There are so many negative feedback about this Product MX8500.
Do you have any comments on this model ?
What guarantee Sunbeam can provide this is not going to be a fail Model ?

Mine stopped working almost imediately and had the inconvienience of returning it then purchasing a replacement...another brand. Others appear to have had many and varying issues with this model. I would never presume to tell another what to buy, however if you purchase one of these be prepared for the very high possibility of it failing. As for what Sunbeam can guarantee it wont fail, ask them.

And Now cannot remove them. Is it safe to turn on without being flush to the machine?

hello Melody S,
Could I please clarify - Are you not able to insert the bowl back into place or does the bowl get dislodged after you start using it?

Chip

The bowl can only be locked in place when the swing arm is in the lifted position - with the appliance off, click the black button on the side and use the handle to lift the beaters out of the bowl. Use the lever on the side below the bowl to select either the large or small bowl, then fit the bowl into the base - you should feel the notches on the base and bowl align with each other as the bowl seats itself, then turn the bowl clockwise about a quarter turn and you will feel it lock into place.
One of the beaters should have a grey collar, the other is white. Ensure the grey collarded beater is used in the left hand side slot - it's marked with a black dot. If you have them the wrong way around the bowl won't turn.
Click the side button to release swing arm back down into the bowl until it clicks into place.

Hello Maggie S,
Does the wear look like it's on the beaters or the part where they are inserted into the mixer?
Could I also ask, how long have you had this mixer for?

Maggie S.

Thanks for reply.
I have had the mixer for probably over ten years, but it has not been over-used during that time. Its appears that the beaters are looking a bit rough on the edges. But then, is this normal?? It certainly sounds like its the beaters that are hitting together and not at the point of insertion into the mixer.

Hello Sonja B,
Yes, the bowl is designed to spin. This is not a planetary mixers so the beaters don't move around the bowl, to ensure that the beaters mix all your ingredients the mixing bowl moves.

You will not be able to fix this problem, it is a design fault and new beaters will be chewed out in a very short time.

Hi there, is there meant to be a something holding the turn table on the bottom once you put it in the hole? I have tried to use it & it vibrates & moves around my bench? Thank you

Hello Tracey,
The Mixmaster classic is not a planetary mixer, the bowl is designed to spin so that the beaters can reach and mix all the ingredients in the bowl.
I hope that helps... I think that is what you are asking. If not please reach out again.

Yes, throw it in the bin and buy a Kenwood, otherwise it will keep giving you trouble

Sunbeam
Customer CareSunbeam

Hello Kelly,
The only time the bowl is hard to release is when you might have locked it in at an angle. bring your eyesight level with the bowl to see which side it is angled to and when twisting to release put more pressure on the elevated side to push it back down into place.

Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. Our mix masters do heat up after a few minutes in use however - it shouldn't be too hot after only 5 minutes. If purchased within the last 12 months and you have your receipt please return it to the store of purchase for a replacement. If you do not have your receipt, please call us on 1300 881 861. The beaters are too far above the bowl to effectively mix ingredients (about 1/4" clearance). My 89 year old mother finally gave up and used her hand mixer to make cookies. Is there any way to adjust the height of the beaters so they are closer to the bowl?

Customer C.Sunbeam

Hi Brenda,
Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. The attachment height cannot be adjusted on the MX8500. It will depend on the quantities used. Kind regards, Sunbeam
