Can someone please let me know the bolt size for attaching a set of side steps to an 06 musso sports 4x2? The brackets on the vehicle are part of the chassis however calling Ssangyong parts dept, they have no clue what size the bolts are? I've picked up a set of side steps second hand but they came without the bolts. Went to a bolt shop and they asked me for a part guide? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

hi, I have a manual 2007 ssangyong musso sports - 2.9 diesel, Great car never let me down except recently. Changed the fuel filter like i have done in the past, could not get it to start even though i had prefilled with fuel. Soon worked out that car was parked on a step incline and with quarter tank of fuel, it wasnt getting to the fuel filter. Filled the tank to half way and bingo away it went. Since then two issues have developed. the engine keeps running when ignition is turned off and when driving the engine revs hard betwen gear changes as if the accelerator is stuck open. Any suggestions.

Hi. Having an issue with my 2004 ssangyong Musso sport. It seems my immobilizor has failed, I can unlock and lock it via central locking, turn the key to start position and get all dash lights then not even a crank. The hazard lights start flashing as soon as battery is connected. What can it be?

If I only disconnect the fuel line from the injector pump on a 1992 2.8 diesel hilux, do I still have to manually pump the fuel filter to draw fuel from the tank ?, or is that line un effected and has fuel from the filter to the tank ?, I know I have to bleed the 4 lines from the injector pump to the engine, thankyou

Hi Pauline,
As per publication two month ago ....
3Ton is considerable more than what I was towing so please allow a little more consumption (2-4 liters/100km more as below)
Go well
Ssangyong Musso 2022 Towing

1400km Musso towing experience.
Our wildflower tour was a great opportunity to test the towing behaviour of our new Musso. One third of the trip went through a montaineuos topography with many steep climbs and descents. The same section also had many sharp turns and bends.
The second section included driving in town streets, small country and also gravel roads and the last section was a stretch of approximately 200 km freeway.
1. Low speed maneuvering and suburban driving. *****
This category of driving is where the Musso performs at it's best. It moves to load around easily and effortless. Getting moving from intersections and traffic lights are prompt and responsive and it feels like you're not towing anything.
2. Handling turns and bends *****
Turning with the Musso with a 1.8 Ton load either around sharp turns or at high speed feels safe. Both vehicle and caravan sit firm on the road, even at sudden movements.
3. Climbing and descenting ***
Going up the steep and long climbs (like the one east Midland going to Mundaring) caused some challenges to the Musso. To keep up the speed of 80km/h was possible but required almost full throttle and 3rd gear. This could be an interesting exercise with a 3.5 Ton load. Down hill the Musso had no difficulties to control the load. Continuous towing in mountainous topographies may put excessive strain on engine and gearbox. ????
4. Highways****
This is a good experience with the Musso. It sits on 90km/h with no problems even if you need to overtake a slower moving track is something the the car can do relatively quick.
All in all the Musso is a comfortable towing unit. With larger loads it might struggle with the 2.2ltr turbo diesel especially in the hills or when driving against strong head winds. For the 1.8T caravan I am fairly on the money with the Musso.
Fuel consumption with the setup shown on the picture is at its best on a flat road with no headwind sitting at 80km/h in 5th gear can be as low as 12.5 ltr/100km. If you go 90km/h with some headwind the consumption increases to 16ltr/100km. 18 to 20 ltr/100km for hill runs and strong head winds can be common. For my trip of 1500km I used around 210 ltrs. This works out about 15ltr/100km average at an average speed of 90km/h. Without towing I managed am average fuel consumption between 8-10 ltr.
Purchased in September 2022 for $36,000.00.

Not knowing what model (year) your Musso is makes it challenging to respond to the inquiry. It might be a good idea to place such questions into the the following forum where is get far more exposure: https://www.mycarforum.com/forums/topic/2677849-ssangyong-musso-double-cab/

How easy to replace glow plugs on 2005 2.9 turbo musso sports
1 answer
Am sorry but I am not really sure I am not a mechanical professional. In addition my SsangYong Musso is only a couple of month old hens has not required any spark plugs. I did have spark plugs changed on the SsangYong Korando but I took it into the workshop as it was too complex to remove peripherals to get the spark plugs out. It was not too expensive and I think I paid about $280 all up.
Sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance.

2004 sanyong musso sport...lost key..had new key made...now car does not run properly..idles very rough and stalls..no glow light working..only small amount of fuel getting to engine...is this because of the key or something else...
1 answer
Dear Joe, I would love to help you with this but am not an expert in this field, but I would be very surprised if your key change would have anything to do with it. Have it diagnosed at a mechanical workshop. The diagnosis should cost too much.
Good luck

And second problem is when i drive over 90 kmh car turn abs edb light on . under 90 kmh nothing. Any help?

Not sure Prevoz, not enough information and I feel not really qualified to answer your query. You might need to go to a mechanic and as them to put the diagnostic instrument to the vehicle and test drive it to determine the problem. Most workshops do that for free.

What does the w- p switch beside the gear shift do ?
2 answers
Not having a picture and no access to my car (FIFO) I can only guess that you refer to the switch to the left - front, which allows you to select different driving modes e.g. Economic, Power and Winter. Each setting has different ways to apply the transmission to adjust to your style or circumstances. The second switch on the right hand side of the handle is used in the triptonic (manual) mode to switch gears up or down as required. Hope this helps.
Thank you, very much appreciated
