All show no go
Purchased this to replace our old toaster we have had for years. Probably sucked in to the style of it rather than functions. Now when using it there is no bagel or crumpet setting. This allows you to cook one side more than the other, but not anymore. It has basic functions that a much cheaper toaster will give you. I just assumed we would be getting more functions, not less. Would not buy again, just glad I got it 50% off.
Purchased in September 2021 at Sunbeam Australia.

Looks great, functions well
Our previous toaster of around 10 years finally gave up and we were more often than not getting a slice of warm bread with burned edges. So off to find a toaster we wanted. I loved the sleek and elegant look of this toaster, the colour was exactly what we were after and being a 4 slice with 2 different compartments was a bonus. Looks great in the kitchen. But we performed what i call the 'Vogels test' and here it fell a little short. I prefer to cook toast with one push but sadly to cook Vogels we needed to find the time combination that cooked...Read more
to perfection which meant pushing down twice. Took a day or so to find it but have got it to perfection and the toast most of the time cooks it the same each time. There are some inconsistencies and every now and then it has to go down a third time but for the most part this way of cooking it is manageable and we do not mind. We have had the toaster for a few months and are really happy, the downside is the cost which was in the very upper end of our budget, am hoping to get many years out of this considering the cost.Purchased in June 2021 at Noel Leeming Physical store for A$180.00.

I have just Purchased this toaster and it does nut seem to cook crumpets is that correct? and can you give some advice as to how to do it if it doesn't?

I haven't tried crumpets in this toaster but I do find them to have similar issues to vogels. It may take some experimenting to get the right time to cook just as it has for vogels. Would be interested in how they turn out. I don't see why crumpets shouldn't be successfully toasted in this toaster.
I assume you may mean the ability to cook one side more than the other, bagel, muffins or crumpets. Answer is nope, no chance. This expensive toaster lacks many features that basic toasters have.

Hi Phil,
There is a number of tips on how to toast crumpets in the manual:
1.High-lift lever
When toasting small pieces of bread,
crumpets or muffins we recommend using
the High-lift lever to prevent you from
burning your fingers.
2. Bread which has a very uneven surface will
require a higher setting.
Thicker cut pieces of bread (including
crumpets) will take longer to toast
sometimes significantly longer. This is
because more moisture must be evaporated
from the bread before toasting can occur.
Very thick pieces of bread may require two
toasting cycles.
