Doesn’t perform or blend like a NutriBullet Ninja

published

Sorry Sunbeam-normally love your product but this is a dud. Read reviews that said it was great so when I needed to replace my blender that I used to use every day thought I’d do what I thought would be an upgrade.

My Ninja made my smoothies (with protein powder) light, airy and fluffy. The cafe blender can’t seem to get air into the mixture to create the mousse like effect. If i Could afford it I’d ditch this and go back to my Ninja. As it is it’s now just gathering dust on the bench and I’m using a wand blender (bowl) and getting better results.

Purchased in June 2021 at Myer for A$139.30.

Not nearly as good as its predecessor

published

My first sunbeam blender continues to work well but this one has had leaking problems around the blade. The blade was replaced without complaint by sunbeam within the guarantee period but was not resolved, so I am not surprised to see it discontinued, but though the first continues to work very well, I am nervous to replace my other lest I have similar problems. The first has done me well in the cafe for a number of years, the later only a couple.

The Jury is Out

We have had a PB9600 for about a year, it was a gift and we probably would not have bought one if we read these reviews. It has had light work mainly blending cooked vegetables for soups. Last night the bearing failed and I phoned Sunbeam this morning. Initially they were keen for me to approach a local repairer for the Blade Assembly at my cost but when I mentioned 'fit for the purpose' I was offered a 'good will' assembly.
Thanks Jessica, appreciate it but if the product is as bad as the reviews suggest it should probably be withdrawn from sale.

great longevity from this blender

published

I purchased this blender in 2007 and got eight years of heavy duty daily use from it; smoothies, soups, cocktails. Very pleased with the performance. Over the last year the plastic jug began to perish and crack and recently it started to leak from the cracks. I did put it through the dishwasher quite a bit. Anyway, very pleased, I just wish the replacement jugs weren't so expensive, it was nearly as much as a replacement unit so I got a new blender. I felt bad binning the perfectly working base, the new blender jug won't get put into the dishwasher.

Would not touch it with a barge pole!

published

I went through 3 blenders in two years. Twice replaced by the local electrical retailer where I purchased it from. Then one blender was replaced by Sunbeam. Sunbeam would not replace the 4th blender because it has already been replaced. The bearings in the shaft wear out quickly and can not handle a decent smoothie cocktail.
Now days there are far more superior products on the market. Don't waste your money on Sunbeam.
It had the strongest motor on the market when I originally purchased it.
The bearings in the shaft wear out causing the liquid to leak down through the cutting shaft all over the motor.

Sunbeam cafe blender makes the best smoothies

published

I have found my 2000w Sunbeam Cafe Series crushes ice and makes great thick shakes the more ice cubes I put in the more like icecream it feels whe I add milk. I have had my blender for about two years and use it every day in summer time. I would definetly buy another cafe series blender.
I like the way it crushes ice cubes

Terrible

We paid $238 for a blender that makes more noise than an angle grinder cutting through cement and a jug that will crack at the base after only a few uses. This jug problem is the most annoying as Sunbeam refuse to admit there is a problem and will make you jump through substantial hoops to get it fixed. Don't buy one is the answer. Sunbeam make the clain that the polycarbonate jug is stronger than glass but we are now on our second jug and they are looking to blame us for its demise. we have never used hot liquid in it nor have we dropped it. Shonky customer service.
Nothing at all
Noisy as hell and the jug will crack.

published

Useless if you need to replace the jug every 3 months as is my experience. I don't mind if Sunbeam supply a new jug regularly. They should fix the bearing problem.
Its power and efficiency.
Just as the reviewer loges2798 pointed out, the just has cracked - the part that holds the blade assembly. The noise, is, I think due to faulty bearings in the blade assembly. I think the jug bearings are designed for the less powerful models (e.g. 1,200) and cannot stand up to the higher speeds.

Terrible

Now that I've read comments by other reviewers with similar problems,
I have to assume the blade assembly is just poorly designed for this model.
Sunbeam really need to fix the bearing problem before selling any more.
large jug
I dislike the noise it makes - turns out to be a grinding noise in the bearing of the blade assembly. I bought a replacement blade assembly assuming that it was a one off problem, but the replacement blade is now grinding as well.

Simply the best. It perform what ever u want. It's not noisy as the one I purchase in America (different brand) that is 2 times noisier than this one.
Powerful, Elegant, Exellent taste
It does not last long. Some leaking for now using nearly one year. It may because I used it everyday.

Powerful but parts let me down

published

I loved the power of this blender, great with ice. BUT I bought this product because of the warranty, it was expensive, hence I thought it would last longer than other blenders. The 3 year warranty was only for the motor not blade assembly which failed at about 1 year, very dissapointing. I have just bought another blade assembly so will see how long that lasts! The handle design is also poor with a small hole that lets water in when you wash it and won't come out.
Good power
Blade assembly, noisy

will never buy sunbeam again

BAD PRODUCT (Only lasted 100 - 200 smoothies.) The bearing in the cutter blade unit is not able to be replaced easily. It requires the purchase of a new cutter blade unit which is EXPENSIVE. This is a BAD PRODUCT.

Cafe Series PB9600

Is this the same lender as the Villaware Moderno pro 1000 watt? Villaware does not make them anymore and I would love to get another. The blade did break but it was a great blender for the price.

Hi Laura.a.westbrook our new model PB9800 would be more like the villaware. Please see on our website.
