efficient and easy to clean

published

We have had this trusty little toaster for a couple of months and we use it multiple times a day. It's super efficient and heats things up way faster than an oven. It also has a tray at the bottom that you can use to easily clean crumbs out of the toaster.

A great oven - does the job everytime!

published

It's been very reliable and heats, bakes, toasts and grills small quantities of food efficiently and quickly. I like it's small footprint. As my kitchen is not large it is a perfect fit. I have baked pizzas, sausage rolls, grilled veggies and all my food have turned out well. It's energy efficient and is value for money for its performance. I would recommend it anytime.

Excellent bake and grill lunch oven

published

Excellent everyday work lunch preparation of my favorite peas, onion and cabbage food-processed mixer first and then spread evenly on the baking tray for baking for 20 minutes at 150'C and then add grated cheese plus mixed dry herbs for grilling for 3 minutes. Once done then poured into plastic container so that the moisture and flavour are absorbed into crumbed rice cakes in a closed lid environment over 2 hours or so. Power plug is connected into a power-board with on-and-off switch so that I can turn it off from the power board without the risk of damaging by turning the timer dial to off.

Great for small baking

published

We've had this little oven for over a year now and it is still working fantastic. We bake scones, pies, fish, sausage, even quiche, well, pretty much anything in it. We re-heat meals and other food items as well, saving money on the power bill. As we've decided not to have a microwave oven this is a good alternative. The only downside is difficult cleaning (no harsh chemicals used in our household) due to the internal surface and location of heating elements.

A good replace for the build in oven

published

I bought this product last year and used it each weekend when I want to do some baking staff. It is the best replacement for the build in oven. It baked cake or Pizza even faster than the build-in one and used less energy as well. Personally, I prefer this one against others since it is cheaper and you can expect that it will give you a good performance.

My favourite kitchen item now! No need to spend for a big oven!

published

I really love this small oven and it's my favourite kitchen item which I use everyday. I used to use a big 90cm wide gas oven to heat up a little pie for kids' lunch, what a waste!! This small oven does all jobs we require. Even a normal size pizza to just a pie or baking a cake in the normal size tin. It's so perfect. It's quite light so I normally store it away after use. Perfectly bake cakes, roast lamb or chicken, etc. Highly recommend this to anyone uses an oven.

Great little Bake & Grill

published

We inherited this little oven :-) But wow! We put it on our bench top a year ago and have not stopped using it. It works very fast and we use it a lot for browning the top of food. Hardly use our mega expensive large oven anymore. Very fast cooking, it heats up pizza in a few minutes. Sometimes the door will not close completely but no worries as it is so fast.

Good value

published

I bought this oven for my parents which replaced their old oven. Good value for money when compared to other brands of similar size. Simple and easy to use. My only dislike is the the elements located on the top and bottom of the oven does not have a reflector cover and thus heats the element all the way round which could bake the crumbs and any thing that fall to the crumb tray beneath if not clean up immediately.

A worthy replacement

published

It's been a year of 'dying' for some of our kitchen devices. A few months ago our 9L Sunbeam mini-oven started to trip safety switches and as it was at least 5 years old it had to go. After much research I decided upon this replacement as it rated highly in Choice and Product Review and was reasonably priced. Good decision. It has performed splendidly and being twice the size of our old one has proved to be much more versatile. It seems to be well made ( nothing has fallen off ! ). Recommended.

Wouldn't be without it

published

I have had several of these because I use it so much that they don't last a great deal of time. I use it in the morning for toast, sometimes at lunch to heat something or a toasted sandwich and usually either to roast, bake or grill at night. It's so convenient without having to heat up the big oven and takes no time at all to cook anything. Scones, cakes, biscuits -- all bake beautifully. And you can usually get it on special for under $100 -- my latest one was $95 at Myer. Well worth that. I thoroughly recommend it.

Buy this product

published

Bought at Harvey Norman for $99.00 as a cheap use occasionally and put away in the cupboard appliance.
No way.
This oven is so good it has a permanent place on the bench, so light can be easily moved, so much cheaper to run than a large wall oven, heats up quickly, cooks perfectly and is very generous in size because of the curved glass door for a small bench top oven.
I now rate this the number one must have in the kitchen.
Well done Sunbeam.

Use it every day

published

They are great even for toast! They don't heat up the whole house. The only problem I have is I have had three in three years but Sunbeam do replace it so I keep going back. I have had overseas brands (second hand) and they outlast this brand but I hate being without it.

Love it.

published

Love it. Heats up quick so cut my power bill. Cook everything in it from roasts, cakes, quiche, potatoe bakes, pizza etc. I am coeliac so often need to heat food separate to others. Only problem, started throwing power out. The elements had bowed and touching metal top. Guessing that's dangerous. It had so much use. So threw it in the bin and bought another. then bought one for my daughter. It really pays for itself. The amount of power it saves cooking things like chips and fish finger.

Great little oven

published

I have an earlier one and this is now getting on to 3 years old. I bought a new one just in case my original failed but it still goes strong. I prefer ovens with solid core elements, not infra-ray glass types as they are sensitive to being touched by hands (develop weak spots by contact) and break easily if your trying to clean them,
This ovens only drawback is trying to clean it, but depending on how you use it will make that more or less an issue. I have done everything from roasting to simple food heating. These save money by the fact that it does not require as much power or heating time as your conventional oven.
I would recommend these to anyone for the smaller needs and save yourself power.

I agree with the electrician

published

Nice when it worked, but just over 2 years old, from Good Guys, and tripping the Residual Current switch to a point that it's useless. Can't toast 2 pieces of bread without having to step outside, and tripped again by the time I get back to the overn. Not worth repairing, looking for a different brand with better reviews.

Fantastic compact oven with many purposes

published

My Brother has one of these ovens and highly recommended me to buy one for our Parents to use. Their traditional oven, takes a while to heat up. This purchase was perfect for them.
It comes with pizza tray, baking tray, grill tray and I am sure there are other ones too. It's so easy to clean, heats up quickly, love the clear window, so you can see your food cooking inside. It's so good, it has many options on it.
My Parents are so happy with that I also bought one for my Husband. He is throwing away his unhealthy microwave and making room for this compact oven.

All but made our gas oven redundant.

published

I bought this little gem purely for the poor economics of us using a full sized gas oven to heat one or two pastry items such as the occasional pie, pizza or to make cheese toasties. The Bake & Grill preheats very quickly and heats and grills much faster than our gas appliances. When baking items which you do not want browned, ensure the oven is properly preheated or you will toast the top, as the bake settings and pizza/toast settings both use the top and bottom elements together. One little flaw is there is no means of stopping the glass door from falling past the horizontal position if you locate your oven on a shelf. I have had my oven for some months now and am very happy with my purchase.

Much appreciated.

This is next to useless.

published

Just over two years old and it keeps tripping the residual current device in the mains power box. A great device when working correctly but as usual with Chinese-made garbage it costs nearly as much to repair as spending another nearly $100 on a new one, but NOT a Sunbeam .... should be called a Lightning Burn.
Cheap aluminium internal and flimsy, lightweight body, and pathetic switches and wiring, almost illegal by Australian electrical standards. (I
am an electrician)

Brilliant

published

Bought this for a friend over a year ago, he uses it almost daily, he really loves it. It is most economical, fast and easy to use. Fantastic results for roast meals, baking and grilling. One tip - buy oven bags for roasts as this will save cleaning time. As soon as the next sale is on I'm buying one for me too.

Hi Sunbeam, I see the rrp for Australia is about $110, however, in NZ I can't find one for under $200! I wonder why the discrepancy?

Hi, I’m wondering what the cost of a replacement heating element is for the Sunbeam Bake & Grill please?

I've no idea I'm sorry but from experience a new product is often more realistic. We paid $95 for our oven. Sunbeam are helpful and would be able to assist.

Thanks Trish, thank you for your reply. I realise they are cheap to purchase. To throw away an element is ok, to throw away a whole unit because the upper element doesn't work seems bad to my minimalist soul. I will contact Sunbeam as per your suggestion, thank you.

Contact Sunbeam directly - it shouldn't be an issue in the first place, in my opinion. No problem with mine but it is new.
