Powerful, fast, and easy to clean!
I bought this blender on boxing day last year as I was looking for something durable and do the proper job. I know this product is not cheap, but it really does a great job. It's very powerful and fast (smoothie will be done in 30 seconds!). I use the pre-clean button with a tiny amount of detergent with water straight after using it. It cleans so well, so I don't really need to wash it again. It does an excellent job.

Powerful but very noisy and requires scraping
This is a powerful machine, but it is incredibly noisy and is leaves parts of the mixture stuck to the side, needing constant scraping of smoothies, soups etc. Also seems like there is a little leakage from the bottom at times. Next time I'll get one that is round. Perhaps the square design is to blame for the stuff not mixing.

Good blender
Blends well, but is impossible to use with just solids! Needs ample liquid added to blend anything properly, but for blending liquids and solids it does a good job. Noise level is ok.

Poor Quality for Price
The blender is leaking after one year and a half. I have read many reviews and many people have the same problem. It is low quality manufacturing control as it is a manufacturing problem. The cost to fix it, it is almost the same as buy a new one.The warranty for this product is just one year. So, Poor quality for a big company as Sunbeam. No Recommend it!!

Good price and power but consistently faulty
I was excited to use this blender as for the price, the capabilities were great. Within a period of 2 months I have had to return this blender 5 times. Twice because the buttons (slow start and smoothie) stopped working and the other three times I was unable to unlock the base and blade.
I went through Sunbeams customer service and while they were very helpful they did not resolve the problem for me.
The blade can be removed but during the manufacturing process sunbeam are tightening the locking nut too much.
I do not recommend this blender. Either go for something cheaper or save up for a better brand!

Good blender
Good blender, while it's a sleek design the only issue I can find with it is the cleaning of it. Despite having the "pre clean function" the instructions aren't clear on how to remove the blade & seal ring so that it can be cleaned properly. It's great for blending hot soup etc due to having a 2 litre duralite jug and it's great for crushing ice. Having the addition of a " Pushing" baton is a great idea and all round it's a nice blender to have.

This Blender is perfect, it makes the best smoothies, Love the large size and crushes ice easily.
This blender is perfect with a strong enough motor to crush ice it makes the best smoothies to any thickness. The large two litre capacity makes it awesome for making smoothies for the whole family.

Great quality all rounder - and better than my mother's nutri-bullet for juices!
We got this for our wedding 8 years ago and it's used daily and is still going strong and looks as good as new.
It's so solid, looks great in my kitchen, easy to clean (I only put it in the dishwasher every few weeks, a quick rinse out with a dish brush right after I've used it is all needed). but I was surprised at how incredibly effective it is. I was tempted to get a nutri-bullet or similar as I have green juices most days, I tried my mum's a few times & my Sunbeam normal blender is so much more effective at blending perfectly - crushing ice, fibrous fruit & leaves (e.g. kale) with not a hint of green leaf specks left like the Nutri-Bullet.
It is loud but I don't mind as it does such a good job.

LOVE my blender!
We recently upgraded to this blender and absolutely love it. It's large size means we can make smoothies for the whole family. The motor is strong and blends even dates and nuts quickly and easily.
It washes very very easily and the blade is detachable from the bottom for more of a deeper clean.
It does have a bit of a smell when it is running but that may just be because it is relatively new.

Cafe Series 2000W blender
We bought this blender after burning out 2 other ones when crushing ice and making protein shakes for teenage boys. We were happy with this machine's power but found it noisy and it always had a slightly hot engine/new smell which concerned me. I sold it after a handful of uses and bought a thermomix... best decision ever!

worth the price
I had previously wasted so much money on magic bullets and some other items. While this machine is big and bulky and takes a lot of space I realise it was worth it. It was able to puree oranges along with the peel. It crush the the ice and milk to create the ultimate healthy smoothy with no ice cream.
It's noisy but that's cause of its powerful motor.
It's light weight plastic jug is easy to wash and clean. Unlike most blenders this have a blade that is made of durable metal.
An excellent quality product that I had wish I purchase long ago.

Great for Smoothies!
This mixer has been really great for making yummy smoothies. It is in good condition still and the blades are able to cut through ice very well. This makes it also perfect for making slushies and cutting the fruits very finely. I would recommend getting this mixer if you are looking for one where you can use everyday without any problems! Honestly, this has been a very good buy.

Powerful blender!
I was blown away by the power of this blender. 2000w is unheard of! The blades themselves don't feel or look "sharp" but it does a good job. i use the "Smoothie" preset everyday. The speed changes throughout to let the ingredients settle before pulverising everything. Literally whips up a smoothie in 20 - 30secs.
I really appreciate the sturdy metal base (where the jug connects to the blender). It's a great looking blender.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, Brown liquid oozing from blade barrel
We bought this machine believing in the Sunbeam brand, believing in the quality of a Blender that retailed for over than $150 more than the other brands we were considering at the time.
What a mistake that was! Within 2 years it was oozing brown liquid from the blade barrel, making a massive mess every single time we use it. And within 3 yrs the motor is making a terrible noise.
It simply isn't fit for purpose. In fact it's not only unfit, it's a joke. I wish I had spent $59 on a cheap Kmart brand, it may be white and not as nice looking, but I bet it would still be working.
Sunbeam you should be ashamed that so many people are reporting this same issue.

Grunty power
We love and use our blender daily mainly for smoothies and ice chai' the simple one button operation for smoothie and ice crush work great and in approximately 15sec it has blended whatever ingredients to a smooth enough drinkable consistency without creating much heat in the mix from ineffective blades.
My only complaint is that the slow start button stopped working.
It is a heavy base and the jug is easily washed and easy to pour from.
The best bit is how much grunt it has - much more start power than other blenders i have used.

Not again
I was a major fan of the Sunbeam Cafe Series blender until I too experienced the leakage around the blade unit. This is my second blender and it stopped working this morning. It is almost 4 years old but still… I look after my appliances and expect better. I can't go back and will now need to source another brand.

Leaking heavily from under the blades onto the base unit
I received this last May as a birthday gift. It was highly recommended by the sales person at Myer & we have several other Cafe Series items so thought we were getting a quality unit. Worked ok - noisy but did the job. The base started leaking a few months in & initially was just a few drops of liquid, gradually a little more & in the last month has started to just run through (have had it for about 16 months) & liquid is basically pouring through onto the base/motor unit so it's unusable. I called the customer service center today & was told i...Read more
need to buy a replacement blade assembly so to contact a parts center directly - did that & found out the three parts I need to replace total over $100 & are currently out of stock. Not happy with the product or the product support - going by the reviews here it sounds like a common fault. Would not buy a Sunbeam blender again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Awesome blender but not built to last
I received the PB9800 as a birthday present two years ago and it make awesome smoothies. Unfortunately it started to leak around the blade a while ago and I've stopped using it since (I would use it every couple of weeks).
After reading these reviews and the responses from Sunbeam it was obvious that this was a design fault and that Sunbeam were aware of and we wavering the $55 part replacement cost. However I've been referred to a service centre to pay for the part.
I'll be putting my $55 towards a new blender that works and avoiding Sunbeam in the future.

Not nearly as good as its predecessor
My first sunbeam blender continues to work well but this one has had leaking problems around the blade. The blade was replaced without complaint by sunbeam within the guarantee period but was not resolved, so I am not surprised to see it discontinued, but though the first continues to work very well, I am nervous to replace my other lest I have similar problems. The first has done me well in the cafe for a number of years, the later only a couple.

Do the pre program function lights stay on when not in use but plugged into power outlet or can they be turned off without disconnecting power cord.

Customer CareSunbeam
The lights will remain lit if the blender is plugged into a switched on power source to indicate that the machine has power and that blades will spin when buttons are pushed. Just as a safety precaution, to indicate that the unit is on.

I have this blender but wondering if it's possible to buy a food processor attachment that can fit on this?
