Hi! We bought our Sunbeam mini espresso barista yesterday. Have gone to make coffees today and the handle is extremely tight. My boyfriend (luckily stronger than me) is also unable to make a coffee as we can’t insert the grinds and pull it to the centre.

Has anyone else had trouble with the handle grip being extremely tight?

Thanks guys!

Yes, the handle is initially tight, very tight. It loosens a little bit after some time. After 1 month of use I can report that it is still tight-ish. I don't mind this as it indicates the seal between the two components is tight and that means all the steam pressure is going through the coffee and not escaping elsewhere.

If I insert the group handle & turn to centre or turn over way with no coffee in it I have no trouble but when it has the coffee grinds in & tampered to the right level it is hard to turn to centre & twice as hard to twist it to remove it I have to hold onto the machine & get my husband to help to twist it. should it be that hard? what can I do as I dont want a hard job just to get a descent coffee.
Thankyou any suggestions

Hi I have a new Sunbeam mini barista and am just getting used to it. I drink my coffee black, so pretty much an Americano, but when I use the machine the coffee is coming out quite bubbly. I imagine I am either tamping too hard, or too gently, but it always comes out with air in it so the coffee has bubbles all over the top. How can I stop this happening?

Hi

My machine is pouring water from inside the spill tray when the machine is off. Only plugged in from the power point. It does not stop til the power point is turned off. You can’t make a coffee because the machine is trying to heat up when you turn the dial and will pour out cold coffee

Please help!

I have the same problem. Flashing steam light and nothing works. Mine doesn't do the warming up part though, just goes straight to flashing steam when turned on

Hi I have the EM4300 and it has been great. We make 2 coffees a day on average and I perform the descaling procedure about every 4 months. I bought it from Myer for Christmas 2018 so it’s about 15 months old. On the weekend I went to make the morning coffee and when I put it on the 2 cup position it started spitting water out of the steamer wand. I turned it off and turned it back on but the same thing happened. I went through the descaling mode again, thinking it might be a blockage but no change. What do I do next. Please help it’s been 3 days with no coffee so the house is very tense in the mornings. Please can someone help me?

I think if you are still under warranty you should contact sunbeam. If it’s out of warranty keep persistent as they will replace it.

The steam light seems to flash, even when not using steam wand.
When trying to pour coffee shot, steam light starts flashing and machine stops. Only way to stop it from flashing is to turn off and try again.
At times when I turn the machine on, steam light flashes straight away and no other function works on machine.

Hi I'm having the same issue as Brad and Penny, my Sunbeam Mini Barista leaks out of the steam wand instead of through the coffee filter. The machine is only 13-14 months old. We've done our best to troubleshoot ourselves. Hoping there is a solution.

I came to this site to see if there was anything l could do that l hadn't already.
Just like the customer here Brad, my machine has suddenly started squirting water out of the steam wand when lm trying to make a coffee. The coffee is just dripping and nothing much else is happening.
I have cleaned and tried everything suggested In the manual.

Just a little disappointed as l only purchased this little over a year ago.

Is there anything you can help me with?

Given you have followed the manuals instructions to no avail, please return the unit to your retailer for a replacement because it sounds like a faulty unit to me.

I am having a hard time reaching your customer help line. I am having trouble with my mini barista EM 4300, which is leaking water underneath. The machine was bought in june, 2018. This is the second mini barista I have had. The first one lasted about three years. What can you do to rectify this problem. I think the machine should last longer than 18 months, especially as it is only used to make two coffees each day.

It sounds like what I've had - that a surge has scambled the electrics so the pump keeps pumping out the water in the tank. If all the water you have put in leaks out with a pump noise - this is your issue too.
I now have an adapter at the powerpoint with my new machine but a surge protector would be better.

I think I have a different problem with my machine. This has nothing to do with the pump. I have spoken to sunbeam and they are not at all interested in helping with this problem, telling me to get it to a service centre (300ks away), at my own expense to have it looked at. I am not happy that a machine that cost this much lasts just 18 months. From reviews, this is a common problem. This is the last sunbeam appliance I will be buying.

My Sunbeam Mini Barista is literally one week out of warranty, and now when trying to make a cup of coffee, water squirts continually out of the steam wand. I've descaled it, made sure the filter basket isn't blocked, but still the water pours out of the steam wand. Not sure what, if anything, I can try next?
