This is a great item I love it.
I bought this in a for a make shift kitchen as my kitchen is being rennovated. I have used it every day. It cleans beautifully and looks brand new after I clean it. I have made roasts, pancakes, chicken dishes, rice and pasta dishes. I thought it would go in the cupboard when my new kitchen was finished, I am sure it will remain a favourite applicance and will be used in my new kitchen. I cant imagine living without now. I am going to try to bake a cake in it next!!!
Purchased in March 2021 at The Good Guys for $56.00.

Disappointing!
I usually buy the Sunbeam classic skillet but I bought the duraceramic version on the understanding that it made things such as potatoes etc. very crisp. Unfortunately, after only a few weeks of use the area where the element is became very brown and everything would stick to it so the crunch on the potatoes would be left on the base of the skillet! :-( I had to wait some time to take it back because the store did not have the replacement I wanted but I have now returned the skillet to the store I bought it from and have replaced it with the classic skillet which I have found over the years to stay non-stick and easy to clean for at least 12-18 months of everyday use!
Purchased in June 2021 at Harvey Norman for $55.00.

Two Sunbeam DuraCeramic SK6000 skillets- wanted to love it - twice - and not happy with it twice sadly
I loved the skillet at first - then the first one's lid fell apart and was impossible to get back together - so got replacement with a big p;ush from where I bought it - and now this second one which I've had since January - is burning along the element line - as someone else noted - and it is impossible to clean- have been soaking it and trying to make it nice again - but I can't - I am very disappointed - and while I love the idea of it and loved it at first - two in a row being bad is too much. I had an old skillet from many years ago which...Read more
I can't remember what it was - it was given to me - and I loved it - it was higher on the sides too - and could use it much more than these with the lower sides - but sadly that one died and I guess it would have been from the 80;s type - I just don't know what I am going to get next - I won't buy another one of these at all- though as I am mostly cooking for one I really like skillets ..I have never [psted a review before but with two being faulty in about one year - I felt I should do this one

Hello artlynk,
You can return it for another item of equal or lesser value, it doesn't need to be the same skillet.
Hope that helps.

I love these skillets
I upgraded to a DuraCeramic from the Classic version. I think it’s a good step up from my Classic. I use mine most nights of the week. The heat seems really well distributed because everything cooks evenly and it doesn’t destroy my meats. I find it fast, convenient and really easy to clean. I put my Classic on the dryer that was on top of the washer when I put the washing on and it rattled off. Considering the height from which it fell, the damage was all in all quite minimal but it was my excuse to upgrade. I’ll give it the test of time as others have done and review the review if need be but it’s off to a great flying start. Either way, I like these skillets. They work really well for me.

Sunbeam DuraCeramic Skillet
At last a frypan that doesn't have Teflon.
It's similar to the old skillet but has a really clean white ceramic liner in pan.
Non stick and healthier to use and easy to.vlean with a damp cloth.
I love this frypan. Small size for single meals, eggs and stir fries. Doesn't retain smells.
For the single cook or small living spaces. Perfect.

works well the first 4 month
Was great the first 4 month to cook my eggs, then became sticky even with oil, even if I never burnt anything in it. I just bring it back, BingLee told me the coating isn't covered with the warranty. The duraceramic is not durable like the name suggested it. Will go back to teflon skillet from now.

Has to be one of the easiest to clean frypans available....for the first seven or so months anyway.
Essentially, this is just like any other Sunbeam Skillet Frypan you have ever used. It (mostly) looks the same, cooks the same and the heat control operates the same way. It heats quickly and is a good size for one or two people. The gradient on the outside also is just the right compromise between holding the food in and being able to scoop it out (plastic utensils only). It does have, however, one very big difference from any other you may have used..the cooking surface.

ey/black in appearance, this one now sports an off-white ceramic surface.and does it make a difference. Sunbeam calls it “Dura-Ceramic” along with claims of higher scratch resistance and 4 x greater longevity of the non-stick surface over PTFE. I must admit I wasn’t initially swayed by Sunbeam’s claims of how non-stick it was. Non-stick surfaces over the years have had a chequered past both in functionality and longevity. However, I did need to buy a new skillet to replace my previous Sunbeam Skillet (which was losing its PTFE coating and had exterior paint peeling) so figured I might as well give this one a go. After using it for over a month now, I can fully attest To Sunbeam’s claims regarding the non-stick nature of the porcelain surface. No matter how messy the cooking gets, you can literally wipe it clean with a paper towel. It really is that good. Assuming there are no “yet to be discovered” health issues with the porcelain surface, I’m additionally happy to be rid of the Teflon surface and its dubious health qualities. The surface, being made of ceramic does feel more resistant to wear and will hopefully last longer than the PTFE surface. It says that it can be placed in the dishwasher but I'm reluctant to do that due to some exposed aluminium on the underside. Aluminium and dishwasher tablets really don't work well together. In any case, there's really no need because of just how easy it is to clean. UPDATE The above was my initial review. Sorry to say that at now less than two years ownership, the unit is failing miserably (despite following all prescribed care instructions to the letter). Specifically, the non-stick coating has pretty much gone but of much greater concern, the black covering material on the lid is flaking off in pieces and contaminating the food. This means the lid can no longer be used which limits the frypan's use.Purchased in March 2021 at The Good Guys for $53.95.

Love It!!!
It replaced my old Aluminium Skillet which was still working but had started to stick. It's been great. Everything browns beautifully and slides around the pan without a stick. The only thing I have to be careful with is using coconut oil for cooking as if I have it hot this can burn slightly. Just the oil. Not the pan or the meat that's cooking. I bought one for me and a friend on special at Retravision, Absolutely stoked.

Wish I had purchased sooner!
What a fabulous item. I had always looked at these and thought they looked too small. After visiting my sister and using hers I went out and purchased mine. It is so easy to use and nothing sticks to it so cleaning can just be a wipe with a paper towel, though I do still give it a wash. I wholeheartedly recommend this appliance.

Questions & Answers
Ray Lasked
Well, not a good start. Used 12 times or so and the food is already sticking and requiring some considerable effort to clean off. It's a useful size in my tiny kitchen, so can I put a foil tray straight onto the "duraceramic" surface? "Duraceramic" - implying durable. Now there's a misnomer!
