I am having a similar problem with a different company (I want to apply for insurance but their site is crashing). Obviously they are being hit by people panicking.
As you can already see they don’t now reply in this Review site but I did notice they have website updates. Suggest you check for alternate contact.

Travel to Lombok/Bali, is there cover in regards to Corona Virus if air travel and accommodation is cancelled? Also what about possible volcano disruptions?

Hi Lynne my reading of the PDS and talking to a rep was that if you purchased the insurance after January then you would not be covered for COVID19, if purchased before (like myself) then you have to submit a claim and cross your fingers and toes. Not covered for quarantine or pandemics. I'm not sure about volcanic eruptions.

Does the single trip policy cover accommodation costs in the event of cancellation?

Suggest you read the PDS online on the website. Cancellation section. Cancellation can be covered depending on the reason for the cancellation. Also suggest you give consideration to the amount you nominate for cancellation coverage. I always increase it from the basic cover amount.

Covid-19 and refund of tickets/travel delay. I have yet to purchase flights for Spain/France 6 week trip over mid Jun-end July 2020. What is the policy for refund or assistance in these scenarios
1) Other countries close borders, or ban Australian visitors (as we go into winter we could have a spike in cases)
2) Unable to return to Aust due to quarantining in an as-yet unaffected country (ie no Smarttraveller warnings at time of flights purchase)
3) Refund of flights and accommodation etc, if an area is declared on Smarttraveller as a no-go or extreme caution AFTER I have purchased
Thanks

I am going on a cruise to NZ Milford sound 2nd April. Is the corona virus a consideration when going to non risk country? I also have preexisting medical conditions. Does this increase the cost of the policy?

Hi Annie, We have used SCTI a few times now because we found it easier to go through the online form to add them and find out how much more the policy will cost. So yes, each individual pre-existing condition will incur a cost and depends on what it is as to what it costs. We did not find the extra costs for each condition to be exorbitant either. With respect to the coronavirus - we had a policy which included cover for time we were to spend in Shanghai but we took it out in mid-January with the cut-off date being 31 January for being able to claim. We have now replanned our trip to be a land tour of Japan only and taken out another policy for that trip and because there are no current alerts for that country and therefore no cut-off date we know we will be covered. It will be interesting to see how our claim goes for having to cancel a cruise, flight and accommodation out of Shanghai as we have been waiting more than a week now for it to even be put in the hands of a claim assessor?

Hi Neil C,

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry about our delayed response.

Our TravelCare policy cannot be purchased once you've departed Australia. Since you're already in Canada, our policy wouldn't be suitable for you.

For alternative insurance options, you may want to contact the Insurance Council of Australia (www.findaninsurer.com.au) or the National Insurance Brokers Association (www.needabroker.com.au).

All the best,
