Wouldn’t want to do it again.
Our construction started in April 2017. Due to a design flaw which was blamed on us construction was stopped at our request and new plans drawn up at our expense and approved. Approval given in July 2017, we didn’t get the keys until August 2018 (26 week build expected).
Our windows at the front and rear are off centre - we didn’t change them, just how they were drawn up. Again our fault for not noticing. Floor tiles were badly scratched, some replaced. Very poor quality tile but surely they should have been protected until handover. Alfresco d...Read more
oors should have been cavity sliders as per design....this issue caused a stop work until agreement was reached. The build took that long our neighbours thought we’d changed builders. Trades were rarely there. When they were there supervision was rare. We got very few weekly updates...mostly it was us chasing them on progress. Understandable given there was often very little to tell us. I would not recommend Stroud if you are doing a knock down rebuild in an established area. Different if you’re in a new estate area where trades are always around. I would also not recommend changing their designs. While our changes were accepted without hesitation it became clear that those changes were to become the core of our problems. We were told the plan was structurally sound yet had to omit a sliding door due to structural concerns. We later discovered that the problem was that the slider had gone in the wrong way. I now have a door I didn’t want and an alarm pad and switches on a wall we didn’t want. Not a huge issue but a constant reminder of our dilemmas. We also have a steel beam crossing our ceiling which had to be boxed in, so is now noticeable rather than being enclosed in the gap between the two floors. This is not how the house design is shown and we never really got an answer as to why that’s how it ended up. Yes, the steel beam is essential for the design but why isn’t it noticeable in the display home? Again, just another reminder of our dramas. We did receive very good assistance from head office when trying to resolve issues and move along our build. We met Ben at handover....what a shame he wasn’t our site supervisor....I think we would have had a very different experience. We also love the design of our Kirra home. What started out with such wonderful promise became a period of great stress for both parties. Everyone I’m sure was very glad to see those keys finally handed over. We eventually had the last of our maintenance issues resolved in August 2022. The anger and disappointments have abated with both sides having come out tired but wiser.

Best experience, highly recommended
We did not have much experience in building house or related paperwork. After my wife choose Stroud Homes, we have been relaxed and know that Fred and the whole Stroud home team will do their best and will build the home as their own. No hidden cost like other builders. Stroud Homes has done beyond what they suppose to do. Stroud team has been really friendly and helpful during our queries. Always professional yet friendly team.

He is insight, knowledgeable, approachable, friendly and endlessly patient. He has extraordinary interpersonal skills, as he understood our feelings and what we have been going through in our mind i.e. job, family life, legal hassles, paperwork, financial stress, time management etc. He has answered every question and explained every form and every part of the process clearly and thoroughly. I also apologies for annoying him with loads of phone calls and emails however he handled so well with patient. Without a doubt, one would not hesitate to ask him any question in terms of building a house as he creates a comfort zone for the customers. Buying a home in this market is challenging, but working with Freddy and Stroud home team made it as effortless and straightforward as possible. Our costs were exact and it’s effective as we planned. Standards inclusions are awesome that does not require to upgrade in most cases. We are in final stage of the house construction, so far so good, We are loving the way that Stroud homes gives us weekly updates and five official visits with site supervisor plus send us some photos of the house. Thus we know the progress of the construction while we have busy days. Our house is in a new developing area, when we compare our results to neighbours and used different companies (which have had cost overruns, lower quality and various other issues), however we have not had any such issues Stroud homes. Therefore we feel privileged and extremely happy that we chose Stroud homes south Sydney Overall, We highly recommend Freddy and Stroud Homes south Sydney for all the first homebuyers.Similar opinion? Don’t compare the total price, compare the standard inclusion. Other builders’ prices are cheaper but upgrades become very necessary. And most builder’s upgrade are what SSW includes in their standard inclusion. I have received a decent house with good inclusion. Some example below which I compared before which you might not pay attention until you moved in: With SSW, ceiling height is 2.59m whereas some are only 2.4m. Kitchen stovetop and oven is 900mm whereas some are only 600mm1 comment

They were great and helpful.
Anytime i had a question or i found an issue it was always quickly addressed. The quality of the build is top notch and have no complaints. I really enjoy the new home and construction was a very quick and efficient process. I would recommend stroud homes to any person looking to build a new home.

Our build was quite managed well! Workmanship is fantastic and our house quality is amazing! We only had one issue and the wonderful team addressed it well and gave us multiple options to fix the problem. We are extremely satisfied with the company! Building our family home
The build was managed well. The sales people were very on the call and they knew what they were talking about. Once the land was registered they moved quickly to start the building process. They were good in terms of their understanding of the process and the needs of us as buyers. The Workman ship could be better but it wasn’t anything massive to complain about, and each thing so far that we have noticed they have been quick to fix. Our final cost was only slightly different and this was due to the adding of soil removal and things that weren’t included. Otherwise it was the same as what we were quoted at the start and we had to modify slightly to fit our block.

I initially signed with Stroud Sydney South West about 2 years ago. The land was not registered for a year and a half. Which gave us plenty of time to plan. What a fantastic experience. esign. Offered suggestions and advise but they were respectful of my ideas. They showed me various options but I never felt pressured to upgrade. I changed the stone benchtops last minute and they accommodated my request. The build was relatively quick with minimal delays (mainly due to weather). The build is of quality and friends and family within various industries have commented the same. I have been left with a beautiful home that myself and my children love. Their after service has been fantastic. I joke that I haven't been lonely as the stroud team has continually checked in with me to make sure all is well. Would I build again? Yes. Great Experience so far (under construction)
Right from the first moment we walked through the door at Stroud Homes South West Sydney we felt welcome, our Builder Freddy has been superb to deal with. He was very open to our ideas for the home and has helped us at every step so far to make it a reality. The expertise and guidance that the Stroud team have provided us has been second to none. This is not the first home we have built and in comparison to previous homes the quality of workmanship and value for money is unparalleled.
Nothing is ever perfect when it comes to building a new home but the way that problems are tackled when they arrise is fantastic.
I would highly recommend Freddy and his team at Stroud South West Sydney. You want be disappointed. Cheers Team

First time building experience
It was really wonderful, I have been looking for building company for a while and I found Stroud homes which was advertise as 16 weeks build time. The process with the design and work was really amazing and even gave some advice on the go. It was really awesome to know when I used to get the picture of my home, how fast it was building. The job was done really quick in the couple of stages but slows down at the end of the building because of the materials couldn't arrived on time.
