (whoot) but my garage light is connected to the internet. What they don't tell you is that you can only use apps they want you to use. Netflix, great. Stan also good. You Tube, Thank you. However the third biggest streaming platform Disney Plus is not available. I get how HBO is Australia is not avalibe however Disney. And no you cannot down loads other apps. For this you need an "Android TV". As for me my brand new $1000 plus tv went straight back to where it come from and i now have a true smart TV and not some technicality on what qualifies to be considered smart.

Absolutely terrible "smart" TV
This TV is a lemon. The software/firmware that drives it is absolutely poor and shocking. Nobody should have to put up with this "bait and switch".
It runs Linux for the smart TV instead of Android (which happens to also be Linux but this is Sony distinguishing them).
Want to stream to the TV from your devices? Hah good luck.
The USB media option is bad.
If you managed to get a junk TV like this, get an Xbox or PS4 or something to deal with the absolute shockingly crap software.
Honestly shame on Sony for selling this junk. I'll never touch a Sony TV again.
Purchased in November 2021 at Sony Online store for $899.00.

Sony x7000 tv
I bought this tv in late 2017. The screen is great, with vivid enough colours. What is bad though is the YouTube app-it often freezes and will not refresh itself. The easiest fix is to change between the guest account and my personal YouTube account. This is a bit disappointing.
Purchased in November 2021.

Superb TV all round
Really easy to set up, very happy with it's ease of use from Netflix to On-Demand and USB-hard drive connections.
Plenty of ports for what we need, remote is easy to use and the buttons aren't too cramped (although could be a little small for elderly fingers). Easy to connect to WiFi and utilise the Smart ability of the TV. Perfect picture and great sound.

Awesome 4K TV | Sony is the best
This Sony model is a Smart TV and highly easy to use with remote control. Performance of the TV is nice but if internet speed is slow then works slow in the browsing. Its even easy to use wireless connectivity for internet and that makes life easy from having wires around the TV. This unit comes with 5 HDMI/Display port. Music quality is also best.
I am using Sony from last 15 years and this is my 3rd tv so i recommend Sony TVs and this is the cost effective and best model

Bugs get in and under the screen
Not happy Jan! A spider or bug crawled under the screen and died. Now have a black mark on the screen and SONY say it’s insect infestation and not covered under warranty. Sony offered me a replacement tv at close to cost price. Why would i buy another of their products and have the possibility of this happening again? Won’t buy a Sony again EVER

Good TV but why the software downgrade?
Bought this as a replacement for our previous 3 year old Bravia which was unfortunately damaged by a wayward swing of the vac. Good picture and good audio no issues there at all. Have a laptop plugged into it and HDMI and USB work fine. Our previous Bravia (46") had an iManual function which was on the television software itself and this has been removed. Why? I've no idea but had to search online for the manual which is available to print but not to download. We wanted to edit the Program Guide which took close to an hour to figure out and com...Read more
plete which is patently ridiculous as is not being able to download the iManual. Good television but the software is a big step backwards and we expected more from a close to thousand dollar television given the higher standard in what was our previous older Bravia. 4 Stars for the picture and audio 11/2 Stars for the software downgrade. Sony need to lift their game on the software side of Smart TV.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible terrible terrible!!
Worst TV ever! I bought two of them in December and they have both been shocking. First one, when there was an upgrade the Smart part of the TV didn’t work via WiFi or even USB, which was the second option, so I had to take it an hour into town to get a whole new system installed with the recommendation to not upgrade via WiFi, and now the second one has done the same thing. So angry right now. And Sony hasn’t replied to my complaint online. Last Sony I ever buy.

Deserves more than 5 stars!
I am very satisfied with the picture quality, it brings me to another dimension. The picture appears very real and is a great escape from my job which is like slave labour. The Dolby Digital technology is awesome and means I do not have to purchase a separate sound system. I use the YouTube app and browser and have not encountered any issues. I am very happy with my purchase and will not be buying another TV until this one breaks!

Great bedroom TV.
Bought one for our daughters room, great set, stylish and modern. The colour is excellent and sound is adequate for a bedroom. There is no ariel connection in room so she uses the wireless Netflix option which is great. The price was really reasonable and I have just bought same model for our bedroom. So far happy with our Sony tv's.

Great TV for the money, seamlessly integrates with PS4, soundbar etc.
This TV is awesome, my first SONY TV and cant fault it, everything works perfectly, picture is great, love the colors and different options it offers for picture tuning. 4K res on a 49 inch TV is so awesome, highly recommend it.
Remote is a bit big for my liking but Ok. Sound is not too bad as well.

Fine tv for bedroom
Got this from JB hi fi. Read reviews prior to purchasing and maybe this had built up my expectations as it was mostly positive. By all means it is a decent tv, love how there’s a Netflix button on the remote. However, it being a smart tv I assumed I’d be able to download apps of my choice. There’s only a limited amount of apps available and you can’t download anything else.
Nice pictur and sound

Good But A Few Flawed Features.
After owning this television for two months. I've given it a good test run and for the most part its a good television, however it does have a number of flawed internet connectivity issues.
Whilst the picture quality of the television is excellent this smart television has flawed connectivity issues resulting in the constant need to reconnect to the WiFi with a password and has similar issues with the Foxtel App.
Despite other devices working perfectly this television continually requires the WiFi to be set up again and again as it does not recognise previously entered information. A similar situation occurs for the Foxtel App.
The television is stylish, light weight and is easily set up.

Great
The picture quality is really great. The colours are true. The sound is extremely good and I love it because it is a "Smart" TV and I can actually work it. There are a couple of HDMI ports and they operate really well. I love that I can just press Netflix on my remote and I go straight to it. It also gives you a choice of other cable channels.

Bad!
This TV has so many problems. I have already returned one and stupidly had it replaced thinking it was just one bad TV but the new one is starting to have the same problems. YouTube is often 'Loading' but never loads, randomly stops responding to remote, voices out of sync.

Best Smart TV
We love this model of TV. It is lightweight and easily moveable. It has an ultra high definition screen and the picture and sound is perfect. Connectivity is easy and it updates regularly within its iwn settings. My next purchase will again be a Sony bravia as it has not missed a beat. We love it. Will get bigger next purchase

Meeting most expectations
Pro : Sony quality. Great price
Con : No wow factor. Could use more hdmi ports (only 3 built-in)
I was not in the market for 4k TV but nevertheless bought this one because of the great price. The big drawback for this one is that there are only 3 hdmi ports. Also, I have to buy a new graphics card for my PC in order to use the 4k resolution. Captions and subtitles has jagged edges but I think this is common for 4k tvs since these could not be sent through hdmi.

As usual Sony is excellent
Picture quality is great. Skin tones on Sony TVs are generally superior and this TV does not disappoint. Built in speakers are Ok, not brilliant. I have hifi setup in another room for top sound. This TV is stand alone under spousal orders. I have (under limited protest) added a spare sub woofer. It plugs directly into TV stereo output socket with appropriate menu settings. Easy. Speech and movies are much improved and volume is controlled by TV remote.
I think TV has enough ports . Ethernet cable to internet is connected. TV does have apps including ABC iview and SBS on demand. This was considered essential by my wife. Mirroring from android phone works fine. Op system and apps good. NAS works fine, but for music i'll use the hifi thanks.
