Caution!!!!
Buyer BEWARE!!!!
Shocked, horrified, mortified and feeling sick that after 3 years of using Stefani ceramic water filter I find my water comes out worse than before I put it in. I had followed instructions to the letter, I changed and cleaned thoroughly all parts on a regular basis and found my husband and I feeling unwell for no apparent reason UNTILL I stopped using my Stefani water filter. DO NOT BUY.
Purchased in May 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Waste of money check the product out before u buy
I bought a bench top water filter about 2 yrs ago from Bunnings and was good .
Just recently i needed a spare part for itlike a threaded peice that screws into the base of the body so when to Bunnings and they said they dont have any thing like a wanted, So i emailed a place here in Perth and being the importer, they also told me that they dont have a simple things such as this . after sending them some photos .. I get the feeling that the place i dealt with was hoping to sell me another complete system .
Hey what is the point in being...Read more

Not recommended
Excitedly bought the 12 litre ceramic filter, constructed and filled it straight away looking forward to that first, refreshing glass. Never happened. Instead, found myself mopping every single drop from my benches and floor after it just leaked from the bottom. Clearly, from the reviews, it's not the first time. Complete waste of money.

Unbelievable... love it
First purchased mine 10 years ago and had no problems at all and my water comes from the roof where birds poo everywhere. I used to get stomach aches every time, but now not had one since using this filter. I split my house in two and so I had to buy another one for the tenant.... no problems at all, even though she complains it takes too long. But thats rubbish, I add a 2 litre jug every day and have not even once ran out. Sheesh, it only takes 30 seconds to add the water. There is no pleasing some women haha. Anyhow, I love this water filter ...Read more
and would recommend anyone to buy ... 10/10 Now the filters cost $20 and they say replace every 3 months I think... But I leave mine in for 12 months and just clean every 3 months and they are fine. believe me... if they were not... I would get sick.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Misleading product
Purchased from Bunnings for $79. Thought it would be a cheap alternative to the similar products of $300, however after opening the box discovered to find it filters through a plastic bucket when the picture on the box clearly showed it filtering through a porcelain base into a bottom chamber. Looks like a very cheap plastic with two holes drilled in the bottom. The tap also looks like very cheap plastic. Took it back to Bunnings the next day and they were very happy to refund.

Should have listened to the reviews
Purchased the black ceramic filter from Bunnings and after my husband set it all up we noticed the bottom wasn't flat (to the point it was a hazard) it was very wobbly. Additionally the lid didn't fit very well - the whole ceramic mould was poor quality. Additionally it needs 2 filters to work.
What is even worse when my husband returned it to bunnings and told the lady it was faulty she said to just put it back on the shelf. My husband said he had opened the filter packets and run water through it but she didn't care. So some other poor pe...Read more
rson is going to get the box home and find not only a faulty product but a unhygenic one thats had its filters used! Poor form Bunnings. We opened another box but it was also poor quality so went for the stainless steel one (same brand) so far it seems quite good and the water tastes good. Plus it only needs one filter.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Unit is great, but the taps are useless
We’ve had our Stefani water purifier for 6 years, it came with the black tap which fell apart a few months after purchase, I replaced it with a tan tap which the man at Bunnings happily took from another style Stefani purifier. The tan tap has just disintegrated so I went to Bunnings to pick up a new tan tap, they don’t have them ! So I bought a black one, after one day of use it has failed !!!!! The unit is useless without a working tap !

10 Years Strong
Have been using this for about 10 years. No complaints. Replaced the tap once as it eventually wore out. Filters are a reasonable price. Lid has fallen off a few times and broke in two places but was able to fix with silicone. Recommended but will soon be replacing with an undersink system to reclaim bench space as part of kitchen upgrade.

sounds good but it has a plastic insert, first day water seemed OK, then after all you taste is plastic, the plastic insert also has a strong plastic oder. after 5 days i took the item back for a refund and looked at alternative filters like 12L BENCH TOP WATER PURIFIER SYSTEM from FSA

There is plastic inside!
After opening the 8 litre ceramic water filter box at home I got surprised there is plastic inside, the compartment that holds the candles is like a plastic bucket. I couldn't find the information saying the plastic is BPA free anywhere, making me disappointed with the product. I decided to call them to ask about that, and over the phone they afirmed it is BPA free. However I wonder why don't they put such important information neither in the product box nor in the product description in their website.

It's OK but the design could be way better
We recently bought a 8 litre unit but it's more like a 6 litre as some water is always sitting at the bottom... The tap should be in a better position to avoid this... A 2.5 cm lower from its actual position. Apart from that, it is a cheaper alternative.

Parts
Have tried for replacement lid at supplier and was told they are difficult to deal with and lid was nearly the price of the whole unit..went to stefani direct and was told not available, and best to see if i could find a lid off some other filter that might fit..sad service.

Works ok
Got the 8 liter water purifier. Took a bit to fix the leaks and the filters work well enough for what I need them to. My biggest issue is that the tap port is located 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the collection tank. So there is always 1/3 of my water that is stuck at the bottom. For every day purposes that's fine but I use my for brewing and after every filtration session I have to siphon the last 30% out so I don'd have stagnant water, also makes it difficult to calculate how much water I need to collect prior to my brew.

Not Fully Ceramic - Contains Plastic
I recently purchased a stefani ceramic 8 litre water purifier. Unpacked it and realised it has a plastic bucket inside that the unpurified water sits in before going through the filters. This plastic bucket looks shoddy with poorly formed holes for the filters to sit in and it doesn't even say if it is BPA free. Additionally if this does contain BPA chemicals, then the filter candle will not filter it out.
I returned it straight away and asked for a refund. They should not advertise these as ceramic if they contain plastics. They are also made in Brazil.
I have done some research and discovered southern cross pottery, where i will purchase a full ceramic Australian Made water filter.

Solves our local drinking water issue
Our local tap water is loaded with minerals explaining the high incidence of kidney stones according to my GP. The Stefani water purifier definitely improves the water quality softening and removing the metallic taste making it satisfying to drink again.

Veryuseful Christmas gift
Living in an area without reticulated water supply we rely solely on rain water and although we have a filter in our cold water supply, have always boiled our drinking water. This Stefani system makes boiling unnecessary thereby improving convenience as well as power saving. Would hate to be without it now.

12 Months Later & So Far No Faults
I would have preferred to buy a water filter that did not have plastic in it but the budget wasn't big enough at the time. I purchased the Stefani ceramic water filter close to 12 months ago and thankfully to date have experienced no performance issues. No leakage or tap breakages have occurred. I understand that young children who may place weight or force on the tap or its lever may cause it to break but we are a family of two adults and an older teenager.
Sometimes we need to clean the filter as it gets a bit mouldy over time but clean...Read more
ing it extends the life of the filter cartridges and removes any mould odour. I've had Brita filter cartridges get mouldy and at work the ceramic cartridge would also get mouldy so it seems to be a normal characteristic of filters. The unit has two cartridges in it so its slow filtering is less of an issue. And its only an issue if nobody is monitoring the water level and topping it up to prevent it from becoming completely empty. It sits close to the front of the counter so the bench is not in the way when filling a glass, jug or saucepan. It was cheaper than a unit that was 100% ceramic. Seems to do the job. Nice white neutral colour. The top water holding compartment is plastic.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A Great Unit
I just love my Stefani Ceramic Water Filter!
It is easy to assemble and if done properly you wont have any leaks.
The water tastes beautiful & I find myself drinking more water.
For those who cant afford the extra cost but would like refrigerated water then I suggest get a couple of bottles and keep some water in the frige.
The replacement filters are widely available and very reasonably priced.
A bigger range of colours would be nice

Betty P.asked
where can i get a replacement lid for my stefani water purifier
1 answer
You will have to ask at a Mitre 10 store...or maybe Bunnings. But I doubt you will get one in stock and by the time it is ordered, probably not worth it. You better off making some sort of replacement lid yourself. I would use an old dinner plate if its not so ugly.
