Don’t waste your money
We spent 45 minutes trying to install this filter, 50 minutes late I’m writing this review with no filter attached.
My husband managed to eventually get it on but it just continued to leak.
Absolutely not worth it, now reading the reviews I wish I read these first.
Purchased one of these this morning and after installing I turned on the tap and it leaked around the top, tried there suggestion no good tried thread seal tape still leaks.i took it back to Bunnings and got a replacement and guess what, yes this one leaks as well all be it not as bad.we normally buy the Brita but Bunnings don't stock them anymore.i will be looking elsewhere to get another Brita filter.dont buy this cheap plastic rubbish.!!
I bought this filter as it says on the box that it is easy to install and no plumbing required. I was unable to install it. It was not easy to install at all. I live in a house that is only 10 years old so the tap was not the problem. You would need a plumber to install this filter, so it is very misleading. I returned it. Don't waste your time with this product. I have used another brand previously that was easy to install on a kitchen tap.
I got my money back on this product
I gave 2 stars because I liked the chrome and the fact it could go on old taps that fit it but honestly it leaked from a tap mixer even after being installed by Bunnings correctly as it was impossible to get on with not good clear instructions. Bunnings guy sealed it well better than what we did and still leaked from the top so we returned it. Our Fawcett is low and sink small and so I found it annoying to wash dishes and fill bottles, it’s in the way. Great idea and wished it worked for us. Will add that there is a black lever underneath that you turn and push on Fawcett and tighten as we worked on the top bit only. Maybe this works better on different taps but not ours. Water I give 3 because there is tastier water out there.
I got this to fit up to the tap with no leaks (requires a mechanical mind, instructions are not clear although everything needed is there). However the biggest issue I have is that I tested the water for heavy metals and found it did nothing to reduce levels. I have done before and after tests and essentially there are no differences between unfiltered water and this kind of filter. I am also very suspicious that no data or information was provided about the filter and EXACTLY what it filters. This might filter visibly direct water but definitely didn't filter heavy metal particulates on a microscopic level. This is going back to Bunnings.

Installation was easy but the water quality doesn't measure up
I have been using Brita filters for years and found the price for the Stefani cartridges at Bunnings tempting enough to give them a go. I got suspicious immediately when the filtered water flow was almost as strong as without filter. The taste was accordingly. No comparison to Brita. So I tried the second cartridge I bought, to rule out a fluke cartridge fault. Same bad taste. We did a blind taste test to rule out any bias. Tap water, Stefani filtered water and Brita filtered water. The test was 100% conclusive. You can taste the difference in...deed. Stefani filtered water tastes only slightly better than pure tap water. What's the point in having a cheaper filter if the water is not properly filtered? The manual does not mention any details of the filter's properties. In top of that, the quality of the hardware is not promising a long service life either. This one will go back to Bunnings.

Here’s how to have a 5 star experience
I read these reviews in Bunnings but knowing the unit produces great water I went ahead and got it.
First thing was it was incompatIble with our tap which was same as this one:
You need to make sure your tap has a compatible spout with threading.
So when I got home I worked that out. I went back to Bunnings and got this tap:
On the box it’s called ESTILO SERENA SINK MIXER. ...Watching YouTube we worked out how to install. Wasn’t too difficult but is an effort. The issue was working out how to make sure it doesn’t leak. With this tap combination we removed the factory spout from the new faucet to unveil threading inside the faucet arm. First put the rounded edge washer that comes with the water filter into the diverter then tighten the adapter to the diverter. Then place the flat edge washer that comes with the water filter on top of the adapter and screw into the faucet hole. This is how we got the water filter to work perfectly.
Leaks and has bad after-taste
Difficult to install. It leaks at the join to the tap and all the rubber washers don't work. Ended up tightened it too much and destroy the grooves on the tap/spout. Thinking that it was an old tap/spout so got a new tap/spout from bunnings and the water still leaks. Back to Bunning to get different size washers and tap sealant tape. After hours mucking around finally got it work albeit a tiny amount of leakage at the join. I noticed there is a strange after-taste with this filter compared to the similar Brita filter I used for many years before. Bought this one because of the cheap filter refills but after this experience I will go back to Brita when this one reaches it life-span.
Great but a bit of work
Got one to fit into our work kitchen eventually, the instructions aren't great and it was a little tricky to attach it to the tap. Can do with an updated instruction I suppose.
However, we could really taste the difference in the water and really hoping that its help cuts the amount of sediment that's forming in our kettle.
Perfect for the Price
There sure is a pattern when you read the reviews - and its about little or lack of instructions and parts not labelled clearly. However with a bit of trial and error (and patience) with fitting the different washers I was able to fit the filter perfectly. No leaks, and the water tastes great!!! would recommend if you are looking for a short term solution to filter out chlorine etc.

Instructions are unclear and contradictory, parts badly labelled and don’t connect together well. Had no problems finding correct adapter and washer to go into tap re was no way to attach the filter to anything from there. And if it had attached, I can’t see how it would have been leakproof since there was no washer between the parts. Something is either missing or just badly designed. Either way, it’s going straight back to Bunnings and I will be looking for an alternative from another manufacturer.
Leaks a little yes but fast, easy and cheap.
This filter system for me has been great but after reading all the other reviews I know why..I got my handyman to fit it! He did say it was tricky.
It leaks a bit but given that it's cheap to use and as easy as flicking a switch over, I love it. I'm lazy and this works for me
No problem. *thumbs up*
The Stefani On-Tap Purifier works great once you figure out which washers/adapters to use (it comes with a few). As long as its correctly fitted, and not over-tightened, it works perfectly. It's certainly a faster and cheaper option, if a little less elegant. Would definitely recommend it. And it comes with a filter cartridge.
Wow how to ask for help and not get it?
Bought from Bunnings got home and no directions? lots of parts and of course nothing to say how? phoned Katherine at Stefani helpfull and emailed a vague directions manual? ahhhhh the screw to attach to the filter was fused have to return and guess what more of the same junk so up grading to better junk
So far so good - doesn't leak if you re-fit the filter
Bought this from Bunnings with the expectation that it would leak....
And it did! There was a jet of water coming from under the filter housing, following the screw thread of the filter. After taking the housing off, I discovered that the big, thin rubber washer that seals between the filter and the main body had displaced, and water was getting through this, up the thread, and out of the top.
Having re-seated the washer on the edge of the body, then screwed the filter back on - hooray, no leaks! I suspect the assemblers at the factory ar...e just chucking the washers in there without checking they're carefully seated. Only 1 day, so we'll see how it goes, but it looks good, and the switch is less fiddly and at a good angle compared to the Brita equivalent - you can flick it with a finger of the hand holding your glass/whatever. The filtered water does taste a lot clearer, too.
Had a more expensive filter which worked for a couple of years but it did leak..this doesn't...very happy with this filter, cost less, simple to set up and filters are 60% cheaper !..UPDATE Sept 2015. Well the unit started to leak, tried to fix, no luck, bought a new cartridge, it leaked. Tried to improve seal with petroleum jelly and the top of whole unit flew off and cracked. So now without a filter again.
Do NOT Buy This!!!!!!!!
Like many reviews similar, this product sucks! No matter how you try to get it to fit all it does is leak. The box gives you a bunch of rubber washer seals and metal adapter opponents to fit this device to your tap. And the box say "Easy to Install" and will "Just takes a few minutes." What a crock of....... well you know what the next word is.. They don't even include a manual in with this products. All it will do, is anger you as you exhaust all the different combinations of components. Don't waste your time, unless you feel lucky and your tap just happens to be one of the few this product is intended for.
Leaks constantly. Don't buy it! essentially you end up using screws into your existing sink threads. Doesn't take much to figure out that it's not going to be watertight. had 2 mates of mine try to set it up properly (to see if there was a user error) and we all had the same result.
Shame on Bunnings for continuing to sell these products. They need to do their homework...

Questions & Answers
I can't figure out how to attach this filter to my tap! Does the black filter pipe unscrew. It's very tight & I'm scared to try too hard in case I break it!
Still haven’t Answered any questions for the public. Your retailing skills are not good. Even if your products are good or bad you should still listen to people. Will not buy your product again, at least Brita company talk to their customers.
I bought the Twin Undersink filter system. Can I fit that to my current tap in my kitchen? I do not want another tap
