Ongoing warranty issues, Subaru dont want to know.
After one of the first services it developed a center diff fault, after multiple dealer visits Subaru said I needed new tyres to make it go away - at 18,000kms! Another dealer cleared the fault and no problems since.
Front suspension noise and handling issue is another matter. 9 visits for warranty repair, half the front end replaced under warranty and problem still the same. Subaru Australia have now said the noise is normal and will not provide any further assistance. Independent reports say otherwise so case now with consumer affairs.

Excellent Value, Great car
So far I'm extremely happy with my 2016 WRX Premium, performance is excellent the CVT auto is extremely good, Handling is incredible and the Interior fit and finish is spot on. This truly is an amazing car for 45k. If I can fault anything the factory Dunlop tyres although grippy are very noisy and I mean VERY noisy. The other great point is so far over 5000k's the car is averaging 9.5l/100. Well done Subaru this really is the performance bargain of the decade.

good performance but quality issues let it down
I have owned many Japanese vehicles most being Honda's and Subaru's. I decided to go back to Subaru after wanting something with more power. At the time of this review my Subaru has done 65,000ks and is regularly serviced at all intervals by Subaru only.
Overall its a good car, is fun to drive but has not been without its faults and flaws. Understandably, To package a AWD performance vehicle for under 50K is quite a feat, but you can see the money is mostly put into the drive train and not into all aspects of the car as I will explain below...Read more
. The Good: - Decent performance and overall fuel economy for a AWD turbo: The direct injection FA engine with twin scroll turbo is pretty good and returns average of 6.5l/100ks on highway and around town 9-9.6l/100ks so about 500ks to a full tank for daily driving. Power is adequate between the 2500-4000 revvs range with only slight lag lower down. - Exterior body is made well/solid and panels line up. - Front seats are quite good and supportive (drivers electric and passenger manual) - Rear legroom is adequate for a car of this size and better than previous models. - Good Driving position, sweeping windscreen, low dash and lack of blind spots in car allow for good all round vision.Similar opinion? My car is jinxed
IF not for the fun factor, I would have given this a straight 1 star.. This is the car to get if you want something fun and relatively affordable. It's a great handling car as well. it has great fuel economy as well, which is unusual for a WRX.
Other than these.. my smile ends. My car was plagued with so many issues that I dont know where to start.. maybe I'll start with cosmetic issues and moving up to the grand finale..
1. Front speaker panel keep popping... took Subaru 1 year and 5 complaints to fix it.
2. Very high front seats wear...Read more

Flawless car
Outstanding all round performance for price of admission yet still sensible enough as a daily with a couple of kids.
Not one day off the road with unscheduled repairs or warranty work in over 25,000 km of fairly hard driving.
If I had to find one gripe is the sound quality of the radio only all other audio inputs sound fine.

Near perfect
Overall i'm satisfied with the car as the value of the car is fantastic. No complaint and actually impressed with the performance for the price. The hatch back is practical, not drawing too much attention like a coupe. Some downsides of the car, the interior is rather cheap and do make noise when driving (maybe because of weight reduction). They are quite minor and livable.

Does the new 2013 come with a 6 speed box?

I believe the STi has the 6-spd Manual or 5-spd Auto while the non-STI WRX is only available in the 5-spd Manual.
