Excellent pump for an active mom
M1 pump is the best pump for an active mom like me. Despite its small size, this never disappoint me on clearing my breast. Been using avent pump and I always get mastitis every 2 weeks. Been using this pump for 2 months but not even once I get mastitis. Love it to the max! Most of all, I really love the customer service. Prompt on replying my queries. I couldn't be more happier
small, inexpensive

horrible pump and customer service
I used the m1 spectra pump for maybe a week before it lost all suction. I called them and they said they were sending me a replacement. Something got messed up in their shipping dept and it never got sent so i called back and they said there wasn't anything they could do until they find it. Keep in mind this is a week after i first called. I then just ask for a refund ans they wouldnt give my money back but instead offered to upgrade my pump and overnight it to me. Its 2 days later and still no pump! I will never buy anything from them or recommend them ever!

My wife loves this pump. So easy to use and powerful
My wife and I did a lot of research into the different breast pumps available and what would suit her the best while keeping the cost down. It wasn’t until she was reading some reviews on other breast pumps that she first saw the Spectra brand. The reviews we saw raved about Spectra so we checked it out for ourselves. We did not see one bad review on any of the Spectra pumps which gave us so much confidence. We wanted to spend as little money as possible, and didn’t need a big hospital grade pump so we chose the M1 portable double breast pump. ...Read more
She has actually used the pump a lot more than originally intended as our baby had a low birth weight. It has performed amazingly! As good if not better than the hospital grade Medella Symphony she used in the hospital. It is a god send that it has a reachable battery & doesn’t have to be plugged into the wall to be used. The size is great and is so easy to use. The price is amazing too for the quality and the fact it is a double pump. Well worth the investment. If you are planning to pump for at least a few months it is cheaper than hiring a pump, but delivers a superior output to others on the market. The bottles are great too. Our baby drinks from them with ease. We would recommend Spectra to any new mum.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great portable pump, fantastic
Bought this pump after reading the reviews on this site. Fantastic little system which makes pumping on the go so convenient. Love being able to give my LO breast milk anywhere!

This is a small pump which is great to carry around. I am happy with suction, the pump is quick and really works for me. Great product for a great price. I bought a pack of Avent bottles before bub was born and recetly discovered that the wide neck Spectra breast shield fits Avent bottles which is a big bonus. I checked the YouTube instructions for help as the manual wasn't very clear.
I use this pump daily and it really is a great product. I hadn't heard about the brand but couldn't be more satisfied. I'm glad a friend recommended Spectra to me.

Great little pump that easy to use and carry
I am currently using S1 at home which is really powerful and life saver! Because I am returning back to work this month, I need a smaller one. M1 is quite small and convenience - suit my budget!! It is a little bit less powerful than S1 and doesn't have the night light and timer, but for going to work and to shopping centers, this is the best!!! After all, at work and shopping centers you have lights! In our mothers' group, some of other mums' breast pumps are slower and less powerful, I recommend them to get Spectra pumps (S1 at home and/or M1...Read more
for going out), they all thanked me!! For me, 500ML from S1 needs 30 to 40 minutes and from M1 is about 40 to 50 minutes (using double pumping), really life saver! My little bub does drink a lot! M1 is cheaper than S1 though, I like Spectra products and their good customer services!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great pump
This is a good little breast pump - compact, portable and easy to use. I haven't used an electric pump before and I had hoped to be able to pump a greater volume/quicker than what I have so far however this may be due to me being an occasional pumper only. Also the customer service is fantastic. Highly recommend Spectra products.

A great pump at a great price!
I was so glad to stumble across the reviews of this pump before I bought the much more expensive Medela pump. Before I bought this pump I was using a hired Medela Symphony and I actually think the M1 is better because of its portability. The suction on this pump is great and the yield I get is the same as using the hospital pump. The few criticisms I have for the pump are that it would be nice to be able to adjust both the suction and the speed. On this pump as you increase the suction the speed decreases. The pump is nosier than the medela sym...Read more
phony but I haven't compared it to other portable pumps. An extra feature would be to have a timer and also to back light the buttons for night time pumping. For the price though, this pump is a bargain and comes with a two year warranty! I also really like the ethos of the Spectra Australia distributor where support staff are mums themselves and can offer honest and good advice on which pump is best for you. Portable, affordable and great service from Spectra Australia. Noisy, cannot adjust both suction and speed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Awesome breast pump!
I'm an occasional pumper and this pump does everything I need! Single or double, not too noisy. And portable! I bought the bag and ice bricks with it and it's very discreet if you were to take it anywhere with you. It's a small, light weight pump and because it's a double, it takes half the time
Great price for a fabulous pump. Reliable, quiet, portable

Wish I'd had it for my 1st baby
Bought this pump to use when I go back to work. It is excellent. Quiet. Easy to use. Compact size. Great results. Makes pumping so easy - I loathed pumping with my first. To the point where I put my bub on formula when i returned to work. If I'd known pumping could have been so much easier I wouldn't have weaned. Customer service is excellent.
Reasonably priced and does a great job.
Instruction manual isn't the best. But I'm sure if you had any questions the customer support could easily help.

Versatile pump with fantastic service!!!
I've been so happy with this pump ever since my little one was born three months ago. Other Mums who I've spoken to who have the common and more pricey brands from pharmacies have struggled with the suction and efficiency of their pumps. I bought my Spectra pump through 'Sweet Beats' while I was pregnant, based purely on the glowing reviews online and now I understand why so many Mums love this pump. It's portable, affordable, can single or double pump to reduce pumping time (time is so precious with a newborn!), it's compact, quiet and comes with amazing service/warranty. I couldn't have asked for more.
Fantastic service and support!

Great value double pump
My husband purchased the M1 pump for me as I was in hospital and unable to breastfeed as I wanted. I also had inverted nipples which made it very hard to breastfeed and they got very cracked and sore. The pump is excellent as it doesn’t hurt my nipples when pumping and with the variable controls makes it easy, still allowing me to feed breast milk! Great portable pump too as we travel a lot. A carry case for everything would be ideal but I have had to get a small pull string bag to cart it in. Overall its an excellent price for a double pump and being portable is a good plus for me.
Price, and the double pump
Being portable needs to come with a carry case

Life saver for a new mum
This breast pump has taken the pressure out of the following situations for me:
Attending weddings and leaving feeds for our baby
Letting my partner bond and feed our baby
Emptying full sore breasts
Expressing for plane flights
Building up milk supply
Easing mastitis while in hospital
It has literally saved my sanity! It is quiet, efficient and hardy. My husband and I recommend it to any one who asks!
Quiet efficient sturdy value for money
Needs a pumping bra for hands free pumping and a carry case to store all parts

Has saved me!
I love the Spectra M1. Being a double pump it saves me so much time. Previous to this I was unsuccessfully attempting to use a manual pump. This resulted in so much frustration. It was such a relief to use the M1 pump and get milk without to much effort. I have also purchased milk storage bags and bottles that have been fantastic.
It's effective, it's a double pump

Will recommend it to everyone!
Spectra M1 is the only pump that works for me. It is comfortable, quiet, easy to use and assemble, portable, reasonably priced and high yield! I easily get at least 100ml of milk within 15mins pumping, This is important because I'm planning to pump when I'm back at work ... and I won't need to sacrifice my break/working time too much for pumping.
In addition, the delivery was very quick. It is the 'the cheapest' double pump available on the market (despite it costing 210$). But I think it's definitely worth it. I'll definitely recommend it to everyone.
High yield. comfortable, reasonably cheap, great costumer service

Spectra M1
I did a lot of research among different brands and chose Spectra because of the closed system, good reviews and affordability. I then took a long time deciding which spectra pump! I wanted a battery for portability and was attracted to the M1′s small size -although its’s not hospital grade, it’s small and more modern looking than others. When it arrived I was excited to try it out and was immediately impressed with my pumping output -about double to my previous pump. It was also super quiet although with increased use it has gotten noisier but ...Read more

I love my m1!
I started researching pumps when I was about 6 months pregnant because I planned on donating milk like my SIL. She donated through the hospital in QLD so they lent her an ameda hospital grade pump. Unfortunately we don't have anything like that here in SA so I planned on doing private donations. My SIL loved the ameda but I couldn't justify paying $800 and the next model down at $400 had so many mixed reviews.
Next I looked at the medela but after reading that its an open system I completely dismissed it.
Then I remembered seeing spectra on...Read more

I have been really happy with my S2 but needed something portable to express at work. Spectra M1 didn't disappoint at all. Not only is it portable it has battery mode which allowed me to express at places without power point. This pump does the job for the price paid!

Fantastic Pump... Love it, great product even better customer service!
I love my M1... We are part of a research program with the local children's hospital and it was important to breast feed. Our baby has colic and I was having problem feeding. I was recommended this breast pump to increase my milk supply.
Great suction, quiet, portable, has a let down mode and so much cheaper than the others and it's hospital grade! I hired the Medela hospital grade pump after being discharged from hospital when our son was diagnosed with colic and did not like it. It was big and cumbersome and I found noisy.

Money Well Spent
After a lot of research following my colossal mistake of initially buying a Closer to Nature pump, I stumbled upon the Spectra range. I was a little sceptical at first because they're such a new company here, and because their products are only really available online so I couldn't go see them in person, but all the reviews I read were glowing and their prices suited my budget more than the Medela pump I had been comparing the M1 to.
I was thrilled when I received my pump -just over 24 hours after I'd ordered it no less- to discover that it ...Read more
was just as great as the reviews promised. The suction is very powerful for such a small unit, and the noise level is much MUCH quieter than my Closer to Nature one was. Also, I am able to express 120-180ml in about 15 minutes where it used to take me upwards of 45 minutes to an hour with the other pump. It's far less fiddly to assemble/disassemble and clean than my other pump, and it's a double for the price of a single, which is certainly a time saver, especially as it remains just as powerful a pump when used as a double instead of a single. The added bonus was that, unlike the Medela that I had been looking to buy, and also unlike my Closer to Nature, the Spectra pumps are closed system units, which means that no milk can possibly back flow down the tubing and into the motor.Similar opinion? The M1 is a personal pump, so not hospital grade.
The S1 and the S2 are hospital grade pumps. :)

Hi,
I'm using Spectra M1 close to 2 years and changed motor once. Recently, i notice that the suction pressure has weaken. Could you please advise a possible caused? I hope replacing the parts will solve the problem as I love this pump very much.

Hi Celine,
Thanks for reaching out about your M1. It is a fabulous pump, and such a great size. Usually we find that when suction starts to reduce it is an indication that the shield set parts need replacing. Usually the valves and membranes need to replaced every 3 - 4 months (more frequently if you are exclusively expressing) and the backflow protectors every 6 months. I would definitely replace those parts and am confident that will solve your problem.
If you still have any worries after replacing your parts, then please get in contact with our Customer Support team and we will be happy to do further troubleshooting with you. We are on Facebook, so you can message us anytime, or use our email or phone number.
Kind regards,
Alli
