Customer service
Went there this week hoping to purchase a sewing machine.I wanted to give them another chance to see if they have improved.
Could not find any one to help me. Went to another department and they said only people at the counter can help. There was a queue there and they could not leave to help me.
Another disappointment and no point going there to buy anything in future.Lack of staff and no training in customer service.

It's not all about thread count!
The best pricing for quality bed sheets. Just love the KOO bedding. You really don't need a high thread count for quality. This is the second set I've purchased. Great customer service and care with goods delivered.

Dreadful
Rude, uninformed, uncaring staff, huge amounts of items, but can never.get what you want or need, and.most things are grossly overpriced or one is consistently overcharged. Altogether a VERY UNPLEASANT and frustrating experience EVERY time I venture there.

Very happy
Spotlight sell A LOT of different items, and I only really buy wool and crochet supplies, but their range is good and I appreciate the friendly staff. A few yeas ago my local store had a remodel which made the store bigger and better and the wool section huge which I appreciate. Can always find a deal and sale times is the best time!

Store layout/tidyness
Find most Spotlight stores are not well maintained. Stores seem very packed with merchandise that it very difficult to move around the store. Isles are very norrow with displays in the middle of the isles making moving around and not making contact with other customers almost impossible. Also noted sections within the stores are very untidy where customers open things and just leave them i.e. curtains and fabric and no one seems to tidy up. Tried to find some net curtain which was almost imposable due complete mess and unorganized display.

Beware. Misleading pricing & appalling customer care
I purchased curtain fabric from the Spotlight Logan sale on the weekend. We found something just right on a table marked '$15 clearance' so we were very happy. The bolt of fabric we chose was at the very start of the second 'bay' of the long table. There were no dividers, no other signs on the table, nothing on the sign to say 'this bay only' or 'from' $15, or any such advice whatsoever, but when we paid we noticed we'd been charged $21 a metre. When queried we were told the clearance only applied to the 'first bay' of the long table. I ...Read more
challenged this because the sign said nothing of the the sort. I was curtly told to read the price label (which was silly in itself because if an item is placed into clearance, the original swing tag is generally left on) When I tried to challenge the misleading signage, I was curtly told 'well, you have two options don't you, leave it here or pay $21 a metre' and that 'that's just how they do it'. Well, it should't be 'just how they do it' because I'm pretty sure Australian Consumer Law has a few things to say about misleading pricing! Unbelievably, Spotlight don't have a page for feedback on their website and they give you no options at all for making a complaint. It seems to me that they've effectively created a monopoly, so these days they don't even pretend to care about customer service (or honesty if it comes to that) I'm utterly disgusted, both with them and their staff.Similar opinion? made to measure blinds product
Sales representative very pleasant. Unfortunately, it was not explained that I had to pay in full prior to installation. While this was in the tiny print on the contract I would have needed minimally 30 minutes to read through the (very) fine print to find it . If this had been explained I would not have placed the order. I paid remaining balance, the serviceman attended to install. One blinds has been incorrectly measured and does not fit Another two weeks later no-one has contacted me so I called and left a message . I am then told that t...Read more
he blinds are complete and they can be installed at Spotlight's convenience. While there were two helpful service people in my overall business encounter, I encountered more who were pure company thinkers who really had no interest in customer satisfaction. Overall the service from basic measuring to client communication was poor and below standard. I would not recommend the company to anyone.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So disappointing with service, communication and everything else!
So disappointed with the lack of communication/ stuff around by spotlight. The moment the lady came to measure it was just a stressful procedure. I ordered over $4000 worth of sheers and shutters back in the start of January, and not looking at having them installed until early May now. Was only ever communicated that I should expect them March, then mid-April which was already inclusive of delays (not communicated prior or told about until 3 phones calls to them) and now May. The organising of a check-measure was another ordeal, being told “oh...Read more
we don’t check measure sheers” and then someone else advising that sheers haven’t been ordered because they haven’t had a check measure. Stay away! No one knows what is going on, nothing is communicated properly to staff or customers and no compensation for such a huge inconvenience. Shame, as I had at least another $10000-$15000 worth of window coverings to finish.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fabulous customer Service
Today, I rang to order some yarn to be collected at the store. Donna at Dubbo was fabulous. Took my order, rang back to take payment and was exceptionally friendly and efficient.

No proof of purchase - No exchange
Be aware of this business. We purchased Savouy bedding which is sold exclusively by Spotlight. Paid cash and could not remember the exact date. Went to exchange and was refused as we did not have proof of purchase. Product is in re-sellable condition. We had also had a quote to supply and install curtains into our new home. Will not be shopping at this retailer ever again. BUYER BEWARE!.

Don’t ever buy custom made blinds from Spotlight
I now know why I had to pay in full before Spotlight delivers and installs your blinds. They take your money and don’t give a damn about the blinds that are the wrong size, made back to front and are not what the consultant measured and quoted for. I will never used spotlight to measure and quote for window covers, If I had known the blinds would turn out as they did, I would never have accepted their quote. Pay a little more if you have too, but never buy from Spotlight

made to measure??? Joke!
Absolute Joke!!!
Made to measure? Came to measure 2x! And blinds still do not fit. Now no one wants to talk to me.
They took the money and that is it...No customer service at all
it took them 3months to make them, than another 3weeks to book 2 man to install it and by the end came only one. He scratched the walls, blinds do not fit and they are crooked.
Not happy and no one is answering

Disappointing and upsetting
I wanted to purchase blinds and had sales person come out to measure and give a quote. At the time I was still unsure because all I was given were swatches of colours And never able to see photos of what they will look like. Then later I asked for the salesperson to return because of question measurements that were taken but also I still was clear because I could visualise them. I paid half the amount of $1250 and when called that the order was ready I tried to make an appointment for them to install however was told I needed to pay full amount...Read more
. I went into the store and spoke to the register lady for curtains informing her of my concerns of paying the full amount when they hadn’t been installed and what if I didn’t like them. She assured me that if I didn’t like them I could get me money back. So I went along with it. In the day of installment they looked good and it was quick. The guy left and I thanked him. When I returned to the bedroom I looked closer and the pellets or now I know cassettes were made of plastic which I wanted material. I was very upset and went Into the store to find out what has happened. I had to make another appointment with the salesperson for another week to come back to the house to sort the problem out. What resulted from his visit was that he could order me pellets for $750. That is would not be refunded from the ones I didn’t ask for but another cost and that I would just have to throw them away. I have been very upset and disappointed especially with the amount of money spent with a total of $2500 not being 100% happy. I am going to speak to the Manager on Tuesday and see if we can sort this out. They tried to sell me that they looked alright but if that’s what I have to accept that “they will do” is not good enough in my understanding. I want what I paid for and I think I deserve to have it when I am paying for it. At the end of the day I do believe that to avoid this error again the salesperson need a better visual guide to what he is selling rather than ask me to google it. I think that’s fair. And next time I won’t accept anything if I don’t see it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Don't order custom made blind and curtain
We ordered blinds and curtains as we like the fabrics. After waiting for more than 8 weeks, the a guy came to install the curtain and the sheer not as agreed made it looks silly. The blind installed in-front of one door just blocked the door so we cannot pen the door. the sales person isn't taking or returning calls and customer service are hopeless. Not worth any star really.

good quality curtains and sheers but customer service stinks .
bought curtains etc. on 11th December sales person very good and told 4-6 weeks to make and install .After 6 weeks queried when and told out of stock with no date to supply .Early February still no information whats happening and no-one seeming to take the time to find out .Finally got them on the third of March with installer not given correct phone number to let us know when he was arriving .Curtains look great and installer very helpful but customer service is very poor .Very happy with curtains but not at all with the service hence 3 stars instead of 4 and 1/2

Don't order custom made blinds/curtains from spotlight
11 Block-out Blinds ordered. Installation a month later after chasing it up. No notification of installation until last minute. One blind didn't fit and another has holes in it. Sales person isn't returning calls or texts. Customer Service (really) aren't answering phone calls. Just an answerphone and I already know they don't return calls. Absolutely disgusting service, especially after having to pay upfront before even sighting product. Basically I've been left high and dry. Next step Office of Fair Trading. Not worth any stars.
Don't waste your time and money on spotlight.

In light of the COVID-19 situation, what consumer guarantee is there when a 50% deposit is required and the balance to be paid prior to installation. I really don't want to pay $5k upfront if there will be issues with the supply chain and the like
