Quality Machine at Excellent price!
We are coffee snobs - the only thing we are snobbish about. When you have only one or two coffees are they have to be good. The Sunbeam delivers quality consistently.
We have had our machine for 4 1/2 years now and it's probably coming to end of life (there are signs) but it's still making great coffee.
In the early days we could not get consistently- but realised it was possibly our cheap grinder. Wr got a reasonably grinder and get perfect coffee every time. Very happy.

Good For Price
Purchased this about a year and a half ago. Good coffee machine, however ours has broken twice and we've got replacements both times. Works well other than that and makes good coffee. Would purchase this again, however, I would have purchased a longer warranty on it as ours is starting to look like it might break again as the milk isn't frothing great.

Amazing machine
Coffee is cafe style.
Very easy to use.
Fairly easy to clean.
Extremely well built and I believe (and hope) it will last a long time.
I can now make cafe style coffee's from home. I use Merlo beans and it comes out amazing.
the dual boiler is amazing and I can froth Milk and make coffee at the same time.

Good coffee, machine broke after 18 months of average use.
Machine was working well enough. Good brew. Matched this with the Sunbeam EM0480 grinder.
Super rapt with the machine initially because ithe EM7000 was purchased for a crazy cheap price, cheers to that OzBargain hot tip. Was a little weary of the 12 month warranty on this one, as the EM6910 carries a 5 years. There are noticeable incremental improvements in design over the EM6910 model which I bought for my parents a couple of years earlier.
18 months in and the machine began to pour water out the group head surround and through the bottom ...Read more
the machine, with no pressure going through the head. Being a handy guy, (12 months after it breaking mine you) I disassembled the machine to identify the problem part (the metal connector pipe to the thermoblock had snapped, possibly a design flaw if this pipe is under extreme pressure in operation as this pipe sits unassisted) I purchased the replacement part ($110) and I've fitted and we're back in business for the moment.Similar opinion? Don't blame the machine.
Buying the same racquet as Rafa or Roger does not guarantee you win a Major world tournament.
Learning to use the equipment effectively may improve your game, if you practice.
To use the same analogy, the purchase of a machine like the EM7000 will not guarantee you will suddenly produce a superior coffee. . But you might, if you practice, and follow some proven guidelines.
Forget things like double wall baskets. Sunbeam don't include them with the EM7000 because they know the machine is capable of much better results without them, if the eq...Read more

Whats the power consumption of the EM7000 ?

From my perspective absolute rubbish, I am so over Sunbeam. Noisy, and very poor temperature calibration, The milk frothing component is next to useless Still trading on their pre nineties reputation. Their product and after sales service sucks. Fortunately the one I had came from Big W, and true to their reputation, they did not hesitate and gave me a full refund on the spot!

Has anyone had problems with the steam wand temperature gauge reading incorrectly? Had machine for 3 months, it has been great. The milk is getting much hotter than the guage is reading. Also I am unable to remove the end of the steam wand off for cleaning purposes.

I'm sorry that your experiencing this problem...hope I don't. I've only had my machine for a month, I use it regularly and love it. We do have a problem though.... We're put off going to our favourite cafe, our coffee is just as good.
The milk temp is out due to the design. The sensor is around the back of the wand, and it is, (IMO) not properly insulated - I don't know if it can be - so it is reading temp OF THE WAND, not of the milk.
I had EM6910 & used clip-on thermometers when making milk - barista course I did said you could tell the temp accurately by hand. That 's not true so I got thermos & calibrated using hot tap water and medical grade thermometer. So with EM7000 I used them & the built in thermo & found there is approx 5º discrepancy between what built in reads & actual temp out in the milk.
No biggie, you just let the thermo get to about 5º the recommended region.
But your case sounds like the exact opposite. I suggest first get a clip on thermo (cost about $12 - $15) and check your milk temps. If the situation is as you describe your machine is faulty and should be returned under warranty.

I don't think the tip comes off on the EM7000.
To keep things clean I run a cleaner (mixed with water in the tank) through the wand every so often. Cino Cleano is available from my local roaster and does an excellent job. But 2 tricks will help you never having to worry about it.
1. When turn off steam, remove wand from milk BEFORE steam stops. Takes a little practice & you have to pull jug away at angle of the wand to avoid splash. What happens is, if you follow SB recommendation, steam is highly expanded water, & when that stops pushing out the tip, milk can be sucked back up wand. Removing wand BEFORE steam stops (but after you turn it off) prevents this suction effect.
2. After EVERY use, purge the steam. Point the wand back into drip tray and run steam for few seconds. Removes any gunk in wand before it can cook and congeal.
