It works
It works ok but it has issues with the UI. It's hard to get an epg unless the time is set correctly. If you unplug it you lose the time and have to reset it again. Also the channels can't be set to the Channel number eg. 7 to 7, 7 mate to 73. It just lists the channels numerically in order.
The vision quality looks pretty good though.
For $59 it's ok for the price.

great unit
bought it for only 39 bucks.top little unit.can record 2 shows at once but need to be on the same network.eg 9 and 93 or 2 and 22 etc. real easy to set up and all picture quality good thru hdmi and easy to navigate set up pages.recomend as a second unit to record those extra shows and movies to usb then you can watch them on any other media that supports a usb .

Stong's 5432 STB Quality is wanting in comparison to the Laser 6000 STB for the money asked.
I have bought several of the different generations from Strong Tech.over the years, but this one is still the same price as the prior 5405 at $69.90 but the picture quality via HDMI cable is very poor and the remote control push button operation is pathetic.
There is no solid click feel; try pressing on a flexing ruler and you will get my drift. It works, but you will repeat it many times till you understand how it needs to be operated.
The picture is the opposite of sharp even on HD stations like Channel 9 and the colour definition is woeful...Read more

I have a Strong SRT 5432 that is 3 years old and just stopped working. It has no power. The powerpoint is good but no display. Should I return it to Strong for evaluation ? What is the current replacement model ?

Mine did that as well. I'd have to reboot it. Try a different power pack if you have one as well. I sold mine because it was too unreliable.

will this set top box work with a dick smith tv
1 answer
I have no knowledge of DS TV.
I assume it will work, as all modern TV's of the last 10 years are basically all equipped with HDMI input sockets.
Set top boxes are generic and so are TV's, so you should be OK.

No you can't.No apps
No, That and no other apps are provided. It is not a Media Box. Strong do make a Media Box, but it sells for a lot more.
BIG W sell it around $100 ish where the SRT is under $40 or so.
