My sliding and fly screen doors were not installed vertically plumb and I would like to adjust them myself if you could tell me which screw hole in which door does what. The sliding door has 4 holes, two top and two bottom facing direction of travel whereas the fly screen door as two holes top and bottom facing inwards.

Our Stegbar tri-fold sliding door was installed 18 months ago. We now have difficulty locking the door because the snib no longer touches to enable the lock to catch on. If a knife is inserted triggering the snib, ti can be locked. How to fix?

Kerry, call 1800 681 168 - this will connect you to your nearest Stegbar outlet. You can also go to our website and click on the "Request a Quote" button top RH side of the page. You can make an enquiry there - if you are in SA your enquiry will come through to myself and the team. Cheers, Mark Agars - Sales Manager SA
all my stegbar doors and windows have scratches on them as though were scratched by a bear they face the ocean what can i do to fix them they were all coated by sickens?
Does anyone know if you can purchase Stegbar windows other than through their outlets, the service is apalling and the reps are useless, they cant even add up, dishonest practises.
Alternatively is there another brand making Cedar windows that look the same, as I have to get them to match the existing stegbar windows.
I believe that you can only buy Stegbar products from Stegbar. I have only had the best experience from Stegbar but have only dealt with one sales rep John Newman. He knows his stuff is helpful and honest. Any monor problems I had John corrected immediately. Hope this helps.
You should try a local joinery shop near you- Where are you located.? To be frank i know you need to match the existing ones but STEGBAR would probably butcher the job anyway so you wouldnt be happy regardless. Most Joinery shops do the stegbar profiles and you will get a much better result. Let me know location and i will recommend a joiner near you.
Does stegbar have a central office that deals with complaints. The recent flooding revealed that they had destroyed flashing when installing the $15000 double glazing
I am afraid I don't know the answer to that. I did not make a formal complaint as they just kept sending the same poor quality installers again and again. In the end I just had to accept poor quality to move on with building. Their installation was delaying many other things I had to get done before Christmas.
I am not at all surprised this happened with you as the quality of their subcontractors is unpredictable to say the least.
They should have a warranty though.
They have a customer service manager who can assist here. Also there is an online feedback area on their website you can log a complaint into. The last area is to call the head office in your state and ask for their service department and they will send an employee out not a contractor to inspect the quality of the workmanship and product they supplied.
Have a quote from Stegbars for a bifold glassdoor. They want payment in full upfront. Having read the reviews of their work on this site, am I right to be concerned about the quality of the finished product? The cost of approximately $8000 seems high.
They do ask for a massive deposit I think I paid in both cases maybe 85% deposit upfront. The for the very smal job took 3 weeks to make 4 drawers and 4 small shelves.
Quality of the product is good. They just can't deliver in a reasonable timeframe. I would try Trend windows, G James glass. $8000 for a bifold seems very expensive.
This does seem very expensive. I would ask if they can do a better price and maybe get another quote to compare. I would also be very reluctant to pay upfront because even though their quality is good if you have any issues afterwards their customer service is terrible and once you have paid don't expect any help!
My door configuration is a single slide screen door and single slide main door opening to a patio.
I was wondering if the aluminium sill is hollow underneath and could allow some water drain off to the room below in heavy rain.
When the frame was installed I have no idea if any flashing was placed under the sill and the water weep holes were now acting as a water inlet, then dripping below, the measurements taken point to this.
Looking upstairs when raining heavy there is no water in the door tracks when the door is in the closed position.
The waterproofing is around the sill and balcony is in extremely good condition, the water drips from around the 2 weep holes on the opening side of the door, this is what makes me ask if the sill is hollow underneath. I have contacted the gold coast office of Stegbar, but they cannot provide me with a sample piece of track to look at or even a drawing.
I would appreciate any advise.
hi there the cill on the door is an open section at the bottom and needs to be flashed appropriately to direct any water back out the front. The weep holes are there to drain the water to the front and in high wind times may drain slower and allow water to pool. It really sounds like a flashing issue and water is running under the section the ideal fix is to take the door out and re-install but not sure if this is practical. I am pretty surprised that Stegbar can't get you a drawing a sample piece of cill as all other suppliers certainly would do this. Maybe this is symptomatic of the reviews on this site that they are treating their customers very poorly. I would call the GM of the Gold Coast branch ([Name Removed]) and get him to help you.
Hope this helps.
We have a huge problem with water ingress through screen doors during heavy rains collecting in the base of the door frame and subsequently seeping through the upstairs floors and damaging the downstairs walls.
Is there a way to allow the water to drain off more quickly?
I would suspect that the weep holes that allow the rain to drain out of the cill have been blocked up or covered. I would also suggest that the flyscreen doors are sat very low into the cill creating a barrier to the water draining back out.
The other obvious issue to get someone to look at is the waterproofing on the balcony and that the door has been flashed correctly. Is the house a new house or existing with a renovation and when did the issue start?
I have been involved in windows and doors for 30 years and will attempt to give you some pointers.
The doors would have been installed as part of a renovation approximately 7 years old. Several inspections show the weepage holes are fine & the doors slide well. Plenty of original paint on the tracks. The balcony was re-waterproofed & re-tiled 2 years ago.
What leeds has said is true but the problem may simply be that Stegbar have installed a door (most likely a basic residential grade suite) into an exposed area and the frame hasn't been designed to handle the weather requirements (200pa+ water pressure and stronger winds so the water isn't draining and hence overflows etc.).
Only solution is replacing the door with a suite more suitable to exposed locations and probably adding a sill tray underneath.
