Terrible after sales service.
Bought a brand new Ssangyong Korando from Rockingham Ssangyong in 2012, with a 5 year warranty. Extremely unhappy with their after sales service. If there was a no star rating on here. That's what I'd rate them. Caveat Emptor (buyer beware), once they take your money, it’s goodbye Charlie.

A little history on the reviewer; I have bought 17 Nissan Patrols since 1980 (14 diesels); 12 for myself and 5 for friends and family; we currently have 4 in the garage, 2010, 2007, 2006 and 2000). I have a reasonable exposure to the product;
I purchased a 2006 3.0 diesel patrol from this establishment. I am in Victoria and did the deal over the phone and email; the description of the vehicle was appealing; and I went through the usual questions (I have bought 5 cars from interstate over the years). Communications is poor, sales staff are st...Read more

Took $1000 holding deposit with no contract, no paperwork and wont re pay it
I paid a $1000 holding deposit on a car and decided about an hr later that it wasn't the right car. I had no paperwork, no contract and no recorded phone contract and the sales man Ian and the finance guy Paul didn't advise me that the deposit was not refundable. I was only advised 10 days later after I had asked for return of the deposit 4 times that it apparently wasn't refundable. Steer clear

Great value and quality for your money
I purchased the vehicle in December 2013 in Cairns as it was a much better deal than i could get locally and we were going there on holidays and we drove it back to Melbourne giving us time to run it in on the trip home. Had a Nissan Navarva before this and was a very good vehicle but replacement cost was nearly double that of the Ssangyong. But drives very well tows well and is comfortable being 6'4". Have had two of the old Ssangyong 4wd utes and were ok but this model is far superior.
Price comfortable tows well.
Limited dealerships, rear ute a little on the small side but quite useable.

Just to follow up after numerous emails and phone calls to Ssangyong no one will speak to me about the issues with the vehicle and to add insult to injury two weeks after the last post it has develope... Read more
d an problem with the engine that no one can work out what it is. The computer won't tell them but the engine warning light comes on just about every time you drive it and goes off and on sometimes it will run for a day or two without it and then be on for a few days. They have tested everything and can't find the problem. No wonder they are going out of business in Australia, tried to trade it and they offered $5K!! for a 3 year old car. Absolute piece of crap.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Now I take every positive thing I said about Ssangyong, after 3 years of taking the vehicle back on several occasions to the dealer as it had an issue with the airbag light coming on all the time not ... Read more
once did they fixed it just squeezed the connections with pliers so it was ok when I picked it up and then gone again by the time I got back home. So I took it in two weeks before the warranty ended and they said they would replaced the wiring loom to fix it properly. ONE BIG LIE. As it went again 6 days after the warranty ended and they won't fix it, took it back and was told they didn't replace it although the Service Manager at Frankston told me they did . Ssangyong you are crap!!!! This is the 3rd new vehicle I have purchased from you but never again. What shame as until now I have had a great run with the vehicles but maybe that was good luck as soon as I had issues they don't want to know about it.
