Well, it toasts
Having just said goodbye to our favourite toaster of all time, a Sharp 4-Slot, I spent an unacceptable part of my life looking at the toasters on this site and thought, "For goodness sake, we reached the moon on a pocket calculator in the sixties, what's so difficult about making a toaster?" We long ago gave up on toasters and decided to buy gadgets in the lower price range on the grounds they were no more likely to fail than those costing three figures; then get another one when they die. The Sharp is no longer made so I opted for the Sunbeam...Read more
for the very reason Simon (elsewhere) thought it a good buy; it has a "lift and check" function that does not disturb the cycle . . . and that's it on the plus side. After one week, burnt black edges. AND a special feature just for you: an almost black end mount with tiny dark grey writing for the functions. They ain't the only manufacturer spawning this sort of design crap . . . looks good, useless in practice. I am convinced some twit who has never toasted bread in his life designed it on a computer screen and sat back thinking, "Wow, am I good or not?" The Sunbeam will doubtless see out the warranty period and then the pantomime starts over. At least with Net I can now cut down on the physical trailing around and head straight to Big W knowing in advance I will be getting a Three Star at best. PS: Mr Sharp - you got it right and stopped making it. Why?

Perfect toaster
This toaster is perfect for our homemade, larger slice bread. It is sturdily made and easy to clean. It toasts evenly brown according to the setting. The Browning Control allows for plenty of variability, while the Quick Check feature is useful for monitoring the colour. The bread slots are 14.4 cm long. No manufacturer gives this information in the printed specs but talk about the width, ie regarding the thickness of the bread. Many toaster slots are only 13 cm long. We are delighted with this toaster and gladly recommend it.

Not a good toaster
This toaster comes with many good features like being able to side the toast up during a cooking cycle for a quick look, but the sad part is it does not cook well. Burnt crusts, while the middle of the bread is not cooked. I have tried many different settings to get the bread to cook well, but come to the conclusion this is not a good toaster. Since replaced with a Kambrook and have perfectly cooked toast again.

2 Settings White or Burnt
Bought this toaster about a year ago, slow from the start. We toast every morning and have to adjust it each time, to get the middle toasted it burns the edges, because I paid $70 I gave it a chance but the toaster we had for 10 yrs prior toasted more reliably than this one ever did

Not a LONG slot - just standard size bread ONLY
OK so I bought this toaster after reading many reviews because it was the only one that got good reviews (OK only 3 but lets not worry about that). However I ended taking it back the very next day....
WARNING: its slot size is normal - not long. I mention this as I use sliced bread I buy from Coles (Lawsons Traditional Bread) that did not fit. In fact the only bread that will fit is standard size bread like Sunblest etc.
Why they call it a Long Slot I don't know - it is very misleading when you are in a hurry. Must be Marketing.

y I took it back to JB HI-FI and they gave me a refund (FULL credit to them BTW) and I went and bought its big brother which can toast 4 slices (or just 2 slices of my bread!). I wrote a long review on that toaster and they are the same so have a read of that review. I am very happy with my longer Long Slot but not because it is a great toaster because it is only average. BUT it was inexpensive AND it has the Quick Check feature which I think is FANTASTIC.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great toaster, lasted several years.
After buying (and returning) several expensive toasters, I decided to give this toasted a go. I have had it 3 years now. Used daily to make between 6-12 slices of toast (family of 6). The only problem I've ever had with it was the lever not staying down, which was easily fixed by giving the toaster a good clean out.

It's pretty good
Had it a few weeks, and it's been pretty good. I got a black and grey model. Doesn't look that fancy but it's functional.
Writing a review because when my old one broke couldn't find a positive review of a toaster it seems people just bag them when they break.

A great toaster, bit bigger than normal 2 slice.
This is a great toaster and does what it needs to...toast bread. That said I have had to up my usual setting of 3 to 3.5-4 as bread is still quite light when it comes out. The 'quick check' function is OK and I found myself using it when I put it back down for a bit longer. It fits crumpets and bread roll halves well. Only issue is its small but bigger than other small 2 slice toasters, there's quite a bit of body around it especially the ends compared to how big the actual toaster slots are. They don't seem any longer than a standard toaster too. I purchased from Big W just in case it didn't perform I knew I could return it without too much trouble.

Four months to the day and, to announce the toast was ready, it went bang, along with the lights, TV, computer and microwave. Just a tripped fuse but alarming none the less. Heading back to Big W with the carcass
